Gym Match: Chaos Redefined vs. Weasel Overlord (Ref: Greyfox)

I am challenging you to a gym match.

Arena: The Firefly

The battle take place in the silent world of space and both opponents start on the surface of the Firefly class ship, Serenity. Trainers are provided with space suits, and Pokemon with an indestructible, blue-tinged bubble of oxygen about their heads at all times.

While they are in contact with the ship’s surface, gravity holds, but as soon as they leave the surface, whether to jump in the air, or to dodge an attack, gravity takes a vacation and the Pokemon may go floating off into space. Luckily, there are handy space-Pokemon who will fetch back any Pokemon who does find himself flying away, bringing it back down to the surface with a penalty of 5(%) health lost through pure terror at the freefalling and lack of gravity.

Every sixth turn, the referee rolls a dice to determine whether Serenity is on the run from the Alliance, with a 30% chance of this being true. If this happens, all participants must use a full turn to hold on for dear life, lest they be lost in the depths of space. During this lost turn, however, each Pokemon regains 20(%) energy, as a result of sitting still and performing no moves.

The top of the Serenity is an uneven place, looking like this. Pokemon can move about the top of the ship at will, and even down the sides if they please, because of the built-in surface gravity field.

Rules.

*As space is a singularly noiseless place, no sound-based attacks will work.
*The same goes for weather moves, as there is obviously no weather in space.
*If a Pokemon loses contact with the surface of Serenity, they will be automatically transported back by one of the referee’s Pokemon, and lose 5(%) health.
*Each Pokemon may only use Double Team once, and instead of its normal lasting time, it will only last one turn, as the clones have no gravity to stop them floating off into space.
*Toxic may not be used, and any powder-based moves have a higher likelihood of failure (70%) due to it being easier for them to disperse.
*Also, Serenity may not be damaged in any way, as this would injure the crew inside.

ROUND ONE
The man who single-handedly redefined the word chaos stands patiently in the brig of the space-pirate ship, staring at the viewing screen, as did the gym leader, Sal. On the viewing screen was two small pokemon dressed up in special spacesuits that allowed them to survive in the coldest, deepest layers of space. They were also equipped with special walkie-talkies so they could hear what their trainers commanded.

The first round commences with Thom Yorke, Sal's agile ambipom, shooting himself forward with dark energy escaping his fists [and, 'ya know, the spacesuit]. The dark energy collides with the tiny spark-plug pokemon (-7% Elekid / -6% T. Yorke). Elekid retalliates by snapping his fingers, sending a shivering jolt of electricity down the monkey's spine (+25% Paralysis T. Yorke / -4% Elekid).

With his speed drastically hindered, Thom is forced to endure Elekid's next attack. But as the elekid screams as loud as he could possibly scream, no one would ever know he was doing so (-2% Elekid). Thom blinked twice before attempting to react, but his body seized, rendering him unable to attack (+5% T. Yorke).

Embarressed, Elekid decides to lunge at his foe with furious anger, bashing the monkey pokemon with his outstretched fist for great damage (-11% T. Yorke / -6% Elekid). Thom sails backward for a few feet before picking himself back up and darting around his adversary, gathering back some lost speed (+20% Speed T. Yorke / -5% T. Yorke).

Elekid powers up for his next attack, but as he does so, Thom leaps forward before throwing his left tail close to him. The elekid yelps, and all his static energy dissipates as the ambipom's other tail bats him in the face (-4% Elekid / -3% T. Yorke).

Elekid shakes off the weak hit and lunges toward his foe with his arms crossed together. The ambipom merely waits stoicly. Elekid crashes harshly into the monkey-mon (-15% T. Yorke / -9% Elekid). Thom attempts to react, but his body refuses to let him do so once more (+5% T. Yorke).

Frustrated, Thom spews out a putrid pile of gunk that collides with the electric pokemon, dealing heavy damage (-12% Elekid / -10% T. Yorke). Elekid wipes the poisons from his body, and shoots off a bolt of electricity which collides with Thom vibrantly (-9% T. Yorke / -6% Elekid).

