Actually, the standard way is that the guy who sends out last, attacks first. As you can get the advantage by sending out last, in return the other can attacks last as to try and counter your moves.

This is by no means an obligation, just sharing information

A football field lit by floodlights was the arena for today's battle between Cueball and Asujoll, such a simple layout. Just seats rimming the edge of the stadium and the aforementioned floodlights dotted around the edge. The two trainers nodded, and plucked a poke ball from their belts. First to appear was a Grimer creatively named Slimer, (Gosh, does everyone have one of these?) and another wittily named pokemon in the form of a Krokorok named Crook. The Krokorok gnashed his teeth at my comment, and scared both myself and Slimer into shutting up.

First to move is Crook who begins the battle by doing a quick jump, and from his sides appear 4 fully fledged clones. They spin around Slimer for a second, throwing off his aim with the Toxic attack that he was at that time coughing up. The phlegm from inside the pile of living sludge just passed harmlessly through one of the doppelgangers rendering it gone. The Crooks grinned slightly, pleased that that disgusting blob didn't come anywhere close to hitting the real him.

-6 NRG Slimer, -5 NRG Crook

    ***

Crook and each of his doppelgangers jumped up in the air and hit the ground with a huge force, each one taking off at a different time in a mexican wave effect. Slimer grimaced and took the pain. An extra, undesired effect of the ripples was that they wiped out each and evey one of the Double Team clones. Slimer took advantage of the holes in Crook's evaisiveness by firing a solid clod of rock and mud to do... Minimal damage. Meh, you could say that Crook resisted the attack with ease.

-5 HP Crook, -4 NRG Slimer, -11 HP Slimer, -7 NRG Crook

The battle cooled slightly this action, as Slimer took a moment to compose himself. He seemingly dissolved, before returning to his original form with much more elasticity. He pulled his tongue out at Crook, who replied with a roar and several stomps which kicked up a cloud of sand. Pleased with his simulation, Crook returned the gesture to Slimer as the mutant slime struggled in the sandstorm.

Crook raised his shor- *interrupted by a glare from Crook* average sized arms up into the air and forces the land beneath Slimer to swirl into a vortex of sand which traps him. The Grimer just grimaced and took a really, really deep breath. With that breath he stored some energy in his body for later, as well as increasing his defences. What that was for however is a mystery to us all.

Slimer continued charging his zen like state and saved even more energy that he had before. Crook saw that Slimer wasn't planning on doing much that round he dived into the ground head first in preparation for his next attack. The rather simple action ended with the sand vortex around Slimer pulling him in slightly further.

The speedy croc surfaced this action and snuck up on Slimer with a ground powered tackle from behind. The defense up came in useful here as it made the super effective attack sting much less, and the Grimer barely even flinched from his state of repeated energy storage. The turn ended with the pile of mutant sludge being pulled further into the vortex with the swirling sand outside adding to the pain.

Slimer took all of the energy that he had stored over the last round and spit it out all at once in a powerful beam that took a hell of a lot of energy. It was a direct hit - on one of the 4 clones that Crook had created whilst Slimer was storing energy. Damn. The 4 remaining Crooks sniggered while Slimer was still struggling in the sand tomb.

Slimer was incredibly frustrated with that last move, after all he had spent an entire round preparing for it. He began to curse under his breath, asking the devil to assist him. His speed dropped a little, and his attack and defence rose a little. Huh, Satan must be feeling nice today. Crook was jealous of Slimer's relationship with the devil, and kicked up a bit of mud at him. Hmph. The grimer struggled in his sandy tomb once again.

The much faster croc slammed his foot on the floor again, causing a multitude of shockwaves to fly across the football stadium. The Earthquake struck Slimer's increased defenses with incredible power, but he remained solid. Instead he pulled an incredibly terrifying face at Crook, which really wasn't that scary. It seemed to scare Crook though, because he froze on the spot and slowly felt his speed ebb away. Slimer was finally released form his sandy prison, and the sandstorm dropped.

The 4 Crooks started stamping their feet again. Gosh, these Krokorocs are in a real tantrum! The shockwaves in turn hit Slimer directly and hurt a lot, even when the blow was softened by his huge defences. Poor 'lil pile of sludge. Slimer didn't really do much this round, he glowed pink for a while and sighed - Grimers just can't learn Earthquake!

Crook dived into the ground again, much to the dismay of Slimer. The powerful draconic energy that had been welling up inside him simply hit the ground and fizzled out. One the bright side, it did manage to knock out a clone!
One of the floodlights on the football field began to teeter from side to side - those earthquakes were taking their toll on the battlefield!

Crook pooped out of the ground with a lot of power, kind of like a rodeo clown thrown out of a cannon. Slimer was expecting the move however, and sent a ball of compacted mud flying towards the unsuspecting crocodile that lowered his accuracy a little. Turns out Krokorocs are only built for desert sand, not football field mud! On that note, Crook nosedived into the floor in a slapstick fashion. Ya aim's a little off buddy!

Both of the two pokemon are slowed down, so it is quite entertaining to see the usual swift moves of Slimer and Crook in slow motion. Slimer begins by drawing from the same power as he did before, the strange dragon type energy in the little swirling balls of energy hit Crook and all of his clones with force. Crook, now feeling somewhat alone, retaliated by throwing some large rocks towards Slimer, trapping him and lowering his speed so that they were once again on par with one another pace wise. Those rocks hit the teetering floodlight once more, making it even more likely to fall over.

-10% speed Slimer, -5 HP Slimer, -8 HP Crook, -4 NRG Crook, -6 NRG Slimer

    ***

Crook was naturally faster than Slimer, so attacking second in the first round was damn right embarrasing for him. He simply summoned more rocks, and sent them flying much quicker towards their target than before and with more force. However, that poor old floodlight couldn't take it any more. It fell to the ground and hit both of the battlers, Crook to more of an extent than Slimer due to his close range. Slimer simply blew a raspberry at the cringing croc, much to his annoyance. And it didn't stop.

-10 HP Crook (FL), -7 HP Slimer (FL), -8 HP Slimer, -6 NRG Crook, -4 NRG Slimer, Crook Tormented for 5 actions

    ***

Crook, still annoyed with Slimer from the previous action, summonned a load of sharp stones to dig into Slimer. Ouch. Our slimy little friend doesn't have much life left in him, and he almost slumps to the ground. However there's still some juice in him yet - he summons the strength inside of him and literally threw himself at Crook. Crook stumbled around blindly with a huge goop of purple goo on his face, and tripped over the fallen floodlight. I feel for ya buddy, I really do.

Crook began shouting a string of insults to Slimer - mainly about how he is useless and has no purpose in life. This simply flared up his anger and made the next attack even more useful. He summoned the little strength he had left and picked up the floodlight. With a slight struggle, Slimer lauched the heavy object towards Crook who was hit by the flying light and sent to the ground.

Slimer started this round by launching himself yet again at Crook, this time with intent to suffocate him. He hit Crook's face yet again, and the crocodile shook his head and sent him flying into one of the stands, coincidentally over the goalposts. Field goal! With that, Crook dived down into the ground again and dug his way downwards.

Nice. Great battle. Thanks to Cueball for putting up a great fight and for Cynder, for a good job at reffing.
