Dark Sage versus CEB (Ref, DarkestLight)

Okay, I have a question: Anyone here read my fic, "Storming Heaven's Gates" in the fanfic forum?

If you have, you may remember that one member of the villainous organization challenges the hero to a Chosen One Battle, a Pokemon battle using special rules. I'm want to make an open challenge using the same rules.

First, here are the ground rules.

DQ Time: One week

Disallowed moves: Rest, Substitute, Destiny Bond, Perish Song, any pure status inflictors (like Toxic and Thunder Wave) and any pure healers (like Recover)

Arena: Since the chapter in question took place in a city park, we'll do the same here. (I trust Heatran won't show up in this one.)

Now, here are the special rules:

Each trainer uses three Pokémon. One out at a time.

Before the battle starts, each trainer chooses the three Pokémon beforehand. Then, he tells his opponent the identities of those three Pokémon.

Whenever either trainer must send out a Pokémon, he doesn’t choose it. His opponent chooses one of his remaining Pokémon for him.

Keep in mind, this condition applies to both trainers.

As for who attacks first, the ref will decide that at random.

So, any takers? (We need a ref too, by the way.)

===Round 1===

As children quietly play on the left and therefore far side of the park, I stand here in the midst of what will soon turn into a very heated battle.

Dark Sage and Crazy Elf both give each other a nod, before their chosen Pokemon each walk out onto the battlefield. A strange stipulated match this is, with each opponent showing the other their Pokemon, and the opponent choosing who starts first.

In the end, it is a Scyther vs a Shiftry that will start. Slashers clashes his blades together, and begins to bob and weave, all the while moving closer and closer to Oak. Oak dosen't care, in fact, Oak seems glad the Scyther is making his life easier. A small aggregation of rocks suddenly fall upon Slashers, slamming him down upon the ground,

Using his newfound strength to burst free from the tonnage, Slashers bursts forward with a dazzling array of speed. Speed that Oak was...matching? Unsure of what the heck happened here, Slashers split himself up in front of Oak's eyes, and when there was one now sped 4. Oak stopped his pursuit, and focused long enough to throw a barrage of Seeds in a circle. The Bullet like projectiles ripped through all standing nearby, and Slash was struck. His clones though, evaporated.

Slashers didn't like how this was faring, and so dashed in to try and land a successful strike upon Oak. Oak watched the incoming bug, and built up a sizable Shadowball, its aura roaring with the screams of the dead.

Slashers flew directly into the monstrosity, but was able to survive the impact while still airborne, barreling into Oak and forcing his blades into Oak's sides, almost Breaking them off. Realizing how deep they were embedded, Slashers flicked both arms simultaneously, dropping Oak like a sack of Bricks.

Oak stands up, its weird clog shaped feet finding their balance again (seriously, the thing wears clogs? Weeeird!). Slash speeds forward, as all Scythers can, and ...dashes away before shooting up. Thrown off, Oak plays this game and dives right. Sash spots this, and wonders what the heck is going on. But when Slash turned right top speed by and investigate, Oak was there, as slapped him across the face as he sped by!

Feeling back on pace here, Slash rushed forward again, Oak no match for the regained speed. A brilliant slash across Oak's right arm was delivered, almost sounded like it was broken! Oak freaked, and yelled in pain. His yell however, began to distort reality for Slash, whom crashed and burned in the grass of this park immediately after trying to speed away.

Heightened wing beats were heard immediately as Oak turned toward the recovering Slash. As Slash flew back and forth, regaining his steadiness. Oak focused his power, channeling a great deal of Dark energy into his hands.

Slash turned around, angered he was struck with such a discombobulating move, and raged, ready to sink his scythes into that wooden scarecrow. However, Slasher's attack fell short, as he was directly connected upon by Oak's Pulse of energy, forcing him back and causing him to crash and burn again.

Oak-enjoying this match so far, beckons Slash to try and hurt him. As he goads the Scyther, who screeches in rage, Oak focuses his mind to take the pain he's gonna get.

And boy, does Slasher bring it. Flying right into Oak's face, those insect Wings beat against Oak, the attack shocking him as much as it hurts him. But, he still holds his ground, a faint blue aura beginning to encircle him

Flying upward, Slasher then performed an Air loop, the wind directed at Oak to complete a Slashing motion that cut split twigs out of Oak's mane, and just generally sucked to absorb. Oak held on, holding his pain in. The aura grew to a strong blue...

Slashers landed, arms crossed. As they glew with a deep green aura, Oak knew this was do or die. Slasher streaked forward, screeching as if he was moving in for the final act. Whence it seemed all was over for Oak, his eyes flashed red, and he unleashed his Bide, to the amazement and utter anguish of Slashers, who blasted himself right into it. The amount of Flying energy that had been delivered to Oak was now redirected to him. Unable to push himself through the waves, he was thrown backwards, wings severely hurt by the attack.

Oak panted, feeling the strain on his body.

After that levelling attack Slashers rights himself and takes a once over. Nothing seems heavily bruised, and he was glad for that. Because he was going to make that tree into a baseball bat. Sprinting forward again, Slashers would end up shooting past Oak, as Oak suddenly split into copies of himself. Not to be outdone-Slashers completed the same action and now..

we're left with a field interspersed of Oak's and Slashers.

Both opponents not liking how this turned out, each would begin to call upon the Winds of nature. Oak's had a Razor sharp crispness to them that cut through the mass of clones as easily as Slashers Silvery Winds of revenge. Both Pokemon were struck full force by the attacks because as luck would have it-they were standing right next to each other!

