This is only my second battle ever, but I'll take anyone who wants to battle.

I'll take you on. Hmm, I'll try to think up an arena, but if the ref beats me to it, so be it.

Ok cool, my 3 will be Horsea, Ralts and Skarmory and I'll start with Skarmory who is male. Ref please?

Ok, mine will be Creeper (Sableye), Rhoas (Elekid) and Molten (Slugma) and I'll send out Molten first.

Also, I've come up with an arena.

Clockwork Tower - Clock Face

Home to the mad trainer Ben, the tower is made up of a thick shaft of gears with the room revolving around it. There is a boiler room at the bottom and a large clockface at the top, which can be spun around and even pulled back. The rooms are connected via suspended wooden walkways.

The battle will take place on the clockface at the top of the tower. Despite it being pulled back, the arms are still moving, although slowly enough not to do any damage. However, at random intervals (when the clockreaches a certain time), the hands will start spinning faster, doing 5% damage to those unfortunate enough to be hit. Falling from the tower is an instant K.O.

*standing at the centre of the clockface* now all we need is a ref.

Trying to get a mental picture of this arena though.... the clock face is at the top of the tower, horizontally, acting as the main platform, correct? Not like an actual clock (Big Ben type) that the clock face is on the side?

Ok Molten, since our opponent is a steel type, we have the type advantage. Start things off with a nice Sunny Day, then send the little birdy a Fire Blast its way. Then finish up with a Double Team to throw it off.

*Battle*
As the trainers arrive at the strange clock, supposedly home to a mad trainer of some sort, they appear eager for battle. Both trainers pull out 3 poke-balls for the battle. Metallix's Girl throws her first pokeball, which opens to reveal a large Skarmory, who caws and glimmers in the sunlight. Mystic Clown smiles, and tosses his own ball, which reveals a small puddle of living lava named Molten. The trainers shout their first commands without hesitation, and this battle is on.

Molten, the small Slugma, gazes up to the sky, focusing on a stange power. The few clouds in the sky disappear, and the sunlight appears to intensify. Skarmory grins, flaps his large metal wings, and takes to the sky, expecting a powerful attack in the near future.

As expected, the small magma pokemon breathes heavily, and an orb of fire energy forms in his mouth. He exhales suddenly, sending the heat sphere forward. As it flies toward the metal bird, it bursts into the shape of a star, searing the air. Granted the additional mobility, Skarmory flies to the side, letting the fiery attack fly by him harmlessly. As it flies into the distance, Skarmory turns his attention to the small fire type, and though a bit confused by the lack of clones, he opens his mouth. Out of it emerges a multitude of star-shaped rays. They pelt Molten repeatedly, cutting through his soft body.

The lava slug's body reforms, not being solid in the first place, and he closes his eyes. As he does so, 2 more Slugma fade into existance on either side of him. They all open their eyes and look to the sky. What they see is the large metal bird flying straight toward them, ready to attack. As Skarmory nears the first of the 3 Slugma, he pulls back his head, and thrusts his beak into it, as he lands back on the ground. Suprisingly, it disappears as his beak pierces it. He looks toward the other 2 not very far away, and jumps toward a second one. He once again thrusts his beak into the fire type, and this time makes contact with it's fiery body. He feels a bit of a burn, but continues a few more repeated beak stabs, as Slugma lets out a cry with each hit, and his remaining clone also disappears in the process. Skarmory hops back after his attack, and looks to be in a bit of pain from his beak, which is singed.

As the first round closes, it seems the trainers and their pokemon are still feeling one another out. The sun continues to shine on the battlefield, and the two trainers contemplate their next orders.

*Battle*
As round 2 begins, the trainers appear ready to fight. They shout their orders, the pokemon nod, and the battle is once more on.

Skarmory starts off by hopping backwards a bit. Then, he whips his wings foward, sending an assortment of metal shrapnel flying to the ground around Molten. He initially ignores the danger of the sharp objects, and looks around for something to throw for his attack. Luckily, there's a clock cog nearby, and he puts his head under it, flipping it up and sending it flying toward Skarmory. He squaks, startled as the cog beans him right in the head. Molten chuckles to himself.

The large metal bird shakes his head, and without delay flaps his wings and begins flying low to the ground at a blinding speed. Slugma ignores his attempt at evasion, and focuses, hardening his body. He apparently expects an attack, but none comes as Skarmory continues to fly around the arena. As his hardened shell drops, he sighs.

