    CYNDER'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Skyline Terrace
A strange town, all within the treetops. Long since abandoned by humans, the MASSIVE amount of Pokemon that live here all seem a bit strange and off kilter. The completely aerial town is connected by boardwalks, and the homes all resemble traditional Japanese style. One would think the townspeople were turned into Pokemon here!

    ‡ Round 28 ‡

You enter six other numbers into the keypad. Suddenly, the door opens. The timing is good, too: you hear voices from Audino, Mayor Ambipom and Commissioner Noctowl approaching from around a nearby corner. You hurry into the room and close your door behind you.

The room is nothing special. It's filled with shelves, filing cabinets and rather large storage crates. Everything is rather dusty as though this place isn't often accessed.

    How do you proceed?

    > Check the shelves
    > Check the filing cabinets
    > Check the crates
    > Ask for Steve's help

    5000th post!

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Lake
A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

    ‡ Round 72 ‡

You reel at a normal pace. It takes a minute because the critter on the other end seems stubborn. Suddenly, you pull out a Pokemon from the water.

It looks to be above-average weight for its species.

"Five minutes remain!" Seismitoad shouts from the shore. "Five minutes!"

    How do you proceed?

Ugh, we don't have much time! we're gonna have to let this one loose. But what the heck? might as well throw a random lure ball at it, just to see if I can get lucky and catch it.

Rosa, search the water telekinetically for heavy pokemon.

    ‡ Round 73 ‡

You toss a Lure Ball at Basculin. With a flash of red, it's sucked inside.

    Wiggle.

Suddenly, Basculin bursts out, gnashes its teeth at you and begins swimming away. Ah well. No real loss.

Rosalinda closes her eyes and begins searching the water for heavy Pokemon... and, suddenly, her eyes go wide as she appears to have senses something. As soon as this happens, you feel something rather large ram your boat from beneath. Both Rosalinda and your fishing rod are tossed into the water. At the same time, Chinchou wakens.

You then watch as a blue tentacle reaches out of the water, grabs onto Rosalinda and tugs her under the surface. She vanishes beneath the water. Chinchou whimpers in fright.

    How do you proceed?

I really hate you, right now, oslo. Really, you could not make my time in this fishing contest any harder. xD

And now I'm gonna hate myself for doing this.

Ok, chinchou, I know you're scared, and I know you just hatched, but I'm gonna need your help. I need you to help swim me down there so I can help Rosa, ok? I'll be there the whole time, so there's no need to be scared.

Okay then, everyone get looking around for this box. I doubt it'll be in a filing cabinet, so stick to the shelves and crates to see if we can find anything. Remember, keep on your toes! We don't wanna get caught here.

It's no fun until things become maddeningly difficult! ;D

    Ivy Lake
A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

    ‡ Round 74 ‡

Chinchou looks at you in fright but, despite its young age, it seems to understand what you need of it. It looks concerned for Rosalinda who, of course, provided him with such an excellent nap. Steeling himself, he bounds into the water and vanishes out of sight.

You watch and wait for something to happen. Nothing does. You look over and see that the rest of the contest participants have all returned to shore, having caught the Pokemon they need. You wait a couple of minutes and begin to wonder how long Rosalinda can even hold her breath. Just as you begin to panic, you see movement.

Suddenly, Chinchou emerges from the water with Rosalinda draped over one of its antennae. Chinchou eases Rosalinda back into the boat. She seems weary but ultimately alright, though she seems to be in no condition to battle. Suddenly, a third Pokemon emerges from the water. It looks pissed.

It's very large for its species. Chinchou stares Jellicent down. The infant Pokemon looks determined and, surprisingly, ready to fight.

Suddenly, you hear Seismitoad's voice from the shore.

    "One minute remains!" he shouts.

    How do you proceed?

    ‡ Round 30 ‡

You and your Pokemon hunt around for Steve's item. You find nothing but junk: old books, a black rock, an ugly flute... until Sabaku lets out a shout.

She turns to you, holding out a white box. Aha!

"Is that it? Did you find it?" Steve says. "Awesome! Okay, Salvador's on his way... head out to the schoolyard. It's still lunch period so students will be out on recess, probably? Go to the back face and try to locate Salvador. He'll be on the other side. And, um, try to look inconspicuous. You don't want to attract the yard monitor's attention."

    ‡ Round 75 ‡

Chinchou engages Jellicent in a fight. The little Pokemon begins Charging a high-voltage attack as Jellicent spits out a hot flame that brings about a Burn. Jellicent then throws up a protective Safeguard as Chinchou releases the energy in a powerful Shock Wave. Electricity fries up Jellicent's body, causing the mustachioed Pokemon to emit a pained wail.

Grimacing, Jellicent shakes off the attack and strikes with a highly pressurized Hydro Pump. However, before the water collides with Chinchou, the little Angler Pokemon strikes with a speedy Sucker Punch. Whoo! Super effective strike! Jellicent is not pleased.

