Fine by me, I'll just have to use my 2 good guys...

Kenzie! Let's do it to it! Start out with a Faint Attack, followed by a Bite. Make some distance then and put up a Reflect.

*Battle*
Both trainers (and the ref, of course) appear in some sort of parallel universe, where staircases are situated on walls, floors, and pretty much anywhere else they feel the need to be. The 2 combatants look around for a while, surveying the strange arena in which they will hold thier battle. They soon turn their attention to the battle at hand, and both of them pull out pokeballs. Vermillion throws his first, and with a flash it opens to reveal a suspicious looking ghostly puppet. The pokemon cries out "Banneeette" in a dark voice, though her zipper mouth never moves. DarkestLight chuckles to himself, before nonchalantly tossing his own red and white ball. As it opens, a slender weasel named Kenzie appears, and extends his claws menacingly. The 2 pokemon survey their battle area while the trainers issue their first set of commands, and Round 1 of this battle is on!

Kenzie the Sneasel, being the much more agile of the 2, grins mischeviously before his body disappears into the shadows, assisted by his dark typing. Completely invisible, he begins to silently approach the possessed doll. But Poe is ready, and as soon as the weasel vanishes from sight she focuses. Her eyes glow a bright red, and then a beam of light of an identical hue is emitted. The ghost sweeps her glowing eyes across the area, and soon finds her target. Upon being hit by the piercing red light, Sneasel's body becomes completely visible, though Kenzie fails to realize this. He continues to sneak up to the ghost, and then lunges at her from above. Poe simply steps to the side, letting the ice type fly by her and crash into the ground. Kenzie quickly leaps up, rubbing his head in bafflement and looking at the gaping smile of the Banette.

Hoping a different approach will turn out better, Kenzie leaps toward Poe, as a dark energy crackles within his maw. Being so close after his prior failed attack, the Sneasel reaches his opponent before the ghost can even hope to mount some sort of counterattack, and chomps down on her left arm with a vengeance. The spirit cringes as the bits of dark energy enter her body, though the bite itself has little effect on her. Hoping to get the aggresive dark type away from her, Poe builds up a quick electrical current, and then releases it in a sort of electrical field around her body. The sparks hit Sneasel, dancing across his body and through his cells. Feeling suddenly strange, Kenzie stumbles back a few steps before collapsing onto the ground, his body refusing to respond.

While the sharp claw pokemon slowly regains control over his body, Poe takes action. Her eyes shimmer with a dark shade, as an aura of darkness slowly overtakes the paralyzed Sneasel. Kenzie finally manages to stand and, having regained most of his muscular control, hops backward and then holds his hands out in front of him. He focuses energy through his palms, forming a reflective screen in front of his body. But as the attack is about completeled, the dark aura still around Kenzie transfers to the screen, surrounding it. Within moments, the screen disappears, and then fades back in front of Poe instead.

A ghastly chuckle eminates from Poe's body, as Sneasel glares evily toward her. With Kenzie's main advantage stripped from him by the paralysis, he knows he's in for a challenge, but he remains confident.

*Battle*
The 2 rather creepy combatants glare at one another, each determined to prove his or her superiority. Each trainer issues a set of commands, and the next round of the battle is underway.

Intent on causing more discomfort to her opponent, Poe holds her ribbon-like hands out. They glow with a blue aura, the space between them heating up until it bursts into a sapphire flame. Kenzie hopes to stop the attack, and he is about to start hurling insults at his foe when he suddenly feels his muscles sieze up. He collapses to the ground, twitching and unable to control any part of himself, and unable to make a sound save a few muffled whines. Poe smiles widely as she flings one arm forward, sending the pulsating blue flame floating eerily through the air toward the petrified pokemon. The fireball flies over to Kenzie, and instantly the Sneasel is engulfed with intense blue flames. The flames burn for a moment, then extinguish themselves after expending their energy. What remains is a pained Kenzie, looking even more black than usual from the charring attack.

The Banette continues her assault without remorse for her injured opponent. Her body begins to spark lightly as she transforms ethereal energy into electrical current, and she lets out a shout as she sends multiple sparks through the air toward Kenzie. The icy pokemon still lies on the ground, but he soon regains muscle control. With multiple bits of electricity speeding toward him, he furiously claws at the ground... only to find that digging into the solid floor is quite impossible, sharp claws or not. He cries out as the bolts of electricity pepper his back, each causing a painful shock. He stands, distressed at his failure to evade.