Clones dissipated as fast as they appeared, Oak tried to mount an offense swiftly. He knew that bug was faster, and with all his might, he tried to get off that Extrasensory first. Slasher wound up being hit by that blast, but not before he flew straight up and fired another Air Slash downward at Oak. Oak didn't see it coming until his Extrasensory knocked Slash out of the sky.

Man, what a ferocious fight in this city park. Slashers given up on being just your average moody Scyther. No no, he's out for blood. Battered and bruised, he once again takes the high road, and uses the momentum from his flailing blades to create a thick choppy Air Slash that flies directly at Oak. The oncoming wind attack dosen't scare the tree, as he holds out his gnarled hands and creates a shield to deflect that blast away. Howling winds blow over and around him, giving Oak an idea to end this mess

Having enough of this tree blocking him left and right. Scyther screeches and rips my eardrums apart as he bolts downward. Blades accentuated in a light green arua, he streaks for Oak-who's also beginning to glow, brilliantly. Oak takes off, hands to his sides head down and ready to crash into Slash!

O damn GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!

::Our ref takes a moment to dive as if he's just barely escaped a building that had a severe gas leak with a roaring fireplace going in the middle of the winter. The resulting boom threw him down a ways through the park, and the body of Slasher could be seen sailing high....and then coming down with a trail of smoky dust following his trajectory.

As for Oak, well-he's crawling out of the crater they made, shaking. but he succumbs to the pain and collapses-exactly when Slashers hits the ground. For good.

Huh. DKO. Niiice.

With the first part of the battle done, two new pokemon emerge, and we begin anew. Kandy, DS's Sealeo, really tries to dish out the pain with an Ice Beam. Lizard Boy however, knows the danger of such an attack, and throws up a shield in time to deflect that Beam totally.

As the last wisps of the beam trail off, Lizard Boy begins hectically throwing parts of the ground up and at Kandy. Kandy scoots forward a tad, and tries a different type a beam this one more wavy like and harder to fully stop. It connects, giving Lizard a sharp chill. However, Kandy's suddenly smashed in the head by a series of falling..Rocks? The stuff that Lizard Boy flung had finally descended, enTombing her partially. She cried out in pain, as some of it was sharp.

Stalemate so far folks with no Pokemon seeming worse off than the other. Kandy though has her rear stuff under rock, giving Lizard Boy time to get a full head of steam. Energies of a mythical Nature shroud the Rushing Dragon, as he dives in for a direct hit. He scores one, his head slamming right into Kandy's midsection. Managing to knock her loose, Kandy adeptly slams on her tail, and tries to Slam herself forward, right on the newly stopped Bagon. It works, and she ends the round sitting on him!

===Round 7===

Kandy claps for joy for the moment, as lizard Boy shakes his head clear. That was a whoooole lotta blubber to be under. To even the charade here, Lizard Boy tries for a long range approach. Kandy obliges, charging up that pristine alpine energy. Unrelenting wisps of darkened reddish blue energy swirl around Lizard's mouth, before it erupts into a Pulse of Dragonic fury!

The pulse streaks toward Kandy, who fires back with an Arctic blast that connects with the Pulse head on-and cancels it. Both Pokemon watch the outcome, noting that the explosive reaction left no mark on either. Damn.

Satisfed with that outcome, Lizard quickly hops around, and begins to create a Team of which he could try and take down the Double wide Kandy with.Unhappy with her Ice Beam being canceled, Kandy slaps the ground hard with her flippers creating a series of tremors that cause the Bagons' to lose their collective balance.

Lizard Boy stood back up, only to spot he was the only one again.

Unsure what the Dragon might do next Kandy begins to call out to the skies, hoping for an answer. It would seem so, as the temperature begins to drop sharply. Lizard acts fast, careening at Kandy and landing a swift blow from the Shadows. Claw marks are left on Kandy's backside as a reminder, but Kandy dosen't flinch! She, instead, turns to stare as ALizard soon cowers to the cold, shivering as a massive Blizzard takes its full effect around him. Curling into a ball, the attack railed on him relentlessly-and then just as fast as it appeared, it was gone. But it left a very cold Bagon in its wake.

Kandy winces at the scrapes on her back, as Lizard crawls back a ways, shivering.

This match is heating up. Well, no, it's cooling down as Kandy lets out a few hoarse cries, before blowing wind around. The wind picks up speed, and begins to drastically change the weather in the area. Hail begins to form from the condensed water vapor, and man, are they getting large. Lizard Boy hops to and fro, evading the chunks, all the while holding his hands up-yelling for something. And look at that! Someone answered! The skies parted and rays of Sun beamed down toDay. This match really IS heating up!

Lizard Boy shivered one last time, and jumped for joy happy the sun was here to help him. Kandy though, wasn't so pleased, and scooted her way over to him. Upon reaching his area, Lizard Boy quickly rapped her backwards, with a Rock. Miffed, Kandy turned her back to Lizard, and swung her Tail viciously. Lizard Bounced back and continued shucking Rocks at Kandy, who used her Iron rod of a tail to bash through them repeatedly, until her tail was numb and enTombed in rock

Kandy stopped moving, as she was tired from the Rock barrage, and Lizard ran up to her, laughing. A final twack across Lizard's face set the record straight however. Kandy though slid back slowly, as her tail was sore now.
