    Default Open 2 vs 2, Ref Needed

    2 vs 2
    One out at a time
    DQ: One week
    Damage Caps: 30%
    Banned Moves: Attract, Direct Healing Moves (i.e. Recover, Milk Drink, etc.; Giga Drain and Drain Punch do not count), Weather moves, OHKOS.
    Arena: Crescent Island

    'This island is in the middle of nowhere. It's nighttime during the battle that is to be staged here. The island is shaped like a croussant (hence the name "Crescent") and its bay is pure and still. We'll have the battle right by the shores of the bay, and to the other curved end of the island is a dense forest. At the edge of the forest is a single huge rauflessia (sp?), larger than any ever known to man, although the beach is so wide that the flower is such a long distance away. The bay is only big enough for a Wailord, nothing more. So all you Wailord owners better send them out into the sea at the side.

    The full moon shines brightly overhead, and the sand on the beach is soft and white. The island is rather peaceful, other than the occasional rustle behind the overgrown brush. The occasional Golbat or Murkrow may fly by at any time. Dark- and Water-types get a 3% power boost. I heard that Espeon and Umbreon are powered up when they come to battle on this island, as well. Earthquake won't work, as the sand is too soft. Any Pokemon using Dig is a bit speedier for the time it's underground. The air around the island is crisp and clean, just perfect for a flying type to stay aloft. Mud-slap and such attacks will cause the offeding Pokemon to hurl wet sand, not mud. Sand-Attack will make the opponent lose double the accuracy as it normally would. Sandstorm lasts for twice as long because of the infinite amount of sand on the island.
    '

    I send out first, you attack first; I send out Yadon, my male Slowpoke.

    I'll take you on if thats ok. I'll send out Columbia, my shiny female Aerodactyl.

    Before I attack, is Sandstrom banned? It is a weather attack, sorta.

    Not reffing this one, just wanted to ask..

    Sandstorm lasts for twice as long because of the infinite amount of sand on the island.

    Would that even matter since Weather moves are banned?

    Easy enough. Yadon, wait till the Screech is over and the Dive into the ocean off the island--go deep. Then we'll go on the offensive; each time Columbia comes down to attack, hit 'er with a Surf. Hell, try to drown her.

    If the ref decides that there's no water even though islands are obviously next to water, take the screech and set up a Reflect; then Yawn at the incoming aerodactly, and follow it up with a Thunder Wave.

    o.O Whivit, you seem to have a real grasp of this. So, for you and my boy Drag, I'll ref this battle for you. It may not get started 'til all my other battles are balanced for the moment (may be later tonight) but I'll get to it.

    I'm just not trying to ref every battle in ASB right now >>

    ===Round 1===

    Another sandy beach. Another battle where Pokemon trainers pit their minds against mettle and elements and invariably put me in danger.¬¬

    Dragonis: Umm DL, you aren't so chipper today. Sure you don't wanna sit this one out.

    Whivit: O.o ...uhh he ok?

    DL: I'M FINE YA LIL WHIPPERNSNAPPA! *Falls, reeks of alcohol*

    Dragonis: O damnit. Someone got him drunk. It's ok Whivit, I've seen him worse off.

    Whivit: Oooo..K...

    Anyway! As those two get the Oh snap.....

    >> >> It's an Aerodactyl. And she's rootin' around in the sand....

    << >> and over there...there's a Slowpoke.

    Whivit: HIS NAME'S YADON ><!

    A yadon? The hell's a Yadon? ::Looks at Slowpoke:: You mean THAT'S a Yadon.

    YADON' SAY! AHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

    :ragonis and Whivit booth attain perplexed looks, as DL laughs himself to silence::

    DL: AHAH..haha..haa..whoo that was funny. Anyway. Battle's started, and Caroline still seems unaware of Yadon ova' 'ere..hehherehhe yadonsay xD.

    Fine by the Slowpoke's standards, as he waddles over to the edge of the beach. Crystalline clear water welcomes him, and as soon as he gears to Dive, an Ear-splitting Screech follows him down. Swimming down as deep as he can, he can't manage to get the ringing out of his ear-and it sends an extra strong shiver down his spine.

    Yadon: -4E -2 Def==///== Caroline: -4E

    Staying underwater for now was not cool to Columbia. She'd have to face her fear and dive after him. Her wings extend, and quickly beat against the sky, taking her afloat on only a few flaps. She slowly wafted in the winds until she could spot Yadon smirking at her from below the crystalline water. Fangs bared, she sucked in a chest full of air, and plummeted down. Gearing to hit the water head on was her idea, but that's not how it appeared. A surging Surf came roaring out of the ocean at her, catching her completely off guard, and smashed her into the watery depths. She freaked, and struggled to get to the surface-utterly forgetting about the Thunderfang.