Despite repeated attacks, Kenzie remains determined and grins, arms at his side. Poe doesn't think much of this determined stance, not feeling much of a threat from the dark type. Deciding to rely on luck, Poe begins wiggling her fingers back and forth. They glow mysteriously, summoning a strange power in the process. Feeling the power massing, she holds her glowing fingers close together, and a stream of water gushes out of them (Water Gun). The aquatic attack hits Kenzie, pushing him back a bit and drenching him. He shakes his head a bit, suprised, and then runs forward. Despite his failed Dig, he remains intent on at least doing something. He reaches the ghostly foe, and brings down his claw with conviction... but even with such determination, Kenzie can't change the fact that he's fighting a ghost, and the claw simply flies through Poe harmlessly.

The Sneasel hops back a bit, now fuming. He's failing at every turn, and its not sitting well with the dark type. Meanwhile Poe continues to keep calm, quietly enjoying the situation.

We're already paralyzed...and burned..so heck, why not poison the ghost. Spit a Toxic at her and then Faint Attack

After looking at a picture of this arena...there are doorways that are all around here and could possibly lead anywhere correct...Faint Attack and enter a doorway fast! Now we have some options Poe, if you appear close to the enemy sneak up on him and Screech right in his ear to deafen him and then Double Edge. If you appear far away, Calm Mind to power up and strike from a distance with Shock Wave.

Each trainer standing on a staircase opposite each other, they give a shout as they issue commands to their pokemon. The 2 tricky pokemon nod, and then turn to face each other.

Banette grins tauntingly at Sneasel, as the sharp clawed pokemon dashes toward her. His mouth is open, and dark energy is crackling between his sharp teeth. But as he rushes toward his foe, suddenly Poe starts to disappear. She is soon completely cloacked from view, and Kenzie looks around frantically, trying to locate the ghost. But Poe isn't going for him, and rather she makes her way up the staircase to one of the doorways. Stepping through the door, a strange force moves her to a far away door. She cautiously uncloaks, seeing the Sneasel across a gap from her.

Recalling her orders, Poe stands calmly and closes her eyes. Acting quickly, Kenzie's eyes glow an inky black. The dark type glares at the calm spirit, a dark aura covering her body, a signal of Sneasel's power. As Poe brings her mind to absolute nirvana, she suddenly feels a force tugging at the calm of her mind. The dark aura intensifies around her head, as the focus is stolen from her. She appears quite distressed at the strange occurance, but is suddenly angered, witnessing a similar shadow appearing on Kenzie. He feels the benefits of a calmed mind, feeling at ease with the world, and able to better focus on energy manipulation.

The ghost type, on the other hand, is bloody annoyed. That tricky weasel took her trick and turned it back on her. Growling in dark voice, she starts drawing up an electrical current, voltage speeding across her body surface. Remaining calm, Kenzie quietly slips into the shadows, body fading from view. He approaches the gap seperating him from his opponent, and rears back. Swiftly leaping across the chasm, he is met in the middle by a widespread shower of electricity. The agile pokemon cringes as he feels the sparks surging through his body, throwing off his jump. Reaching out one hand, he just manages to latch onto the ledge, and pulls himself up with a sigh of relief. Still moving through the ethereal realm, he crawls up behind Poe and tackles her, while reappearing. Poe staggers forward a few steps, then turns to face the Sneasel close range once again.

Mind at ease, Kenzie ignores the continuous burning sensation over his body, though he can feel it eating away at him gradually. Banette glares at her serene enemy distastefully, as the pokemon's trainer thinks about the next move.

Then let's use this place to have some fun. Run through a few stairwells, and then shoot an Ice Beam at her-while we have the power!

Lastly, to cover your trail, dart through a few more doors and hide in the shadows, when she's least expecting it, Faint Attack.

The two combatants face each other... one a lithe but slowed weasel, the other a strange possessed doll, grinning evily and appearing a bit peeved. Their respective trainers issue their orders to them, and the 2 nod in unison before preparing to duke it out, in Round 4.

