Alright, it's time for me to make the jump (back) into the ASB reffing scene (for those of you that didn't know, I was a ref in the old ASB, but I'm going to be adapting a new style of reffing much different than the one I used back then; if anyone wants to see one of my old reffings, you can find them in the ASB archive (I was DarkPrince the Dark Knight then).

Anyway, I'll let the battlers make the rules for this battle, but no more than a 3 on 3 please? I'm just starting to get used to how reffing works nowadays, so that I can build up gradually.

The battle begins on the top of a skyscraper. With a fair bit of room for our two battlers here, this could prove to be quite a battle. Flying overhead are two helicopters, each with a couple of pilots and a passenger on each. As the two aircrafts make their landing on the high structure, the two passengers and trainers jump off, safely landing on top of the skyscraper. The first trainer, Metallix's , or MG for short, sends out a male Charmander she calls Cinnamon, while the second trainer, Ayeun, sends out a shiny, nameless Eevee. With that, the two helicopter pilots park their helicopters on top of a nearby tall building. Starting off the battle, Eevee is quick off the bat to use a Sand-Attack, and she manages to find just enough sand to kick towards Cinnamon. But the Charmander closes his eyes before it can enter them, and immediately conjures up 4 clones of himself.

Eevee: -3 Energy
Cinnamon: -2 Energy, +4 clones

Seeing that her first strategy didn't work, Eevee throws up a Toxic at Cinnamon and his clones. Cinnamon isn't about to let the poisonous purple glob strike him so easily though, and he puts up a translucent sphere of energy which the Toxic simply bounces off.

Eevee -5 Energy
Cinnamon: -9 Energy

Eevee, noticing that she failed to get a hit on Cinnamon, decides enough is enough, and she coughs up a second Toxic to attempt to splatter on who she hopes is the real Cinnamon, but the poisonous liquid simply causes its target to vanish on contact. Cinnamon then opens up his mouth, and fires a Will-o-Wisp headed straight for Eevee, and she winces as the tiny blue flames strike her, causing her to cry out from the pain of the burn.

The round begins with Cinnamon's fist going aflame as he uses a Fire Punch on Eevee, making her burn feel a little worse than before. But, the Eevee catches Cinnamon's eyes at that moment, and begins to flutter her eyes at him, making him feel infatuated with her.

Cinnamon however, is able to fight through his newfound attractor, and using a glowing fist, slams a strong Brick Break onto Eevee, as she winces from the pain of being hit with Cinnamon's glowing arm. Payback however is in the cards for Eevee as she dashes right into what she thinks is Cinnamon, this time around she is lucky enough to hit the real Charmander, and Cinnamon reels back as his last few clones all vanish.

Once again, Cinnamon isn't feeling the true effects of being unable to move from attraction, and so he delivers a Fire Fang to Eevee, sinking his flaming fangs into the Eevee's soft fur. Eevee is once again quick to retaliate, and upon being released from Cinnamon's grasp, she rushes toward him again, causing Cinnamon to be sent reeling back again. Once again though, Eevee is reminded of the pain being caused by her burn.

The round begins with Eevee beginning to Swagger Cinnamon into a rage. Throwing terrible insults about how a Charmander can't survive if its tail flame goes out and stuff, Cinnamon's attraction to Eevee suddenly turns to anger, being provoked by the vicious taunts and all. Not liking to take any of this, Cinnamon turns away from his trainer and decides to repeatedly lash at Eevee with his sharp claws, rather than what he had been ordered to do.

Eevee: -4 Health, -2 Energy
Cinnamon: -5 Energy, in a rage due to Swagger

Eevee, having felt the pain of Cinnamon's claws raking through her fur, decides on Yawning at Cinnamon, and as she opens her mouth, she releases a light blue cloud which quickly dissolves on Cinnamon, making him start to feel drowsy. But he is able to listen to his trainer this time, and he breathes out a tornado of fire that encircles Eevee, trapping her inside the flames.