    Yadon: -8E ==///== Caroline: -5E/-11H

    Yadon began to float upwards a bit, seeing that Caroline finally made it out of the water and barely onto the tip of the island. It didn't save her as a Second wave crashed down and dragged her under again. Yadon snickered, until he realized she was suddenly right next to him, and her jaws were open.

    Yadon pulled the Surf back directly toward him, and Caroline followed the pull of the ocean. Just to follow it up with a hefty Crunch right on Yadon's snout. The duo struggled upwards, and when they finally reached the surface, Caroline beat her wings as hard as she could to finally fly high in the sky, leaving a sore-nosed Yadon looking up at her with anger.

    Yadon: -8E/-12H ==///== Caroline: -7E/-11H

    Rrright, I'm rather confused as to why Yadon floated upwards, but uh, again, thanks for reffing.

    Now, Yadon, hrr... Grab Columbia with a Psychic attack and pull her deep into the water. Don't let go, just keep pulling her deeper in, and go deeper and deeper with her if you have to; just keep pulling her down for the whole round.
    If she uses Protect or Detect on the first action, set up a Future Sight; if she uses it again on the second action, set up a Reflect, and if she uses it again on the third action, just use the Psychic attack on her anyhow.
    If she Flies out of reach before you can Psychic her into the water, Curse until she comes back down, and then continue as planned.
    If she uses Double Team, use a Swift attack to get rid of 'em and continue as planned.

    Psychic / Future Sight / Curse / Swift ~ Psychic / Reflect / Curse / Swift ~ Psychic / Curse / Swift

    I should be pissed that you keep calling Columbia Caroline but I'm too easy going, so eh...
    Alright Columbia, Roar to shake Yadon up a bit. Then let him pull you in, but turn in into a dive so you can use Crunch on him. After that Fly up so he can't reach you. Try to stay out of the water as much as you can.

    ===Round 2===

    Columbia (There!) is a tad miffed. Her target is kinda low right now. Really low. And her first action needs to have enough power to bother him. So, she takes a risk, and dives forward,heading toward the water. During her Dive, Yadon forces his Psychic prowess to clamp her wing muscles. Falling fast due to her Rocky exterior, Columbia bellows out ferociously, the Roar's wavelengths blasting through the water, reaching Yadon just in time.

    The Slowpoke is shaken up a few seconds after the Roar actually hits him, and Columbia barely skims over the water

    Yadon: -8E *Shaken up*==///== Columbia: -4E/-5H (Struggling against Psychic grip)

    Having no other option, Yadon tries his Psychic hold again, but he's a little scared this time. It latches onto Columbia's tail, and she performs an aerial loop, diving into the water, allowing the Psychic grip to envelop her and sink her faster.

    Yadon smirks a bit, seeing his plan working, until she opens her eyes! Yadon screams, and turns to run, but Columbia sinks her teeth into his back, and Crunches hard, before kicking off of him and flustering her way back to the surface.

    Yadon: -6E/-12H ==///== Columbia: -7E/-9H

    Unhappy, shaken and confused, Yadon tried weakly to re-grasp the flier, but Columbia was resisting with all her might. She almost ran out of air, but with a final effort-and due to Yadon being still scared of her, she was able to Fly free!

    Since Columbia was already in the water by the third action, Yadon could have reached her-She was trying to escape, hence why I went with Psychic instead of Curse.

    Alrithry Columbia, unevre even more by rushing her with a Sky Attack. Try to hit her with out charging the attack if you can, I don't care if it's weaker. Then either hit her with a Thunderfange or finish your Sky Attack. After that nail her with anouther Cruch.

    Hrm, alrighty... Yadon, go as deep down into the water as you can and Protect yourself from the Sky Attack. It should be done in one action, but if it isn't, Curse on the first action and Protect on the second. If Sky Attack was finished on the first action, wait till Columbia comes to Thunder Fang you and grab a hold of her jaws with your Psychic attack and rip them as far open as you can, and keep them that was for as long as you can- that is, continue into the third action. If Sky Attack took two actions, do this only on the third action, of course.

    ===Round 3===

    Soaring free of the water, Columbia circles the area where Yadon quietly sits, judging her distance. However, she faces another dilemma. Yadon is way down there, and so using Sky Attack would have to take two turns-one simply to charge up enough for her to enter the water and deal with the slap of cold in order to even reach him.

