Default Classtoise vs mymyilikepie, Ref: Oslo

Although keep in mind. I'd like to hold a Ref spot open for Greyfox since he said he was interested in reffing my first match, so please be aware of that! Although I won't turn down an active ref if one happens upon us.

    Rules: 2v2, 1 out at a time.
You send first, I'll attack first.
Basic/Baby Pokemon only (until I have some sort of team :p)
DQ: 4 days, for a nice quick match (Though if something serious comes up, please tell me and I'll gladly give some leeway.)

Same arena as my other match, here's the details:
    Arena: Classy Courtyard
A very refined and elegant courtyard with a fountain in the middle. The entire field is about 30 feet across, with no discernible protection other than the fountain itself. The weather is clear and sunny.
Effect: "Unrefined" attacks (underhanded attacks, i.e beat up, fake out; attacks that poison, i.e Toxic, Poison Sting; and attacks that lie/cheat/steal, i.e Covet, Thief, Double Team) are all "Harumph'd!" giving them a 1/3 chance of failing.
Bonus!: Both Pokemon get a monocle. When receiving more than 30% damage in one attack, the monocle pops off and the Pokemon is quite surprised. This does nothing. It's just hilarious.

    Any takers?

And I'll send out my Elgyem! (Female, "Gray" @Telepathy)

Alright Gray, let's get things started right! Make it hard to hold that little bone club (or catch it, for that matter) with Embargo! Then, hit him with a blast of Psybeam! Finish things off a Toxic!

If he tries his own Toxic, set up a Safeguard.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 1 ‡

Top o' the morning to ye! Er... what's that you say? That's corny Irish talk, not classy? Well, fuck it. *ahem* Welcome to the Classy Courtyard, ladies and gents, where a rough-and-tumble match between two ridiculously named trainers will take place. Classtoise and Mymyilikepie take to the field, each gripping a Pokeball containing their first selection. Well, let's not prolong this any further! Time to get this show on the road!

With twin flashes of red light, the trainers summon a little grey alien and a skull-wearing, bone-wielding mammal thing into battle. Without missing a beat, Khangaskid is the first to spring into action and wields his little bone like a boomerang. He gives it a toss and it smacks Gray right in the kisser. Ooh, not good. Muttering a few choice words, Gray casts a cold black haze over Khangaskid, numbing his fingers. When the Bonemerang comes spinning back toward the little Cubone, he tries to catch it and... yeah, no luck. The bone hits Khangaskid right in the gut, causing him to double over in pain. Yeah, random bone projectiles hurt. Bet you feel like a jerk right about now.

    Gray: <-12 HP; -4 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-6 HP; -8 EP; Emb>

All of a sudden, Khangaskid begins hacking some nauseous, bubbling goo up from his stomach. With a squirt, he spits it across the courtyard toward his foe who cunningly swathes herself in a Safeguard just in time. The Toxic runs off of Gray's protective measure, leaving the wee Elgyem in tiptop shape.

    Gray: <-4 EP; Sgd>
    Khangaskid: <-4 EP>

The tables turn as Gray now prepares to unleash a sizzling splatter of Toxic goo upon her foe. However, after mere seconds of hacking in preparation of unleashing the move, a massive "HARRUMPH" can be heard echoing through the courtyard, bringing the attempt to an end. Khangaskid, meanwhile, bounces around in the courtyard in an attempt to Detect and dodge anything that might come his way. Yeah, have fun with that. Little guy is gonna sleep well tonight.

    Gray: <Can't move!>
    Khangaskid: <-7 EP>

Oslo have I ever told you how much I love you.

Alright Gray, let's start things simple. Let it Swords Dance, but then blast it with Energy Ball.
Then, when it Swords Dances again, be polite and let it finish. But then Power Swap and grab that buff for yourself.

Then try and use Telekinesis before it can Earthquake!