Feeling the pain of multiple status afflictions, Kenzie hopes to inflict some similar pain on his foe. He is just about to start combining different substances within his mouth, when he suddenly feels the ever-present paralysis take hold of him once again. Twitching as he falls to his knees, Kenzie makes a weak grunt, the best he can muster in his current condition. His ethereal opponent laughs at him, taking a sick pleasure in watching the dark type sieze up, then suddenly becomes serious. Her body starts to disappear into the realm of darkness, vanishing from sight as she makes her way to the closest doorway. As she enters, the Banette feels herself wisked off by the mystic power of the arena, and is moved to a new location.

As she reappears into the physical dimension, the looks around for her opponent. Initially Poe's search yields no resaults, but as she looks down off the ledge which she is standing on she finally spots the ice type below. Poe closes her eyes and lets her mind clear itself, just as Sneasel shakes off his paralysis. Again in control of his body, he dashes up the stairs and into another doorway, while at the same time he starts to build up an icy energy within his mouth. He appears with no Banette in sight, so he continues dashing and runs through a second doorway. This time he catches a glimpse of Poe in the corner of his eye. Kenzie digs his claws into the ground, stopping himself on all fours before he lets loose a powerful cerulean beam from his maw. The frigid beam cuts through the air, and slams straight into the stationary ghost type. Still focusing on powering up, she suddenly feels a biting chill on her torso as the arctic energy blasts her. Despite extreme discomfort, she manages to block the pain out and complete her power up, her mind now more focused on energy manipulation.

And Poe intends to use the increased power to good effect. The menacing ghost holds out her arms and starts to channel electricity through her form. The sparks jump across her spiked head and her dark body, and in moments a barrage of sparks start to fly through the air toward Kenzie. He quickly starts to cloak his body in darkness, making a run for the door at the same time. But the swift electric blast proves faster than he, and he winces under the assault of electrical current. Though peppered by the bolts, he continues to dash through the doorway, again being warped to another localle. This time he appears just above his starting position, still maintaining his hidden stance. The agile Sneasel doesn't even hesitate as he leaps off the platform, dropping gracefully to the platform which Poe is currently standing on. She hears a hushed thud as Kenzie lands near her, but still doesn't suspect anything when the Sneasel emerges from the shadows and rams her, head first, using the dark energy to enable himself to hit the ghost's ethereal body. Banette is thrown backwards into the wall, and soon phases back out of it with some difficulty.

Rubbing her side with her arm, she glares at the sharp claw pokemon with distaste. Instead of glaring back, however, Kenzie grunts as the burns covering his thin anatomy act up, causing him a deal of pain. The trainers carefully watch the scene unfold, already thinking about the next round.

Alright Kenzie. We have them on the run. Taunt that ghost {or those ghosts if the case may be}, then Faint Attack it so it can't do anything mildly annoying. That bolt will hurt, so get through a door and lunge a Shadow Ball at Poe from afar.

As the 5th round begins, the trainers waste no time shouting their commands to the respective pokemon. The pokemon nod in reply, ready for action.

Taking defensive measures, Poe closes her eyes as she focuses on creating a few illusory doubles of her own image. She carefully concentrates, and just the move is near completion, she hears an annoying sound. Her opponent seems to be shouting out something... listening more closely, she hears the weasel insulting her ghostly vessel. Something like "a doll? Ooh, what a very scary ghost, stuck inside a old throwaway plaything". Well, Poe is NOT going to stand for this. Completely forgetting about her clone trick, and turns her attention right back to Kenzie. She'll show him who's "just a doll". The eyes of the Banette glow an inky black, and soon fire off a jagged beam of ghostly energy at the insulting sharp claw pokemon. A bit suprised at the quick success of the taunt, Kenzie gets hit directly in the torso with the black blast. He cringes and holds his chest, feeling a strange dulling sensation at the point of impact. Soon, the beam dies down, and Banette appears like she is still quite pissed.