    So her encirclement continues, her body beginning to exude a bluish aura. Yadon spots her floating in place, and softly mutters to himself. The stout Slowpoke seems a bit more sluggish afterwards, but nothing. He also seems a bit more confident.

    Yadon: -3E +1 Atk & Def, -1 Spd==///== Columbia: -4E

    Growling at all this water entry, Columbia roars before blasting through the water, and speeding like a demon at Yadon. Yadon smirks, and watches as the avian slams into a Protective barrier with jarring force. The Slowpoke has to strain to keep the barrier up, but it holds. Columbia, through clenched teeth shows her strain and her anger at her predicament.

    Yadon smiles, not afraid anymore.

    Yadon: -9E ==///== Columbia: -4E/-5H (water slap)

    Breath held, Columbia lunges for a piece of Yadon's flesh, and manages to sink her teeth in, angering the pink fella. As the Crunching persists, Yadon finally breaks her hold with a Psychic lock, forcing her jaws open, and holding her there. Columbia began to freak out, knowing that if she didn't get up for air soon, she'd pass out!

    Shouldn't Columbia take damage just from being in the water, seeing as she's a rock type? And I assume that after one round underwater, the pokemon faints?

    Alrighty... Keep holding Columbia down there with a Psychic attack. If she manages to escape your grasp somehow, and gets out of the water, create a Substitute (10%) and chill. If she goes back into the water, however, hit her with an Ice Beam.

    Psychic / Subsitute (10%) ~ Psychic / Substitute (10%) / Chill / Ice Beam x2

Sandstorm lasts for twice as long because of the infinite amount of sand on the island.'

    ===Round 4===

    Clumbia was feeling dizzy. Holding her breath for this long was catching up to her and fast. Yadon wasn't making this easier though, as he held her in place with a Psychic grip on her body. But Columbia struggled, air sieving through her teeth as her legs stretched out ever so closer to Yadon..

    until her claws sunk into his back! Using all the strength she could muster, she grabbed the Slowpoke, effectively ending that brutal Psychic and made a beeline for the surface

    Yadon: -8E/-6H ==///== Columbia: -5E/-9H

    Yadon had all reason to be scared. Columbia was not letting him go without a fight, and even as she forced her body toward the sky once more, she had to inhale. A final burst of energy was released by Columbia as she swallowed some seawater. Her eyes began to close but she could feel the cool breeze above. One final beat of her wings...

    and she burst free of the ocean - rather haphazardly! Spewing seawater and bile out of her system, Columbia shook her head as she soared upward with Yadon in tow. For a moment as they soared up, there seemed to be a rather peculiar mass dropped by Yadon. It was small, and it fell onto the sands, bouncing a tad before lying to a rest.

    Yadon: -6E/-10H Sub: 10/10 ==///== Columbia: -5E/-5H

    Yadon looked down from his position as prey right now. The island was still pretty large, but what began to strike fear in the little pink Pokemon's mind was that Columbia's flight trajectory suddenly sped up---directly toward the island. Wriggling as hard as he could, Yadon tried to break free.

    It was no use, as Columbia made sure to slam that little demonic water dweller face first into the middle of the beach with all her might, before pulling up to avoid impact herself. Yadon was headed toward one spot, but some odd force suddenly tugged at him. Knowing full well what just happened, Yadon cried out in pain as his Sub came into view. Yadon hit the Sub he created, blasting it apart and wound up embedded in the sands; face first.

    Although the Sub did cushion the impact, it wasn't as helpful as Yadon would have liked. at least he could relax though, and that big dopey grin on his mouth came back

    Err... why didn't Yadon make a Substitute and then chill? I understand he was being held, but he should've been able to create a Substitute anyhow; and during the last action, he should definitely have been able to chill after Columbia's attack.

    Ahk... Yadon, allow yourself to be trapped in the Rock Tomb, and then Teleport onto Columbia's back. Hold on tight, and hit him with a nice Zap Cannon from close range. If that hits the damage cap, just chill while holding on to that aerodactyl; if it doesn't, Ice Beam her.

    ===Round 5===

    Although with a blasted Substitute, Yadon didn't feel too horrible. He shifted around in the sand, enjoying the warm feel all over. In fact, it got to a point where there were large sections of increased warmth all over him.

    O wait, that was pain. Yadon barely poked his head out the sand-to witness the last of a tonnage of Rocks enTombing him. However, as Columbia flew away (to most likely bask in the sun's rays) Yadon began to eminate a hefty glow..

    Columbia banked around to look at her work, and set up her next move-when suddenly, a heavy weight appeared on her back. Turning to see what landed there-imagine her surprise to see Yadon, all smiles on her!