It looks as though the infant has the upperhand for the time being.

    "Thirty seconds!" Seismitoad shouts.

    ‡ Round 76 ‡

Chinchou releases a drizzling downpour over the lake as Jellicent attacks with a trio of energy balls. Chinchou then strikes with a mighty Thunder that electrocutes Jellicent from head to foot... well, not foot. Tentacle. Yar.

You raise a Lure Ball and, with all your might, throw it at Jellicent. The jellyfish Pokemon is sucked inside. The ball lands on the edge of your boat.

    Wiggle.

    Wiggle.

    Wiggle.

But, suddenly, Jellicent breaks out. It returns to the water and slaps its tentacles together aggressively, though its Safeguard is now gone.

"Ten seconds!" Seismitoad shouts. "Ten seconds remain in the contest!"

Rosalinda rises. She looks like she wants to get a little vengeance on Jellicent.

    ‡ Round 77 ‡

Working quickly, Rosalinda locks eyes with Jellicent and lulls the jellyfish into a deep slumber. Chinchou uses yet another Thunder, hurting Jellicent gravely, but it still has approximately a third of its health left. However, there's no time to weaken it further. It's now or never.

You throw the final Lure Ball, drawing Jellicent into its cavity once again. With a clatter, the Lure Ball lands in the boat by your feet. It begins moving about.

    Wiggle.

    Wiggle.

    Wiggle.

    Click.

Attract unwanted attention huh? What about when you have a Gallade and a Manectric (and a human) accompanying you? If you can get us to Diamond Dust Cave, then we'll help keep any unwanted attention of your backs.

Tesla, use Odor Slueth to sharpen your senses incase anything comes close looking for a fight. Hanzo use Calm Mind for the same purpose.

    TEAM RAZOR LEAF'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ruskie Tundra
This wide expanse of icy land extends as far as the eyes can see. Rolling snow dunes and harsh hailing conditions make it an idea place for Ice Pokemon, and only the sturdiest of winter loving beasts.

    ‡ Round 31 ‡

You and your Pokemon each hop aboard one of the Stantlers who begin leading you across the desolate, frozen landscape.

Tesla and Hanzo go on the lookout, sharpening their mental acuity as they prepare for anything. For ten minutes you cross the tundra without anything eventful happening... well, unless you count that nasty case of the sniffles you develop. Friggin' weather. Just as you begin to think that it can't be much further to the Diamond Dust Cavern, Tesla turns his head upward. You look as well and immediately spy silvery shapes floating up among the falling hailstones.

The predatory birds look hungry. They eye the weakest Stantler with the bum leg and, assuming formation, begin swooping downward with a hunger in their eyes.

alrighty then, let's go! But, before we go charging on out of here, I'll press my ear against the door and see if there's anybody outside. If there isn't then I'm good to go and I'll head outside, as inconspicuously as possible. If anything comes up, I'll just say we got lost.

    Ivy Lake
A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

    ‡ Round 78 ‡

You offer Chinchou your sincerest thanks and return to shore where Sake and Eevee are waiting. You hand over the Lure Ball containing Jellicent to Seismitoad and wait for the judging. The big blue frog disappears off into the forest to examine the entrants' captures.

After a few anxious minutes, Seismitoad returns and clears his throat.

"Thank you all for participating in the Ivy Lake Fishing Contest! We've all had a wonderful day and the decision was tricky, but I have made my selections!" he declares. "In fifth place, for successfully capturing a below average-sized Marill, is School Kid Nicholas and his Budew, Francis!"

"In fourth place, for successfully capturing an average-sized Qwilfish, is Socialite Wanda and her Dusclops, Spookybritches!"

"In third place, for successfully capturing an average-sized Alomomola, is Ace Trainer Yuki and her Kadabra, Uri!"

"And that brings us to the top two!" Seismitoad declares. "On one hand, we have BTPoke and Rosalinda, who have together captured a very large Jellicent!"

"On the other, we have Fisherman Kirk, who with his unnamed Kingdra caught an above average-sized shiny Floatzel!"

"Both Pokemon are excellent specimens!" Seismitoad declares. "Jellicent and Floatzel are equally rare and fully evolved Pokemon. While Floatzel certailny isn't as big as Jellicent, its shininess makes it a rather rare find. I've never seen such a close contest! However, we can only have one winner. After much deliberation between myself and, yes, myself, I have made my choice. The winner is of the Ivy Lake Fishing Contest, and the lovely Dratini prize, is..."

The anticipation mounts. You and your Pokemon lean forward.

Lol, I guess we'll celebrate! Even better, let's celebrate a new edition to my team, chinchou! yep, I'm gonna catch the little guy, 'cause he was such a big help during that contest! If you hadn't have hatched, we might not have won (even though it was his crying that chased off the floatzel, but i'm not going to bring that up)!

Welcome to the team, little guy!

Oh no you don't! Tesla, Shockwave the shiny Skarmory, it's clearly the leader, so a show of defiance against it should put the others in their place. Follow it up with a widespread Discharge so you strike all of the Skamory at once and then finish with a mighty Roar.