And indeed, she is. Considering her order of a simple flash, she decides such a lame attack is insufficient for hurting that slandering Sneasel. So instead, Poe holds her hands out, building up a purple energy orb between them. It grows steadily in size, reaching the size of a bowling ball before Poe grins. Kenzie is ready, and acting like the tricky pokemon he is, his body once again cloaks itself in darkness, disappearing from vision, just as Poe pushes her ethereal orb toward him. Rolling to the side to dodge the dangerous attack, he springs up into the air and over Banette. He emerges back to sight just as he rakes a claw down the ghosts back, still using the darkness to attack. Poe yelps in pain, while the Shadow Ball she missed Sneasel with slams into the wall, causing a localized explosion of energy that hits a whole bunch of nothing.

Letting out an angry moan, Poe turns around to face Kenzie, a look of rage on her face. Electricity starts to surge along her body, from her spiked tail to her wavy arms. The electrical current is rapidly increasing, and Kenzie needs to get out of there. But the enraged Banette is standing right between him and the doorway... he starts to panic, but decides to jump it. Just as he starts running toward Poe, intending to leap over her to reach the door, she holds her hands outstretched and lets loose a powerful electrical bolt. The stream of charged particles flies right into the charging weasel, causing him to come to a halt, cringing in pain as the power surges through him. Poe seems to be taking a sick pleasure in watching him endure the pain, but soon her built up electrical charge is exausted. The flow of electrons is halted, and Kenzie deftly bounds over Banette and into the doorway. He is wisked right across from Poe, and stops himself to hold his hands out. Much like Poe previously, he starts building up a mass of null energy between his claws. Reaching a respectable size, he whips one slender hand forward, sending the black orb hurtling toward Poe. She holds out her hands to block the attack, but as it slams into her arms the spirit bomb explodes, engulfing Poe in ghost energy and shredding her ethereal form.

Coming back to her senses, Poe lets out an agonized cry, feeling the wear of the battle. Kenzie, too, is looking battered, and he whines as his unrelenting burn continues to pain him.

And FYI guys... I brought it up in the rules tower, and it turns out doubling damage is not allowed. Makes battles finish way too fast... I'll redo the damage calc for both rounds, and you'll have to finish the battle as normal.

Kenzie. Don't be phazed! Shadowball immediatly. Follow that up with a disappearing Faint Attack. Run through those stairs and when you reappear back from the darkness Beat Up if close. If far, Icy Wind. I want that ghost to feel the shock of cold. {XD So wanted to use this.} that ghost.

However-if you clinch up, immediatly Protect to save yourself.

The interest of time? Battles don't have to be completed by a certain point; Elec Man vs Aragornbird is proof enough a match, whatever size, can go on for as long as the battlers will allow.

Doubling the HP is unfair because you're just making the match go by quick. Strategy is thrown out the window in favour of an all-out attack which is a cry for easy points. You should have come to me and asked whether these matches were allowed or not. Please remember that in future, should you have any doubts, PM a mod and we'll let you know

Using our strategy against us aye? Poe Disable him from using that shadow ball and Taunt the Sneasel into coming for you, and light him up with Thunder!

By the way, I'm enjoying this as well...working 40 hours on top of college makes it a little harder for me to get online, but I can do, don't wory ^_^

[color=#FFDD11]Protecting won't work if the paralysis kicks in, nothing will. Paralysis locks both muscle control as well as energy control, and being a fairly energy-heavy move, erecting a shield for Protect would be nigh impossible. The best a pokemon could hope to do is Endure, and even then, getting into a defensive stance while lacking muscle control would have a very low chance of success.

And I know Disable isn't psychic type in the games, but I never understood why not. It even says it disables the opponent psychically. So I treat it as a psychic attack.

Round 6, and these two denizens of the darkness are slowly wearing one another down. Their trainers carefully build a strategy, and each shouts it to their respective pokemon.

Fighting off the constant pain of burns, Kenzie holds out his hands as he starts to pull energy from the spirit realm. Energy starts pooling between his claws, forming a black bead of energy which pulsates with an eerie light. It grows steadily, and Poe acts to prevent its use against her. The demonic puppet's eyes shimmer red, but as she tries to grip Sneasel's body a problem arises. It seems that the essence of darkness that makes up Kenzie's body is able to withstand the psionic grapple, effectively deflecting the psychic energy. Try as she might, Banette just can't hold the foe. While she fails at holding him, Kenzie has plenty of time to finish building up a considerable bomb of ghostly energy. He hurls the glowing sphere forward, and it sails through the air and hits Poe dead on. Impact causes the release of the incredible blast of energy, creating an ethereal explosion which blows the puppet back while pummeling her ghostly core.

