Hi everyone! This is the ever-popular (or so I think) Kurosakura reporting live from the world-class luxury cruise ship, the one and only S. S. Anne! We're gathered at the top of this beauty at around the pool area, featuring a gorgeous in-ground pool with several chairs, tables, umbrellas, and plenty of bystanders passing by. Metallixs Girl heads toward more of the poolside and sends out Sterling, her male Skarmory! Hey buddy, I've been seeing you and your Trainer a lot lately! Kyuuketsuki ducks under a more shaded area of the ship, probably because his name means vampire or something, and sends out his Phanpy! Welcome aboard, and try not to get wet, little guy! I, on the other hand, lounge on a beach chair away from sunlight as well. I'm young, I don't want to get wrinkles early or skin cancer!

Metallixs Girl: “All right Sterling, Metal Sound, Air Slash, then Swords Dance! ”

Kyuuketsuki: “Ok I'll use Rock Slide, Rollout then Toxic. ”

Sterling starts us off with a deafening Metal Sound, causing poor little Phanpy to cringe and cover his ears. However, he sends down a flurry of rocks from nowhere, crashing into that armor bird!

Phanpy: -4 EN, -2 Sp. Def.
Sterling: -9 HP, -6 EN

Sterling gets back at Phanpy with an Air Slash, striking at him relentlessly with razor-sharp winds! That's not nice, Phanpy's ears still hurt from that gawd-awful Metal Sound! He starts rolling about with a Rollout, ramming right into Sterling aggressively.

Phanpy: -7 HP, -4 EN
Sterling: -5 HP, -6 EN

Sterling starts spinning round and around with Swords Dance! Phanpy uncurls and lobs a Toxic blob at Sterling, but it promptly gets whipped away by the winds generated by Swords Dance. Not that Toxic would affect Sterling anyway. Sorry, Mr. Vampire!

Sterling: -8 EN, +2 Atk.

Phanpy starts off the battle by slamming himself against Sterling's steel body and hitting himself in the process! However, Sterling takes it upon himself to up his defense while he's at it

Okay, so last time didn't go so well. Let's do it again, eh? Phanpy starts flailing at Sterling with a Double-Edge, but this armor bird gets angry and takes flight. He gains some altitude and comes diving back down, exacting revenge on the little elephant and taking some recoil damage as well.

Sterling: -8 HP, -8 EN

Phanpy, irritated that Sterling keeps brushing him off and coming back at him with more force, decides to Slam against him! Sterling, not appreciating the fact that he got hit, sends Phanpy flying and crashing into a chair.

Sterling: -4 HP, -5 EN

WHAT!? NO. NO. NOOOOOOOO~! Phanpy whips up a pseudo sandstorm by using the dust and dirt and grime accumulated by the ship, NASTY! Anyways, that stuffs getting in everyone's faces and the pool, and the only ones who aren't affected seem to be the Ground, Rock, and Steel Pokemon, meaning both combatants are... completely fine. Laughing at Phanpy and Kyuuketsuki's sandstorm, which actually helps Sterling, he starts taunting him about his Trainer, causing him to be very, very angry.

Phanpy: -5 EN, Sandstorm 5, Taunted
Sterling: -7 EN

Phanpy breaks apart some of the material he's standing on to throw stuff at Sterling to trap him and slow him down. However.. he deals some damage, but doesn't cut his speed. Instead, he flies up into the air.

Phanpy: -7 EN
Sterling: -7 HP, -4 EN

Okay, chucking rocks the first time didn't do the trick, so chucking them a second time will do, right? Wrong! The rocks completely miss Sterling, who navigated around them amazingly, despite the make-shift sandstorm, and he comes back with a vengeance.

Phanpy: -7 HP, -6 EN
Sterling: -5 EN

A similar situation happened in my 6 on 6 battle with Mew Master...in one round I mistakenly went first instead of second, when I should have gone first, so I got two consecutive rounds of going second to make up for my mistake. I know it's kinda silly, but sometimes, you do have to find a way to make up for it.

Before Sterling can do anything, Phanpy freezes some of the pool water and drops a hunk of ice on Sterling! Sterling shrugs it off and blows away that disgusting sandstorm by flapping his wings really fast. THANK YOU!

Phanpy ambushes Sterling with another Ice Shard, and Sterling retaliates by blasting an Icy Wind at him. Talk about revenge!

Phanpy: -10 HP, -4 EN
Sterling: -6 HP, -1 EN

Once again, Phanpy drops a cone of ice on Sterling, but that barely fazes him, and that metal bird sends back another Icy Wind. Sigh. It's getting really cold... And here I was, hoping I could enjoy a cruise, but instead I'm here reffing a battle and getting my butt frozen off!

Sterling starts this round off by flapping his wings really hard and sending this weird, but somehow pretty, purple wind at Phanpy. Phanpy, sick of getting beaten upon by Sterling, decides to rocket himself at the armor bird, smashing him across several tables and injuring himself in the process.

Phanpy: -16 HP, -8 EN
Sterling: -21 HP, -5 EN

Before Sterling can do anything to get back up, Phanpy drops another block of ice on his head, keeping him down, but not before blasting another wave of purple wind at him.

Sterling, mad with rage, sends yet another Ominous Wind at Phanpy, doing just enough damage to knock him out, not to mention get himself some nice stat boosts as well!