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 2 ‡

As the second round of our little skirmish gets underway, Khangaskid begins busting out some dance moves. As he does, his stats begin to increase. Rather than throwing a fuss at her opponent’s happy little modifier, Gray merely keeps her cool as she hurls a glowing green ball of natural plant energy at Khangaskid. The Cubone is thrown off his feet and lands at the base of the fountain, grimacing.

    Gray: <-6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-12 HP; -4 EP; +2 Att>

Khangaskid chooses to keep up the dancing and enjoys a second boost to his Attack stat. With so much raw might coursing through his veins, the little Cubone delights at the idea of putting it to good use… though he sadly won’t have an opportunity to do that. Closing her eyes, Gray forms a Psychic link with Khangaskid and begins channeling some of that strength. Her body begins to feel stronger and more powerful as Khangaskid feels the power draining away.

    Gray: <-4 EP; +4 Att>
    Khangaskid: <-4 EP; +2 Att; -4 Att>

Gray tries to hoist Khangaskid off the ground using some Telekinetic powers; however, before she gets a chance, Khangaskid slams his tail against the ground. The courtyard shakes around violently, tossing Gray into the hard base of the fountain, but the Cerebral Pokemon keeps cool and executes her command. Pink light surrounds Khangaskid as he levitates half a foot into the air. His bone lies a few feet away still on the ground, unable to be used.

    Gray: <-12 HP; -4 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-8 EP; Tel>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    Notes:

    > Mymyilikepie, I think it's important to point out that your subs for this round weren't feasible. Obviously it doesn't matter since Classtoise never used Protect, but remember that your Pokemon don't know in advance what moves their opponent will use (ie. they don't hear the opponent's commands being issued). If Gray had used Protect during the third action, then Khangaskid likewise wouldn't know this until the third action... which means it would be too late to replace the Swords Dance from the previous action with an Earthquake. Just something to keep it mind as the match continues.

First up, use Energy Ball while he can't get away. Then, use your Telekinesis to pull him towards you and nail him with Zen Headbutt. Then, teleport away again in case he thinks you'll stay in range.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 3 ‡

The match continues as Gray, amused by the way her opponent has no choice but to bob around like a fishing lure, keeps up a strong offence. She raises her arms and attacks with a shimmering green ball of energy which Khangaskid appears eager to Protect himself against. Hovering there in the air, he throws up a Protect which snuffs the Energy Ball in one fell swoop.

    Gray: <-6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-8 EP>

As Psychic energy blossoms around her impressive cranium, Gray goes for a hard-hitting Zen Headbutt which makes full use of her Attack stat. Khangaskid is left wondering if he Protected against the wrong move as the attack hits him right in the gut. Nonetheless, he responds with a sudden Stone Edge which helps even things up just a wee bit.

    Gray: <-10 HP; -6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-17 HP; -8 EP>

Trying for a defensive maneuver, Gray vanishes on the spot and reappears at a safe distance toward the far end of the courtyard. Khangaskid, however, doesn’t try to strike and merely focuses on recovering all that lost Attack strength. He dances and pirouettes through the air like some kind of bizarre marionette.

    Gray: <-4 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-4 EP; +2 Att>

Hit him with Energy Ball while he's in the air and can't make a quake! Then another!

Finish things off by "letting" him drift down without an issue and set Safeguard back up.

    ‡ Round 4 ‡

At this point in time, Khangaskid seems to have landed himself in a bit of pickle. He tries to slam a foot or tail against the ground and cause an Earthquake, but the fact that he’s hovering too high in the air to do that creates… problems. Try as he may, he simply cannot overcome his opponent’s Telekinetic skills to execute his commands. Giggling, Gray hurls another vivid green sphere at Khangaskid with painful results.

    Gray's Safeguard vanishes.

    Gray: <-6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-12 HP; Can’t move!>

Still squirming about in the air ridiculously, Khangaskid tries and tries to fight past Telekinesis’s effects and send the ground quaking, but the attempt yields nothing. Gray merely retaliates with Energy Ball Number 4, which collides with pinpoint accuracy.