As Skarmory continues speeding around the arena, he focuses on his control over earth, whipping up a windstorm. This storm picks up all small debris on top of the tower, including the previous Spikes used by Skarmory, cutting visibility. In addition, the course debris, consisting of dust, spikes, and some small loose clock parts, barrage both pokemon. Skarmory's hard body repels damage, but Slugma is not so lucky, and he is a bit discomforted and damaged as the fast-moving debris cuts through his body. Molten looks toward Skarmory, attempting to look manly (as manly as a blob of lava can, anyway) in an attempt to seduce the bird. But, both of them being male (and this not being Brokeback battle :biggrin: ) Skarmory just looks on a bit disturbed.

As the sandstorm whips around the arena, its a bit hard to see, but Skarmory has landed once more on the edge of the clock. Molten continues getting pelted by the debris, and doesn't look altogether too happy.

Just for future reference, you guys might want to take a look at the ASB attack list (There's a topic in the ASB Towers child forum, and a link in that topic that lists all of the old moves, topic itself lists the new ones). Thats how I ref most of my attacks, not based on the game (ASB Harden is a one turn defense, game is a permanent defense increase...).

Ref, I read the Sleep Talk description in the attack list, but do I choose a move or do you do it? I'm not sure... Also, if he's asleep will that raise his EP any? Is there a way to raise EP? Thanks.

Any action that you give up and do nothing (Usually people order their pokemon to relax) will raise EP some.

Sleeping will regen EP if you don't do anything while sleeping.

And as for Sleep Talk, its random. I use a Random Number Generator and pick a random move out of the pokemon's moveset that way.

*Battle*
The pokemon glare at each other as Round 3 begins. Each trainer issues their attacks, and the pokemon get right to it.

Skarmory quickly concentrates, putting up a transparent shield around his body. Molten, attempting to make the big steel type tired, lets out a nice long Yawn. Unfortunately, the Protect is not a solid shield, so Skarmory still see's Molten yawning, and as if by instinct he also yawns. Molten grins, hoping that Skarmory will fall asleep any moment.

As Skarmory's shield drops, Molten concentrates on his next order. He deeply inhales, and building up heat energy in his body, prepares for attack. Skarmory droops further down, and soon has fallen into a deep slumber. Suprisingly, he lets out a loud snore, seemingly normal but the subsonic frequency causes the fire type some minor damage and discomfort. Not to be distracted, Molten quickly exhales a powerful, hot wind containing bits of fire as well. The heat and fire hit Skarmory, who is suddenly jarred awake as his vulnerable metal body heats up under the flames. Though the attack was weakened by the still blowing Sandstorm, it still hurt Skarmory quite a bit, though not enough to cause any burns.

Now awake, Skarmory decides to simply relax. As he does so, Slugma is building a purple glob of poison in his mouth. He fires this glob toward Skarmory, and it splatters all over his body. Fortunately, the metallic alloy that covers his body prevents the poison from entering his vital systems, nullifying the attack. He calmly flaps his wings, sending the purple goo flying over the floor of the arena. He smiles at Molten, who is definately not happy.

As the round ends, the sandstorm dies down. Molten sighs in relief, though he still glares on at Skarmory angerly. The clock hand continues to slowly tick along as the trainers consider their next actions.

Round 4! It seems neither pokemon is wearing down quite yet, and as the trainers shout their orders the pokemon nod in agreement.

Skarmory starts off, building up poison in his mouth to use on the fire slug. Molten prepares for this attack, concentrating as a transparent orb erects itself around his body. As Skarmory opens his mouth and snaps his head forward, a glob of poison is thrown toward Slugma. This goo splatters all over the shield around Molten, and as the shield drops and the poison falls harmlessly to the ground Molten grins at Skarmory.

Not to be deterred, Skarmory flaps his large metal wings a few times, taking to the air. He flies straight toward Molten, who doesn't appear to be taking any action to deter the attack. As the large metal bird nears the fire type, his wings glint with metal energy. He spins his body 90 degrees, putting one wing close to the ground. Slugma lets out a screech as Skarmory's wing slashes his body, while the large bird flies by overhead. Molten's body reforms as he looks toward Skarmory, who lands a short distance away and crows, though his wing took a bit of heat as it made contact with Slugma's body.

Continuing the assault, the steel type surveys the area for suitable projectiles. He finds a pile of large cogs nearby, and makes a quick flight to them. Without hesitation he picks up each individual cog and throws it at Molten. As each of the 5 cogs hits, Slugma is further burried beneath them. His flexible body allows him to escape from under the heap, and he looks at Skarmory blankly.

It would seem that as the round ends Molten has given up attacking... or does his trainer have some strategy in mind? Only time will tell, though it seems Skarmory has the advantage at this point.

Round 5 of the clock battle. The trainers are eager and quickly shout their commands as the pokemon nod in reply.

Skarmory lands on the ground, bracing himself for an attack. Already right next a suitable projectile base, thrown at him by Skarmory last round, Molten places his head under each cog, tossing them toward the large bird. He holds his ground as he is pelted by the clock parts, signifigantly less hurt because of his readiness for the attack. The two glare at each other for a second.

