Arena: A room, much like the Dangerroom from X-Men. With holographic projections and robots that can interact with the Pokemon. Scientists watch the fight, taking readings on the battlers for their research.

Denny looks in through the door that slides open and looks around and notices his opponent. "Oi!" he waves to Asi. "They drug you into this too?!" He grabbed a ball from his belt using his left hand, tossing it up, catching it with his right, before throwing it. "Come out... Truthstalker!"

Pulling out his sketch pad and a mechanical pencil, Denny stood ready. "Let's go!"

Asi smiled as her old friend from back at the University came in the room. "Glad you could make it Denny. Me and Sushi are ready to begin if you are." She studied the requirements and rules for this particular battle. "No Toxic, eh? You know me too well it seems." She smirked as she withdrew a shining blue pokebal with marbled lighter blue bubbles engraved on it. "Sushi, come out to play then!" She tossed the ball to the ground and her Piplup appeared, ready for battle. "Ok Sushi were getting more of the hang of Pokemon Battling arent we? Lets show Denny how much we've learned. Start off with a Rain Dance, then catch him up in a Whirlpool. Finally bring the Surf to the turf!"

"Starting off with a little rain-shower? We can't have that now." He started a rough sketch, while contemplating his choices. "Okay Truthstalker, after this we'll think about a name change. Cancel out her Rain Dance with a Sunny Day, then unleash a Will-o-Wisp before stopping Sushi in his tracks with a Howl."

And so begins the fight in a holo-room, where the projections allow you to use moves not intended for indoors (oh God..). Sushi and Truthstalker decide to fight over the weather, both of them expending energy (2 ENG @ Sushi, 2 ENG @ Truthstalker). However, with both fighting over the weather all that the projections can muster is a… cloudy, warm day…

Truthstalker, kind of miffed that his attack didn’t work, spews out white hot flames at Sushi (BRN @ Sushi, 1 ENG @ Truthstalker), who, despite lacking the necessary pool of water, summons a whirlpool! The watery vortex spins around the fire type, and traps him in a liquid tomb (10 DMG @ Truthstalker, 1 ENG @ Sushi). The poor growlithe becomes trapped in a whirlpool! Oh dear…

Attempting to halt Sushi, the puppy howls, and a brilliant howl it is (ATK +1 & 2 ENG @ Truthstalker). The baby bird however, while slightly chilled by the howl, Piplup is adamant. The projects swirl and create a wave of water that comes crashing down on the fire type (15 DMG @ Truthstalker, 2 ENG @ Sushi).

The whirlpool rages still (4 DMG @ Truthstalker).

Finally finish off with Brine!"

Sick of being trapped in a whirlpool, Truthstalker whips forward, blasting through the watery wall and slams straight into Sushi (7 DMG @ Sushi, 3 ENG @ Truthstalker). Sushi, who, despite being attacked previously, coos happily and begins to spray water *everywhere*, soaking the arena (1 ENG @ Sushi, Fire moves -5 DMG).

Now both pokemon go on the complete offensive. Having escaped his watery prison, Growlithe launches himself at Sushi, who is suddenly swimming through water due to the projections. Both pokemon *slam* into each other (9 DMG @ Sushi, 4 ENG @ Truthstalker, 14 DMG @ Truthstalker, 2 ENG @Sushi).

Final actions now, Truth decides to try his chances with a secret power, the white beam flies across the field as Sushi sends a smaller wave at the fire type. The beam slams into him and all of a sudden the Piplup looks… exhausted…(8 DMG @ Sushi, 4 ENG @ Truthstalker, SLP @ Sushi) The penguin curls up cutely and falls asleep… Apparently Mew Master is boring the water type. The brine looses some power and sloshes up on Growlithe (9 DMG @ Truthstalker, 1 ENG @ Sushi).

"While you may say it takes the fun out, it balances out on our end." He then mumbled under his breath, "Damn cheap-ass water attacks..." Shaking his head back to the match. "Okay, with Sushi taking a nap, let's go on the offensive! Crunch and hold onto the Piplup. With Sushi still in your mouth, Thrash around then slam it down with a Body Slam. Max out the damage and tear it apart!" More sketching.

VENGENCE WILL BE MINE! Truthstalker thinks, padding up to the snoozing pokemon as quietly as he can. Truth bites down angrily with dark-energy infused teeth (9 DMG @ Sushi, 4 ENG @ Truthstalker, -1 DEF @ Sushi), just then, Piplup lets out a such a snore that it *damages* Growlithe (4 DMG @ Truthstalker, 2 ENG @ Sushi)!

Piplup stirs in his sleep (20% wake up).

Still having Sushi in his mouth (though awkwardly), Truthstalker begins to breathe harder and thrash about, throwing the Piplup in about every direction possible (11 DMG @ Sushi, 5 ENG @ Truthstalker, 40% wake up @ Sushi, CFSN @ Truthstalker). Sushi stands up, eyes still closed, he summons grass energy to his side and hits Truth with a knot of twisted leaves and branches (2 DMG @ Truthstalker, 3 ENG @ Sushi).