Wasting no time, Thom fires off a mass of deathly energy that wobbles through space for a few moments before colliding with the tiny sparkplug pokemon (-9% Elekid / -8% T. Yorke). Elekid sails back before pulling himself back together. He darts over to his foe and latches on, tossing him as high as he can (-8% T. Yorke / -4% Elekid). Thom flounders in the air for several seconds until an unclaimed space-mon hurls him back to the ship (-5% T. Yorke).

Slightly flustered, Thom blasts his foe with a series of stars that easily rip through the electric pokemon (-6% Elekid / -3% T. Yorke). Elekid responds with another toss, but Thom manages to stay with the ship this time around (-8% T. Yorke / -4% Elekid).

Elekid stands stoicly -- waiting for his chance to counterattack. The monkey's right paw surrounds itself in an icy block as its owner leaps over toward Elekid. With great force, Thom lets him have it succeeding in both freezing the sparkplug solid (-7% Elekid / -6% T. Yorke / 100% Frozen Elekid) and sending both him and his icy prison into the darkness. The same space-mon is still there, and sends him back to the ship, shattering a few bits of ice (-5% Elekid / -25% Ice). Elekid attempts to counterattack, but is unable to do so because of the ice (+5% Elekid).

Before I post, I just wanna check this...

Clearly you work statuses quite differently to everyone else. What is the difference between different percentages of frozen/paralysis?

Being frozen at 100% means you can't attack whatsoever. Each attack will slowly (5%) chip away the ice until it's completely gone. During such time, you'll have an N% chance of breaking out of the ice and attacking successfully.

Paralysis means that you'll have a 25% (or more, depending on how paralyzed) chance of failing to attack at all.

For both, every time you fail to attack, you regain 5% energy.

And do multiple freezing/paralyzing attacks stack the percentages? e.g. If I use thunderwave on Thom again, will he be paralyzed 50% (or something simlar)? If Thom freezes me, will I be reset to 100% frozen?

Try to melt the ice with Fire Punch. Then use Thunder Wave twice. If the first thunder wave proved that paralysis doesn't stack, instead use meditate. If he magiccoats/snatches on either action, replace that attack with cross chop.

Frozen in the ice, Elekid can do nothing as Thom Yorke taunts him by slapping his ass with his two tails repeatedly (-2% T. Yorke / Elekid Taunted). Furious, the elekid child flares up his arm, managing to free himself from the ice (-75% Frozen Elekid). He flings himself toward the taunting monkeymon, giving him a swift punch to the jaw (-9% T. Yorke / -5% Elekid).

Yorke finds himself rethinking what he just did. However, Elekid comes in for another go, but just misses as Thom spastically flails overhead, smacking him in the back forefully (-6% Elekid / -4% T. Yorke). Getting tired, Elekid starts attacking the monkeymon continuously (-5% T. Yorke / -3% Elekid) before being blasted with the same paralysis that struck his opponent (+25% Paralysis Elekid / -6% T. Yorke).

Yorke). Not the slightest bit happy with his opponent, Elekid retalliates. CHOP! -- his two tiny hands collide with the ambipom's slender frame dealing heavy damage (-20% T. Yorke *Critical* / -8% Elekid).

Pulling himself back together, Thom readies his second attack -- a barrage of hits fueled by his lack of muscle energy. The series of hits cause the electricmon considerable damage (-10% Elekid / -4% T. Yorke). Elekid wants to fight back, but his muscles lock up, leaving him defenseless (+5% Elekid). Feeling smug, Thom fires off another barrage of hits (-10% Elekid / -4% T. Yorke). Once more, Elekid's body refuses to let him react (+5% Elekid).