    Yadon: -8E/-8H ==///== Columbia: -5E

    Columbia felt nervous all of a sudden. With that little sucker on her back, her next command was utterly pointless. That point was driven home with a shock-as her body seized up.

    Yadon released his Zap Cannon from his tail directly into the back of her head. With such a shock at close range, Columbia's altitude dropped, to Yadon's dismay.

    Yadon: -7E ==///== Columbia: -14H *par*

    As the y both fell toward the ocean, Columbia regained her senses, and flapped her wings, halting her descent. However, Yadon wasn't ready for the hard stop, and bounced on her back. Columbia then shot straight up, enraged at this fat little morsel, and began to perform aerial somersaults and corkscrews.

    It was only a matter of time before Yadon lost his grip, and was subsequently caught by Columbia. Only, in her Thunder-spewing Jaws. As the electricity raced in his system, Yadon did the only thing he could do.

    Point Blank Ice Beam to the snout.

    Columbia would have screamed, if her mouth wasn't full, and as such, the duo spiralled down-crashlanding on the island.

    Yadon: -8E/-16H ==///== Columbia: -5E/-19H

    (-4 from crash landing)

    I...don't think Columbia's waking up from that one.

    With Yadon being the survivor, Dragonis pulls out his second competitor of the match. Dry beats echo across this island as a Mothim is released to the skies. Knowing his energy is low, Yadon tries to use his waning resources wisely, as he's more than willing to frickacee the little insect..

    Or would have been, had the light of the world not been thrown into his retinas! Yelping with a sudden start, Yadon's Flamethrower shot wildly. Flames spewed by Kaze, who moved away from them just enough to evade again if necessary.

    Yadon: -8E *Blinded* ==///== Kaze: -3E

    The second series of Flames didn't cause too much damage, except make some glass shards from all the sand. Yadon was still seeing spots and dots and ink blots all kinda looking like disfigured Mothims. Kaze didn't care, as he fluttered down upon the sand, and flapped his wings repeatedly, until he was under the sand..

    Wait no. When he reappeared, briefly..he was the same color of the sand. Oh man. Camoflauge..

    Yadon: -2E ==///== Columbia: -3E

    Out of energy, Yadon tried to spew a Flamethrower, but nothing came out. Nothing. He slammed his tail against the ground, feeling the fatigue of the battle, and now felt scared. His vision wasn't back, and his hearing was next to useless since the ocean was splashing on shore. Worst of all-Kaze was not making a sound. ...

    Until right then. Yadon cringed in pain, immense pain as Sound waves of a particular frequency rained over him. Tail whipped around for awhile before the sound ended, leaving Yadon on his side in agony.

    'nother 2 V 2

    ===Rules===

Sandstorm lasts for twice as long because of the infinite amount of sand on the island.'

    ===Round 8===

    Well, with Yadon off the field, the ocean seems to be a less viable place for this battle. However, Kaze doesn't mind the sea breeze. Freed from his hiding spot, he flaps around as an Absol takes Yadon's place. Aptly named Fatality, the femme fatale stares at her partially sand-colored opponent, pondering what was its first action.

    And WOW! That Flash REALLY wasn't what Fatality had in mind, as she growled her disgust in Kaze's general direction. Flames flew out in erratic order, Kaze watching them fly high and to the left.

    Fatal: -8E -1 Acc==///== Kaze: -3E

    Trying to regain her sight, Fatality lost her positioning of Kaze. Kaze however, reblended in with the sand. Fatale shot some flames to her left, thinking she heard the bug over there, but...no good!

    *thud*

    crap..dropped my mic....wait...where's Kaze..

    Kaze...

    Kaze??

    KKAAAAZZZEEE! </ MGS reference>

    Fatal: -8E -1 Acc==///== Kaze: -3E

    Wincing still, Fatality's vision started to reemerge. But to her dismay, that Moth was gone? What the heck was going on. She pawed softly over the sand, hardly making a sound. Knowing her last command, she waited, with bated breath, but no sign of him..

    What sucks is that I lost Kaze too, so I dun even know where the hell he is...

    Oh, whoa! Fatality just got struck by some sort of Buzzing sound, and she is NOT happy about it at all. She runs and trips, landing face first, and AH THERE! I just saw Kaze hop from the ground and scuttle over to the right before Fatality spotted him. Crafty feller.

    Fatal: -12H ==///== Kaze: -6E

    Alright Kaz, hit Fatality with another Bug Buzz. After that nail her with Air Slash. Then try out your Hidden Power. Let's see what type it is. Remember to try to stay hidden so Fatal has a harder time hitting you.

    Uhh... I have to ask why Kaze's type isn't changed?
