Speaking of Grimer, this is going to be terribly irritating... I don't own anything to counter that nasty moveset. Which reminds me, I really should get a Misdreavus... maybe I'll catch one instead of using an evolution.

I suppose I'll use Kage, my male Absol. He hasn't gotten to battle yet.

This match is going on in an abandoned power plant on the out skirts of town, a small tumble weed rolls across the floor as both these battlers get the fight started. MLG sends out a small purple goop which some hows moves to the centre of the field while Lune releases a small white dog with a blade on its head ready for action. Kage the Absol opens up his mouth and tries to shout some insults at Kurotsuchi, but he lets out a loud screech which drowns out the sound.

As the ringing in Kage’s ears hasn’t stopped Kurotsuchi spews up a toxic ball of goop from within his gooey body and throws it at Kage. Kage sees it coming but is unable to move as it hits him before quickly soaking into his body. He responds by whipping up an icy wind with his horn and sends it in Kurotsuchi’s direction before bowling over the goop.

With the poison running through his veins Kage races into the fray hitting Kurotsuchi reeling him back holding his morpheous body with his gooey hands. With his enemy so close to him he pulls out some serious fast moves and punches Kage in the gut with his right fist.

The blubbery mass that is Kurotsuchi wobble around and finds some assorted pieces of machinery and puts them into a small piles before throwing them at Kage like the rocks which he should have used. Kage brushes it off and races into and headbutts Kurotsuchi giving him some off his attack back and then some more.

Kage begins to charge up a small bolt of lighting but before he can fire it his mind races and is flooded with 1000 thoughts at once. These thoughts mess up his train of thought and cause him to hit himself. Kurotsuchi laughs at Kage’s misfortune and fires a huge bolt of lighting which strikes Kage freezing up his muscles.

Kurotsuchi looks around the field quickly for something to throw at Kage till he finds a small computer power supply; throwing it at Kage it hits him and sparks on contact with Kage’s paralysed body causing it to explode. Kage just shakes his head and runs into the fray head butting Kurotsuchi.

Oh my god I don't like this new-generation pokédex. Of course Grimer learns Zap Cannon, it just doesn't show because Zap Cannon is an old TM >_>

I'm very confused about why Natural Gift did damage though? Has it been shown in the animé? Because according to the game if no berry is held it has a base power of 1.

Aaaanyway Kage, I screwed up. Again. Sorry. I really should just stop battling people until I get my act together. This is embarrassing.

Use Veekun. It list all moves available. Although when you check evolved pokemon, it doesn't list their egg/breeding moves anymore so you'll have to go back to the basic form to check out those

About Natural Gift, you should check out the ASB Move List. It explains how things like Hidden Power, Natural Gift and Secret Power work (and any other move ofcourse).

And don't think about quiting with battling. Just get the hang of it again, which is only possible by trial and error. It's no biggy.

Now for attacks; Psych Up won't do nothing so hit it hard with a Dynamic Punch. Then follow that up with a Minimize to avoid the Psycho Cut. Finish with your most powerfull move, Gunk Shot.

Kage looks deep within him self and focuses his energy and then looks at Kurotsuchi taking in all his aspects and pouring them into his own body and mind. Kurotsuchi smirks at this moment of complete vulnerability and races over towards him as fast as he can with his fists ready to punch but before he can make contact he suddenly misses and he has no idea why.

Kage begins to charge up a powerful psychic blast in his scythe on the top of his head by before he can release it his mind races and he becomes confused and hits himself with his paws. Kurotsuchi on the other hand waiting for an attack makes himself smaller and smaller making him harder to hit.

Kage charges up another attack by rushing towards Kurotsuchi with his head down ready to strike but midway on his journey his is taken down by the muscles in his body suddenly convulsing. Kurotsuchi just laughs and fires a huge ball of toxic poison seemingly made from nothing at Kage completely covering him in the goop. With that shot Kage snaps out of his harrowing confusion.

Ah, thanks for the links. My problem is that I can't stand repeated poor performance; I get excessively annoyed at myself whenever I make mistakes. That's possibly another reason I quit battling the first time. I used to get annoyed at myself even when I won if I'd made mistakes during the battle.

Ugh, damn randomizer has to be difficult to the end, huh? We don't have much time left, but I guess we can see if tiring him out does anything useful. Our rolls can't get any worse so I guess there's no harm in chancing the flip of a coin.

Protect yourself from the combo attack, Detect the Thunderbolt, then crush that tiny Grimer under your weight with a Body Slam.

Well Toxic takes out 16HP next round, so that's enough for KO, but I didn't want such a cheap-ass end

I'm gambling under the assumption that 0% energy will be a KO, which it may or may not be. There's a 0% chance of winning by knocking out Mayuri HP-wise at this point because I don't have time to do it by the end of next round, even if Kage takes no damage for 4 turns. There's a 25% chance that paralysis will kick in for the first and second turns, and a 50% chance on the second turn that Detect will fail.

If any of these conditions fail, I lose anyway. I'm gambling a lot here And considering previous randomizer rolls, Kage is going down this round.

CEB doesn't ref energy KO's. When a pokemon has 0 energy it will use 1HP as 1EN. That's just something I know by battling here a lot, so you don't have the advantage here, which is kinda unfair. Sorry.

Eh, doesn't matter either way, it was a loss since the first round's Taunt failed I wanted to open with Substitute to prevent Toxic, but there were two ways to stop it, namely Taunt and Imprison. I could only hope that Kage would pull off Taunt before whatever you did to prevent it, which did not happen. Taking Toxic in the first round of a 1v1 is a loss And of course Grimer's immunity to Toxic frustrated me sooo much. I couldn't pull out Magic Coat while I was attacking first, either... You could've just used Substitute and then Toxic.

The Screech hurt too, which was why I even bothered to use Psych Up. I expected Counter to return double damage but CEB made Kage take more damage due to screech and didn't reflect it 2x back; I would've done more damage using some other attack. I would have Countered the Natural Gift too, but I assumed that it would've had a base power of 1. And then the Zap Cannon fiasco x_X I remembered in the back of my mind that Grimer could use Zap Cannon but I checked the pokédex and didn't see it there so I assumed my memory was wrong.

Thanks for the battle, though, Grimer is one nasty customer. ^_^; Reminds me of the old days when Prodigy and I were choosing between Koffing and Grimer. I went with Koffing, he went with Grimer. He was telling me I was silly for not picking Grimer, Imprison is such an incredible move. I picked Koffing for Explosion, Destiny Bond, and Pain Split. Oh, he was soooo right though.

But you inspired me to get a Misdreavus for Imprison, thank you I was having a hard time deciding what new addition I wanted for my team, or if I wanted an evolution instead.

Lune just for reference in ASB any move like Counter, Mirror Coat or anything that deals double damage in the game only deals a bit more. So really its More damage for less energy.

Kurotsuchi pretty confident in his win rushes in using the powers of the shadow to sneak in close to Kage and the he brings out a massive punch but he finds that both his sneak attack and his punch where met with the unpleasant surprise of a green shield protecting Kage from harm.