While the energy from Kenzie's attack seeps into the air, he takes the chance to cloak himself yet again. Passing into the ghostly plane, he silently hides himself from normal eyes. While hidden from view, he dashes back toward the door behind him, utilizing the familiar portal to warp himself. Meanwhile, Poe recovers from the powerful attack, floating back to her original position and looking for Sneasel. No good, he's hidden himself already... regardless, she goes back to something thats proven quite useful for Sneasel in the past. Banette starts shouting blasphemous things at nothing in particular, but well aware that even cloaked the tricky weasel can still hear. As Kenzie emerges from the warp portal, he suddenly hears an unsettling series of insults. Looking around, he locates Poe far above him, too far for him to reach. Ugh, how irritating... he wants to give that ghost a good thumping! Merely standing there fuming, Kenzie glares at Banette. She stops the insults and grins at him, egging him on even more.

That ghost is going to get it now, Kenzie thinks. Tapping into his inner icy core and taking a deep breath, the dark type is just about to blow a frigid blast of air when he feels the familiar tingling sensation. He appears like a statue, twitching but unable to move otherwise, mouth open and pointed at Poe. The puppet cackles wickedly, and starts to prepare her own attack against the helpless foe. Her body starts to spark, the current increasing until she's absolutely engulfed in a shower of electric bolts, and calmed state allowing an even more powerful charge. With a sinister cry, she sends a powerful arcing blast of electricity up into the air and then straight down at Sneasel. The threatening bolt hits Kenzie, who merely looks on with horror. Even with the strong electrical current flowing through his body, assaulting his cells, the weasel is unable to muster much more than a faint grunt of pain. As the electrical power is exausted, the brightly glowing bolt shrinks and disappears, leaving a pained and static Kenzie in its wake.

As the few remaining sparks dance across Sneasel's slender body and off into the air, he finally regains control of his muscles. But just as he does, he feels the burning sensation all over his body once more, and he cringes. The burning flesh matches his burning hatred for his opponent quite well. Poe, on the other hand, is feeling rather good, but her breathing is labored as she tires.

After a rather drawn out period of consideration, the two trainers finally decide what to do, and issue their orders for the pokmon. Round 7 gets underway as the two pokemon give verbal replies to their trainers orders, taking careful note of them.

Really starting to feel the stress of battle, Poe opts to take an opportunity to allow her ethereal batteries to recharge. She stills herself, while Kenzie holds out his palms and opens the gates to the realm from which Poe heralds from. With the knowledge of Banette's particularly vulnerability as she rests, and the absolute rage he feels for her, the weasel hastily starts to build a ball of null energy. In due time, he pulls one clawed hand back and snaps it forward, tossing the ghostly bombshell toward the resting puppet while shouting a loud warcry. Her eyes show a look of fear, but her relaxed stance gives her little time to attempt evasive maneuvers. She lets out a piercing cry as the projectile explodes, sending waves of nether energy shuddering through her, colliding with her own ghostly life force and causing extreme agony. The blast blows her back, but she finds herself with more energy to work with.

Putting it to good use, the possessed puppet starts to charge a current of electricity. It surges over her body, and as she raises one arm toward Kenzie a barrage of sparks jump off her ribbon-like hand toward him. He braces himself for the attack, each bolt shot with pinpoint accuracy and peppering his dark flesh. He feels a series of biting jolts across him, but as the assault ends he smiles toward the Banette. Eyes turning an inky black, Sneasel looks like he's been possessed by a demon, but he's in full control. Invisible waves of darkness pulse from his eyes, flowing around an unsuspecting Poe. She becomes surrounded by a faint blackness, but the aura soon recedes into her body. As Kenzie's eyes turn back to their normal color, he eagerly awaits his opponents next action.