Thom leaps off the metal ship high into the air, swiftly coming down and poking the electric pokemon in the gut (-6% Elekid / -4% T. Yorke). Elekid wants to retalliate so bad that he can taste it, but his body just refuses to move whatsoever (+5% Elekid). He blames the random gods out there, and attempts once more to attack. His body, however, really doesn't want to cooperate whatsoever (+5% Elekid). Thom merely stands there defensively in case he does come at him (+5% T. Yorke). In an instant, Elekid snaps forward suddenly able to move. Thom braces himself, surrounding his body in an orange aura. Elekid attacks!, dealing enough damage to fell the monkeymon (-15% T. Yorke / -8% Elekid), but Thom's aura strikes out at the last second and bludgeons the eager-to-elebrate Elekid in the back (-11% Elekid / -10% T. Yorke).

With both pokemon down, the referee nods to both trainers -- Weasel Overlord chooses her next pokemon, followed by Chaos Redefined. They will then submit their next attacks in that order.

The battle could still go to anyone as both fallen pokemon are recalled, replaced by two that're very different in size. Pelagia stamps his massive feet on the metal bough of the Firefly, nearly denting it as he does, whilst Slimepot merely smells up his side of the arena. Slimepot begins the round with a few taunts -- certainly unafraid of the larger foe -- he comments on his funny-looking tree (-2% Slimepot / Pelagia Taunted). Pelagia, none too happy with what just happened, summons a barrage of rocks from who knows where to bury the acidic pile of goo (-6% Slimepot / -4% Pelagia / -20% Speed Slimepot).

Nearly trapped under the rubble, Slimepot slowly seeps out of his tomb. But while he's slowed down for the meantime, Pelagia angrily tackles the rubble, sending the rocks (and parts of Slimepot) toward space (-5% Slimepot / -3% Pelagia). Unable to grab onto the ship, Slimepot drifts into space for a few moments until the referee's umbreon, Fenrir, brings him back to the stage via telepathy (-5% Slimepot). Slimepot, out for revenge, shoots toward Pelagia as fast as a slimy puddle of poison can. His icy fist outstretched, he slams it into the grass turtle, causing heavy damage (-14% Pelagia / -7% Slimepot / +100% Frozen Pelagia).

Now with a free shot, Slimepot chucks another icy fist toward Pelagia (-14% Pelagia / -7% Slimepot / -25% Frozen Pelagia), chipping away at the ice that keeps him stiff. Still angry, Pelagia summons a blast of earth energy. The attack is much weaker than it should've been, but it still does a great deal of damage to the acidic pile (-6% Slimepot / -9% Pelagia / -25% Frozen Pelagia).

Pelagia, much faster, and much angrier than foe Slimepot powers through his icy prison [ -50% Frz Pelagia ] and collides with the acidic pile sharply, causing minor damage [ -9HP Slimepot / -4HP Pelagia / -8PP Pelagia ]. Slimepot doesn't bother countering, and instead sacrifices his already hindered speed in favor of bulk [ -5PP Slimepot / -10% Spd Slimepot / +10% Atk Slimepot / +10% Def Slimepot ].

Feeling sinister, the large tortoise stamps the ship once more, sending a shivering shockwave throughout. The rumble rattles the grimer [ -14HP Slimepot / -7PP Pelagia ], who continues to beef himself up [ -5PP Slimepot / -10% Spd Slimepot / +10% Atk Slimepot / +10% Def Slimepot ].

Now slower than the slowest molasses, Slimepot can only watch as Pelagia fires off another blast of earth energy, dealing considerably more damage than before [ -12HP Slimepot / -7PP Pelagia ]. Slimepot notes the attack, and mentally blocks Pelagia from using the attack again [ -7PP Slimepot / Earthpower Disabled ]

Grey, wouldn't earthquake damage the ship, hence going against Weas's rules? At the very least, shaking the ship would have a decent chance of injuring the crew?

Not necessarily. The hull of a spaceship is meant to withstand a lot of pressure and shaking -- especially with artificial gravity and whatnot. The crew wouldn'tve felt much at all from an earthquake localized on the outside of the ship.

Notwithstanding, I see it as if the ship is actually invincible -- trying to damage it whatsoever would be fruitless.