Piplup stirs in his sleep (50% wake up).
Growlithe is confused (50% mess up)

Now the fire type heads to deal good damage again, he charges, just as Sushi opens his eyes. The poor penguin is slammed hard and sent toppling (10 DMG @ Sushi, 4 ENG @ Growlithe, 40% mess up @ Truthstalker). Enraged, the angry little bird glares at the dog and blasts a ridiculous amount of pressurized water at him! Growlithe is sent flying into a wall (15 DMG @ Truthstalker, 3 ENG @ Sushi, 30% mess up @ Truthstalker).

Keep them spread out so that she can't hit multiple ones with a single attack. Use Agility to keep yourself and your clones ahead of the attacks, and finally, focus yourself with a Roar of frustration." He sighed. Match was now a bit more even... until Asi started using a volley of Water attacks again.

"Dammit...." Asi muttered to herself. "Its too risky now, I need to even the playing field a little. And by even I mean have a decisive lead...." Asi pondered her next move. It was tricky trying to figure out how you can beat someone within an inch of their life without actually doing the killing blow. Finally after a long moment of study Asi was ready to give her orders.
"Sushi, Yawn at him to show him we arent concerned about this fight. Then use Rain Dance again, and finally Surf. Hopefully youll both still be alive after this!"

Seeing through his confusion, Truthstalker splits into multiple copies of himself (3 ENG @ Truthstalker, CLONES @ Truthstalker, 60% miss @ Sushi). Sushi howevers, does something unexpected after the last round, and yawns (1 ENG @ Sushi). The puppies blink, and they all start to look tired.

His opponent being sluggish and tired, Piplup decides to concentrate and make it rain. It pours down, coating the room in even more water (4 ENG @ Sushi, RAIN), the rain destroy the clones having they weren’t created in a storm. Truth attempts to use agility, but his confusion kicks in, and ends up tripping and falling into a puddle (4 ENG @ Truthstalker, 20% mess up @ Truthstalker).


Unable to stay awake any longer, Growlithe decides its time to take a nap, right in the puddle he’s lying in (SLP @ Truthstalker). Sushi chirps happily, and suddenly a massive wave if water appears, it collapses on the dog, and pushes him towards a wall (15 DMG @ Truthstalker, 2 ENG @ Sushi).

Truthstalker stirs in his sleep (20% wake up).

She studies her cute little penguin as it plays in the water. "Awww...well Sushi go ahead and just Splash for the next 2 turns, then stop him in his sleeping tracks with a Rock Tomb. We ll see just how that goes."

And so, the battle continues. Thinking this is all fun and games, Sushi decides to coo and chirp happily as he splashes in the water! Awwwwww~ (1 ENG @ Sushi). Truth, who is still quietly snoring, seemingly oblivious to the rain, concentrates and suddenly there are six of him on the field! … Again… (5 ENG @ Truthstalker, 60% miss @ Sushi).

Sushi continues to play (1 ENG @ Sushi), while Truth, still asleep, sacrifices a little of his HP to produce a doll (not well made) of himself (5 DMG @ Truthstalker, 5 ENG @ Truthstalker).

Now finally, Sushi decides to take it seriously, but the doggy gets up first and lets out a MIGHTY roar that scares the living hell out of the Penguin (5 ENG @ Truthstalker)! The Poor water type hastily uses Rock-tomb to trap growlithe! Or! Maybe not… The doll takes the hit, and breaks (3 ENG @ Sushi, 30% wake up @ Truthstalker)… Sushi blinks, why are there still six snoozing growlithes on the arena?

Growlithe stirs in his sleep (40% wake up).

Now let’s go for real, seeing that Truthstalker has the luck of the draw on his side from the last round, Sushi decides to go for a massive blast of water again (3 ENG @ Sushi)! The hydro pump flies right through one of the clones, and then they all open their eyes and give Sushi a cocky gaze (50% miss @ Sushi, -1 DEF @ Sushi, 5 ENG @ Truthstalker).

Growlithe stirs in his sleep (50% wake up).

Now Piplup decides it’s time to get rid of the clones and find Truth. He zooms through the water with remarkable speed and slams… Right into Truth’s protective shield (3 ENG @ Sushi, 5 ENG @ Truthstalker)!!!

Growlithe stirs in his sleep (60% wake up).

Final moves! Truth gets up and grabs a hold of Sushi just as the little bird summons a wave of water to his side! Growlithe begins to thrash around (12 DMG @ Sushi, 5 ENG @ Truthstalker), when the wave slams down, the puppy is dragged into the undercurrent (15 DMG @ Truthstalker, 2 ENG Sushi) and tossed about while the penguin is freed and nurses his wounds.

Truthstalker doesn’t get back up, he was narrowly defeated by Sushi.