Well, Poe isn't exactly sure what just happened, but this battle isn't over and she needs to keep up the heat. Focusing carefully, she tries her hardest to start the build of electricity a second time. But something unknown is blocking it, barring that particular part of her mind from functioning. Grunting in frustration, she keeps trying, but Kenzie knows the effort is doomed to fail. He grins sinisterly, and then as Poe struggles he begins to fade from view. He lets himself enter the realm of darkness completely, and dashes silently toward the bothered ghost, using his agility to leap from wall to wall and climb up toward Poe's level. He lands gracefully in front of the Banette, and lets himself become visible. Poe sees the weasel come into view, evil look on his face, just before he leaps forward and rakes a claw through her body. She feels it cut through her, still partially in the ghostly realm, and muffles a cry and tries to hide a look of pain. Damage done, Kenzie allows himself to fully enter the normal world and jumps back, still looking rather mischevious. Poe just glares back, still unable to muster the electric charge ordered.

The lithe weasel is quite happy that he finally went an entire round without being overcome by the bothersome paralysis, but the burns across his body flare up unhindered as always, causing him to buckle down in pain. Poe gazes at her trainer, as though asking why the feck she can't attack, and awaiting the next chance to hurt the annoying Dark type. Her eyes show the pain thats building up, her fragile body starting to really ache, though.

Neither trainer wastes much time in ordering their pokemon for Round 8, and both of the evil combatants nod calmly, trying their best to ignore discomfort of continued battle.

Painful memories of the previous round, Poe is eager to set up some defensive measure. Closing her eyes and folding her ribbonlike arms, the ghost focuses her mind and summons her illusory power. On either side of her, a perfect body double forms, each mimicing her movements exactly. The triplets cackle halfheartedly, attempting to appear confident but clearly nervous. As the clones are summoned, Kenzie opens his mouth and draws freezing energy from within his body. A chill blue orb pulsates between his jaws just as the clones split. The weasel frowns at the multiple targets, but he chooses without hesitation. With a shout, the sky blue orb releases 4 jagged streaks of frost, each curving around the others to form a single beam of ice energy surrounded by a mist of cold. Banette cracks a smile just as the frigid projection hits the center clone, passing through it and to the wall behind. The illusion is dispersed, while the freezing beam creates a patch of ice to the rear of the remaining 2 ghosts. Kenzie lets out an exasperated sigh, not nearly as happy about the failure as the grinning phantoms.

Even as they smile, the two Banette start to move right on to the next action. Their eyes light up with a deep red glow, and a psionic force reaches out toward Sneasel. But for a second time, Kenzie's dark body is able to repel the psychic advances. And its that darkness that envelops the ice type as he fades from view. He moves silently through the realm of shadows, creeping up behind the two ghosts and trying his very best to determine which is the real thing. The two Poe's look around nervously, eyes having returned to normal after the foiled psychic grasp, frantically searching for the cloaked sharp claw pokemon. With his weapon-like appendage at the ready, Kenzie starts to fade into view as he swipes the claw horizontally through one of the Banette. But to his dismay, this ghost proves just as unsubstancial as the last, and the slash is met with nothing but air. The only comfort is that its just he and his opponent now, as Poe turns around to face him.

But even as Poe turns, her body starts to emit a brilliant shower of sparks. The electric current starts to increase to dangerous levels, and Kenzie turns to his final order. But as he thinks, it doesn't take him long to realize that flooding the corridor is nigh impossible. He can't create water, only control it. And the strange staircase world is void of any such water. With no way to counter the electrical assault, he crouches down and readies himself to simply avoid it. With Poe's voltage climbing, she's finally built up enough for the powerful electric attack she intends. The puppet raises her arms to either side and lifts her head, releasing the current in the form of a powerful bolt. The attack juts up into the sky, then curves down straight toward the waiting Sneasel. He leaps to the side, leaving the surge of power to slam into the ground where he once stood. The sheer power of the attack allows bits of the current to jump across the ground, some hitting Kenzie for minor damage. But having avoided the brunt of the surge, he can't help but breath a relieved gasp as he looks at the charred ground. Electrical energy soon exausted, Poe lowers her head as the last few sparks jump across her body, glaring at the dark type with malice.

With both pokemon having avoided the brunt of the others' assault, each gains a bit of confidence that they can win. But the burn of his flesh causes Kenzie to shriek once more, again giving a slight edge to the dastardly ghost, though she breathes heavily as her energy levels fall to a dangerous level.