At last, Telekinesis ends and Khangaskid returns safely to the ground.

    Gray: <-6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-12 HP; Can’t move!>

Putting her foot on the brakes for a second, Gray uses her superior mental skills to once again shroud herself with a cloud-white energy veil. The Safeguard hugs itself around her, providing its own unique brand of protection. Khangaskid merely Relaxes.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 5 ‡

Renewing the Telekinetic powers that had Khangaskid strung up in the air like Christmas lights, Gray wields a little of her trademark Psychic power to renew the effect. Khangaskid, however, appears entirely undaunted by his sudden levitation. He waves his arms and causes a cascade of rock to descend from the heavens. They slam themselves down upon Gray, beating and buffeting the Elgyem without reprieve.

    Gray: <-12 HP; -4 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-6 EP; Tel>

Again reaching into her bag of tried-and-true tactics, Gray scrambles out of the rock pile and tosses a glimmering green Energy Ball at Khangaskid. However, in a repeat of Round 3, Khangaskid wards himself against the attack with a quick energy shield. The Protect hovers there as the Energy Ball slams against its smooth surface and is promptly rendered ineffective.

    Gray: <-6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-8 EP>

Gray once again casts a spell upon Khangaskid that manifests in the form of a cold, dark fog. The fog hones in on Khangaskid’s little hands, numbing them to the bone. Again, Khangaskid is not intimidated by this tactic. Though he doesn’t have his bone, he’s still able to command another Rock Slide to dump itself all over poor Gray. Gray lets out a muffled yelp from beneath the rocks. Hey, that hurts!

Teleport right next to him. Then Energy Ball at point blank. Finish off by Teleporting as close as possible. If you're already close, just hit him with another Energy Ball.

If he wants to Rock Slide, he's gonna get hit, too.

    Teleport ~ Energy Ball ~ Teleport/Energy Ball

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 6 ‡

Having lost the lion’s share of her lead the previous round, Gray knows it’s going to take a little creative thinking if she wants to widen the gulf of health between the two fighters. Closing her eyes, she disappears in a brief flash of blue light. Khangaskid blinks and hovers there with a momentary look of bewilderment before Gray rematerializes no more than an inch away. Shrugging, Khangaskid commands a barrage of rocks to tumble down from the clouds. They land mostly on Gray, but Khangaskid gets struck by a few of the falling boulders. Fortunately, his handy-dandy Ground typing keeps the damage at a minimum.

    Gray: <-12 HP; -4 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-4 HP residual; -6 EP>

Snickering, Gray worms free from the rocks and promptly attacks with another Energy Ball. As the green sphere of light collides with Khangaskid, the Cubone winces as his ability to withstand ranged hits takes a dip. Nonetheless, he commands more pointy boulders to fall, reducing this part of the field to a veritable rock garden. They slam against Gray again and again while once more dealing residual damage to poor Khangaskid.

    Gray: <-12 HP; -6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-12 HP; -4 HP residual; -6 EP; -1 SpD>

As Gray squirms free yet again, finding herself pinned by an especially large boulder, Khangaskid makes with a third Rock Slide. This time, as Gray is slammed by even more rocks, she feels far too dazed to continue her escape attempts and merely lies there and whimpers.

Shaking off his bumps and bruises from all those Rock Slides, Khangaskid drifts slowly down to the ground.

    Gray: <-12 HP; Fln>
    Khangaskid: <-4 HP residual; -6 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 7 ‡

Gray flings one last energy ball at Khangaskid as the Cubone commands another bucketload of rocks to dump themselves all over the battle. Due to the close proximity between the fighters, Khangakid once again finds himself on the receiving end of his own attack.

Once everything is said and done, both Pokemon appear to have been wiped out from that maelstrom of powerful moves.

    Gray: <-6 HP; -6 EP>
    Khangaskid: <-14 HP; -4 HP residual; -6 EP>
