Dragonb@ll: Spirit Unleashed
The Saiyans: born and bred to be the greatest warriors in the universe, they are widely respected and feared throughout the galaxy as a force to be reckoned with. A warlord named Frieza, in fear of what this race could become, enslaved the Saiyans and added them to his growing empire. King Vegeta of the Saiyan's homeworld, led a force of his most elite warriors in rebellion against Frieza, however, they were vastly outmatched by the superior warrior. With their most powerful warriors destroyed, the planet succumbed to Frieza's empire and all rebellion was subdued. The king's son, Prince Vegeta, as well as his cohort were already loyal to Frieza, and in order to stem any rebellion from one of his most prized warriors, Frieza told the young Vegeta the planet had been destroyed by meteors. However, this was not the case.
Frieza, in his lust for power, searched for the Dragonballs, a quest that brought him face to face with his worst fear: a Super Saiyan. Goku, a Saiyan raised on Earth, defeated Frieza and unwittingly freed the planet Vegeta from slavery. Vegeta and Goku returned to Earth, mistaken in belief that they were the only two Saiyans left.
Within a year of Frieza's death, the Saiyans caught wind that Frieza had been defeated and rebelled against Frieza's men. Under the moonlight, they used their transformation powers to free themselves and once they had regained control, turned on each other. For generations the Saiyan underclasses had endured suffering, either at the hands of the Saiyan elites who persecuted them, or at the hands of Frieza. A civil war broke out between those who believed themselves to be elite and thus should be the ruling classes, and those who believed that all Saiyans should be equal. This bloody war consumed the planet with many victims. Many Saiyans fled the planet. The war eventually lost all meaning and the planet became a war-zone.
After 10 years of non-stop fighting, a victor claimed the throne that so many had shed their blood over. He established himself as undisputed ruler of the planet, overriding Vegeta's claim on the throne as Vegeta had betrayed them to join Frieza. A small band of people still loyal to the king were exiled and were sentenced to be shot into a distant sun; however, they managed to rewire the ship en route, and flew to Earth in order to find their king.
Earth itself had seen its fair share of war by the time the Saiyans had arrived; an invasion of androids had taken thousands of lives, and the awakening of Majin Buu eventually led to the death of nearly everyone on the planet. When the Saiyan arrived, they found that their saviour king, Vegeta, had grown old and somewhat subdued; although he was happy to hear the planet was still intact, he had made a home and family on Earth and no longer cared for the petty squabbles of his forgotten people. The Saiyan refugees soon saw that life on Earth was better, and the children of these Saiyans had proved that this could be their new home, and thus settled there.
Many decades past without much incident; an occasional threat, but never one to even match the Cell fiasco. The original Z-Fighters died and their generations carried on their fighting spirit: the annual Tenkachi Budokai was often dominated by the children of the older generations.
A new threat is on the horizon, however, and soon the future generation of fighters will be called upon to defend the Earth.

A few guidelines:
This is set roughly 100 years after the Majin Buu Saga, so pretty much all of the characters from the original series will be dead or gone. Feel free to go for any race you feel like, as long as you have an interesting story to show why your character is on Earth. I don't mind if people have more than one character as long as you can handle it. I'm not going to restrict people on being humans, androids, Nameks, Saiyans, furries/anthropomorphs, aliens etc., just make it believable. I don't want to see Frieza's second cousin deciding to move to Earth because it looks nice.
Other than that, no real restrictions. You're all mature enough not to go blowing up everything. As a guide, we're going to gun for everyone starting at about the power the likes of Nappa, Piccolo, Tien and such were at during the Saiyan saga, although your characters will get stronger, don't worry! I'm not going to monitor you or give you arbitrary power levels, just go for what you want.
As a side note, I've deliberately left the roles of people like the Sacred Guardian (who obviously should be Namekian) and whoever wants to be the descendants of Vegeta and Bulma, and thus the heirs of Capsule Corp., free. As you can also imagine, whoever is the descendant of Gohan and Videl would probably inherit Hercule's empire as well, so feel free to get creative with your characters if you want to intertwine them with Z-Fighters gone by. Or, create a completely new one! Also, if you do decide to have a descendant character, you may want to leave room for a brother/sister/cousin if you want, or you may not, in which case explicitly say so. The one restriction I must ask is please don't play anyone villianous: we have it covered. Only Blademaster and myself will flesh out a villain. For now, anyway.
Other than that, happy gaming!

My character:
Name: Zaito Zhin (pronounced Shin)
Race: Human
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Appearance: He is a tall man, around 6' 4" and muscular, but also athletically built and not bulging with muscles. Only his shoulder are broad really, although when he does get pumped up, he does look noticeably bigger, although not significantly so. He has slightly tanned white skin, so he's neither pale nor dark-skinned. He had short black hair that's spiked on top, although short spikes.
He doesn't wear a traditional dogi but instead wears loose-fitting dogi-like clothes but are far more casual. He wears a light t-shirt colored a very dark blue that's almost black, and also has a large v-neck that extends to the bottom of his sternum, revealing some of his chest. His pants are baggy and loose-fitting too and are the same-coloured. His t-shirt bears the logo of the Azure Dragon school on the right of the chest and a bigger logo on the back. He almost always wears blue flip-flops with an orange band, and generally fights bare-foot. He has orange wristbands.
Personality: A somewhat reserved character, he is dedicated to his training and his beliefs. A generally moral man, he finds peace in balance and harmony. He is always willing and ready to do the right thing and is unafraid to speak his mind. While he is mostly calm and stoic, high-pressure situations can often unleash great emotions in his heart, something that he finds incredibly difficult to reel in once he lets them out. One problem he does have is he can be slightly cocky about a situation, although he is quick to realise when a situation takes a turn for the worse.
History: As a passionate 5-year old, he was already a strong and accomplished fighter, easily able to beat people with many more years of experience in his fighting school. Impressed with his technique, he was recommended to become a monk under the school of the Azure Dragon. As revered a school as the Turtle or Crane schools, he soon became a talented warrior and very quickly became eligible to learn their most revered and ancient techniques. While many people who reach this level can take a decade to master some of these techniques, Zaito had managed to learn every technique in three and a half years, although had not quite mastered all of them. To be proficient in all twelve techniques is a feat that many try and spend a lifetime, meaning he was singled out as a spectacular warrior in his school. His master commented that the last person to do so was his own master, one of the temple's and humanity's greatest warriors, and believed that soon Zaito would surpass even him. By the age of 15, he had mastered the Bird Form, whereas he has only just managed to master the Boar Form.
Techniques: As mentioned, he is learned in the ancient ways of the Azure Dragon school. Much like the Crane and Turtle schools had their own techniques, so does the Azure Dragon school, which relies on using the heart in order to give them strength. Monks do not waste emotions by screaming or getting upset, but instead unleash as pure power, hence why the monks remain disciplined and stoic. However, the more advanced school draws techniques from 5 schools (including the Turtle and Crane schools). In total, there are twelve core techniques, each one named after the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. To perfect a technique can lead to a Form, a sustainable perfection of that technique for as long as the user can concentrate. As the RPG goes on, what each technique does will be revealed, but here are some of the more basic ones: Bird is flying, Tiger is offensive fighting, Monkey is mimicry, Dragon is energy. To use all 12 techniques in unison is said to be the ultimate power, and almost unreachable.
Relationships: None at the moment.

Powering-Up/Transformation Theme
Desperation/Sorrow Theme
Other: Is entering the Tenkaichi Budokai.