Determined to do some damage to the cocky steel type, Molten begins building an orb of fire energy within his body. Skarmory's eyes glow black, and a faint but visible dark aura surrounds Slugma's body. Uneffected at the moment, he opens his mouth and fires out his built up fire energy. It flies forward, bursting into a kanji shape as it flies toward Skarmory. Unable to dodge in time, Skarmory takes the brunt of the attack, screeching as his body is seared by the burning attack. He winces in pain for a second as his body cools down, while Molten smiles.

As Skarmory is recovering from the earlier fire attack, Molten begins to charge for a second attack. But he is suprised when he is unable, for some unknown reason, to charge his fire energy in the same way. Its almost as though something is blocking the energy build. As he puzzles about this, Skarmory glares at him, building up poison in his beak. He snaps his head forward, sending the goo flying at Molten. Still busy trying to figure out why his attack has failed, he gets a rude awakening as the purple glob splatters all over his body. He groans in pain as the poison mixes with his magma body, turning him a darker orange in the process.

As Molten tries to ignore the pain of the poison, Skarmory just stands nearby, a bit blackened but not quite sustaining a burn. Suddenly, a chime sounds beneath them, and the clock hands begin to spin rapidly. Skarmory gets smashed by one of the hands, squaking in suprise. Molten sees the second coming, and sinks down to the ground, dodging it just in time. Mysteriously, the hands return to their normal slow moving speed, as the round closes.

Round 6! The trainers shout their commands, and without hesitation the round is underway.

Skarmory, still the faster of the 2, starts this round off. He glances at Molten, and then starts strutting around, acting like he's all that (and a bag of chips!). The fire type glares on, extremely angry at the taunting bird. He quickly inhales, and then blows out a stream of extremely hot fire. Skarmory squaks as he is engulfed in flames, scorching his metalic body. As the flames subside, Skarmory appears to have sustained a great deal of damage, and his whole body is black.

Molten is still fuming, wanting to inflict even more pain on that bird. Ignoring his trainers order (especially since he doesn't know how to recover :p), he starts charging toward the steel bird, at least as fast as a blob of magma is capable of charging. Skarmory grins, and suddenly lets out a loud, high pitched scream. Molten is overcome with fear, and he retreats away from the flying type, to the edge of the clock. He shrinks down in fear, not wanting to get anywhere near the big birdie.

Feeling relatively safe, Skarmory takes flight, flying over to the hand of the clock. He lands on top of it and takes a nice period of relaxation. Molten watches cautiously, and satisfied that he is safe from the large bird, he begins building up heat energy in his body. He exhales, blowing out a strong, hot wind interlaced with bits of pure fire. Skarmory winces, extremely unformfortable in the hot air, the small bits of fire also charring him slightly. Finally, the attack ends, and Skarmory opens his eyes and looks straight at Molten, annoyed.

As the round closes, Molten gets a nasty reminder of the poison mixed with his body, and he winces in pain. He looks on at Skarmory, still perched on the clock hand, experiencing a confusing mix of extreme anger and fear. Skarmory, on the other hand, is fine mentally, though his body is quite blackened and hurt.

As the 7th round begins, the trainers order their commands, each trying to pull out a victory. The 2 combatants nod before looking at each other, determined.

Under a lot of stress from various afflictions, Molten takes a chance and just relaxes, though still looking quite scared of the big steel bird. Skarmory has no intention of waiting, though. He looks around the arena for a suitable substance to use for a Mud Slap... but alas, a clock doesn't have a lot of mud or anything of the sort lying around, and anything that was around has already been blown off the clock by the earlier Sandstorm attack. Skarmory frowns and remains pertched on the arm, unable to do his intended action.

Feeling up to a powerful attack now, Slugma takes a deep breath. Gathering a huge amount of fire energy, he lets loose a very intense stream of searing flames, almost white from the intense heat. The steel type braces himself, hoping to mitigate some of the damage from the undoubtedly painful attack coming his way. As the flames scorch him, he holds his ground, though he winces from the pain. As Molten's flames slowly die down, he breaths heavily, having expended a good amount of his fire energy in the attack. Skarmory lets out a sigh of relief, glad to be done with the hot flames.

A bit tired after his last attack, Molten again takes the chance to relax and let his body recover from the stress. Skarmory frowns and crows sadly as he realizes the he still can't do anything without debris to use for a Sand Attack, but takes the opportunity to relax as well. The 2 look at each other, both looking even more ready to fight than before.

As the round closes, Molten's calm is broken as the poison circulates through his magma body yet again, causing him to groan in agony. The trainers ponder the next round in silence broken only by the cries of the fire type.
