ROUND ONE
The two pokemon appear ready for battle, with the crowds gathered and crying out for an intense and fun filled battle. The arena is the standard beginners choice of Indigo Stadium. A grassy field with a circular stone plateau in the middle shaped like a pokeball. A small pond sits on on side of the circle, whilst on the other there is a scattering of rocks of various sizes. Everything a pokemon could need for a fair fight. The trainers issue their commands, and the battle begins. Rise's body begins to glow, and electricity crackles around him, arcing off his body and dancing around in the air. Bromeo imagines a shield and draws in the air a square panel, that shimmers into existence. Rise channels the electricity into one focused attack, and launches a charged beam at his aquatic enemy. The electricity passes harmlessly through the defensive shield, as if it weren't even there, slamming into the Squirtle and knocking him back several feet. Bromeo struggles to his feet, smoking a little and covered in scuff marks from his fall. he growls and turns his full attention to the smart-arse little ghost.

Rise bobs his single eye a little, before he sinks into the ground, vanishing into a shadow. The shadow moves around a little, before flickering and then vanishing entirely. Bromeo looks around for a target to hit, then sees something strike the surface of his shield. Rise lifts out of the ground, a little confused as to why it's happened so soon, before quickly slapping Bromeo in the face. Bromeo retaliates by spitting a powerful beam of ice energy at the ghost pokemon, knocking him back and leaving him shivering from the cool.

Rise HP(-10) PP(-1) ~
Rise pulls his robes closer to warm up, then begins forming a circle of dazzling but deadly lights in front of him. Bromeo uses his control of water to pull a sphere of it out of the nearby pond. It moves across the ground, sucking up dirt and mud as it does, changing from crystal blue to murky brown. Rise sends the circle flying out at Bromoeo, striking the pokemon and leaving him dazzled and dazed. Bromeo starts to swipe at the spots in his vision but manages to let loose his attack, dropping the water onto Rise, covering his foe in water and mud.