Hanzo, stay close to the Stantler, next to the wounded one as best. Give Tesla your support with a Helping Hand to boost his attacks, then when Tesla uses Discharge, hit the Skamory with a widespread Confuse Ray to disorientate them. If any Skamory break away to come at the wounded Stantler, then hit it with a Fire Punch. In this environment, they wont be used to the heat.

Meanwhile I'll ask the Stantler to remain calm. How much further is it to the caves? If we need to give them some cover to make a run for it, I need to know how much closer it is so we don't get lost.

    ‡ Round 31 ‡

Clutching Steve and Salvador's white box, you and your Pokemon slyly make a break for it. Checking that the coast is clear, you tiptoe down the corridor toward the staircase. You think you hear voices coming from behind you and you therefore bust out into a mad dash, scurrying up the steps and out of the basement.

You check to make sure nobody is lurking outside the entrance to the basement as you return to the corridor. You find the doors to the schoolyard easily enough and step outside into the sunlight.

You spy a dozen Pokemon hanging around you playing basketball, tag and so on. You scan the perimeter of the fence for some sign of Salvador, but you see none. What you do see a rather fierce looking Lickilicky keeping watch over the students. She seems more like a prison warden than a yard monitor.

You resolve that you don't want to do anything that will invoke her anger.

    How do you proceed?

    > Search for Salvador
    > Distract the yard monitor
    > Elicit Steve's help

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ivy Lake
A secluded lake in the middle of the forest, you'll find rare Dragons here, along with all the usual Water types. Rumour has it, that there's a cave hidden underwater...

    ‡ Round 79 ‡

You and your Pokemon celebrate as you offer to make Chinchou part of your team. The little Angler Pokemon bounces in excitement and accepts your offer.

Seismitoad approaches and hands you a free Pokeball with which you can capture Dratini. Whoo! Free Pokeball!

"S'all yours!" he says, pointing to Dratini's tank. "Time to make the catch official!"

Dratini swims around in his tank, smiling at you.

    How do you proceed?

    > Catch Dratini

    TEAM RAZOR LEAF'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Ruskie Tundra
This wide expanse of icy land extends as far as the eyes can see. Rolling snow dunes and harsh hailing conditions make it an idea place for Ice Pokemon, and only the sturdiest of winter loving beasts.

    ‡ Round 32 ‡

You issue commands to the Stantlers as you ask them how much further the Diamond Dust Cavern is.

"Just a short way," the alpha says, nodding northward. You can just barely see a rocky outcrop in the distance. "We're almost there. Try to give us cover if you can."

Of course, the Skarmorys seem hell-bent on stopping this plan from becoming a reality.

Tesla begins teeming with electric current like the coil after which he's named. He begins blasting the birds with various Electric-type moves and lets out a loud Roar as Hanzo gives his friend a congenial Helping Hand. The leader and a few others fall by the wayside, temporarily dazed, while Hanzo begins Fire Punching and Confuse Raying others. However, two birds manage to dart past his attacks and swoop in to the weakened Stantler. They latch onto the little deer's antlers and begin dragging him through the snow.

    How do you proceed?

    (perfect timing, Oslo)

Hey, eevee, since we've done a lot of battling together, and we seem to work well together, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to join my team as well?

"D'aww, I was hoping you'd offer," she says. "I accept."

You toss the Pokeball at Eevee. Just like that, she's caught as well and teleports to the front desk.

Which leaves you with one Pokeball remaining.

well, that was productive. I caught a water type/electric type, a dragon type, and an eevee, which is what I mainly came here for. only now I have a pokeball left. hmmm... you know, I think I'll head back to shinsuke volcano, maybe catch a fire type, and call it an adventure.

Since Rosalinda clearly remembers the location of Shinsuke, she has no trouble Teleporting you back there. You return to the island's rocky beach where you spy a Rattata and a Koffing playing around in the shallows. Further from the water, you see a Torchic and a Magby engaged in a staring contest. You politely refrain from interrupting their contest. After a minute, however, just as you begin to think the boredom might just kill you here and now, Torchic lets out a sudden sneeze that causes her to blink. Magby raises his arms in triumph as Torchic, enraged, flings a little mud at Magby's face. She storms off in a rage. Magby, however, sits down on the ground and begins snivelling.

    TEAM BTPOKE'S SAFARI ADVENTCHA!

    Shinsuke Volcano
This Volcanic Island - previously hidden away; can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here. If you fish from shore, Water Pokemon encounter rates are the same as for Tranquil Shores.

    ‡ Round 85 ‡

Magby wipes the mud out of his eyes and appears to be quite fine as you take off after Torchic. After no more than thirty seconds of tailing her, she spins around and eyes you aggressively. This one has a temper and it appears as though she does not enjoy being followed.

She lets out an irritated cry and strikes Sake with an Ember. Yowch! How rude!