Despite being trapped within the vortex of flames, Eevee is still able to get off a Swift, and she sends off several golden stars at Cinnamon, who slowly retaliates by using a Dragon Claw on her, making his claws glow green with draconian energy before slashing at Eevee. Meanwhile, the burn Eevee already has begins to make her wince again, just as Cinnamon makes a yawn, getting close to falling asleep.

-I don't ref Swagger as how it works in the games (+2 Attack, Confusion), instead, I ref it so that it works similar to Taunt, but a little more stronger on the mind of the affected Pokemon, as they can get a little uncontrollable if their anger gets the better of them. Of course, the one thing below can counter this somewhat.

-When a Pokemon falls under the effects of Yawn, unless stated otherwise, they'll fall asleep 2 actions later.

The round begins with Cinnamon trying to relax a bit, in order to get a little energy back. But, his relaxing is soon overtaken by the sudden urge to fall asleep, and the Charmander does so, falling fast asleep on the spot. Eevee jumps with joy on seeing her opponent fall asleep, and begins to kick what little there is for sand from her imprisonment inside the vortex of flames. But with the low amount of sand in the first place, it doesn't seem to do a thing to the snoozing Cinnamon.

Cinnamon: Asleep

Meanwhile, Cinnamon begins to mumble something in his sleep. Rising back to his feet for a moment, the Charmander fires a Secret Power at Eevee, and Eevee winces in pain as some of the particles from the white beam of energy come off and take refuge on her body, causing her muscles to lock up. As Eevee growls in frustration over being paralyzed, she kicks against the skyscraper's hard surface, creating a cloud of dust which hits Cinnamon, but again, doesn't do much to the sleeping Charmander.

Eevee: -7 Health, -2 Energy, frustrated at the lack of sand inside the Fire Spin area, paralyzed
Cinnamon: -8 Energy, Asleep

Cinnamon begins to stir in his slumber again. Mumbling something, Cinnamon gets to his feet again, and begins to Growl at Eevee, making her feel a little intimidated as her physical attack power drops. Eevee quickly retaliates by firing a Secret Power of her own at the sleeping Cinnamon, despite it having some of the same particles from the one shot at her that paralyzed her earlier, Cinnamon is somehow lucky enough to avoid the same fate, much to Eevee's disappointment. That disappointment quickly turns to a wince, however, as Eevee's burn takes its toll on her once more.

As she painfully dashes through the curtain of fire, she ignores the pain this causes her, and she slams herself into Cinnamon. Despite the sudden hit making him slide back a bit, the Charmander relaxes on the spot, regaining some energy in the process.

With Eevee freed from the vortex of flames that had trapped herearlier, she goes for a Swift on Cinnamon, sending a few of the golden stars at the sleeping Charmander. Once more however, Cinnamon remains asleep as he keeps relaxing, getting some more energy back.

Cinnamon: -6 Health, +6 Energy, Asleep

Meanwhile, Eevee channels her speed into another Quick Attack. Being out of the fire already, she slams into him once more, however, this quick hit causes him to slowly get up. Looking at his trainer for a moment, Cinnamon complies with what he was asked, and sinks his fire-laden fangs into Eevee's skin, causing her to wince in pain. Being reminded once again of her burn doesn't help her cause very much, but the Fire Spin soon fades, leaving a blackened area where it had once been.

All right, Cin, put up a nice Sunny Day, and then use Heat Wave and Ancient Power. If the Sunny Day is changed, immediately do Focus Punch instead of your next move. but Ancient Power would still be the third attack unless the weather changes right before you use it, then it would be Focus Punch. But, if Eevee Protects against the First Heat Wave, use it again.

Eevee takes the opportunity to dash at Cinnamon with another Quick Attack, but her muscles fully lock up on her, preventing her from carrying out her move.

With the heat making Cinnamon feel more comfortable, the Charmander goes for a Heat Wave on Eevee. Breathing out a blast of hot air filled with a few tiny flames in it, it hits Eevee, causing her to cry out in pain. Eevee is able to retailiate this time however, as she uses a Swift, having the individual stars all hit Cinnamon.

Cinnamon: -6 Health, -10 Energy

Knocked back quite a bit by that Heat Wave, Eevee goes on the dash again, slamming into Cinnamon with another Quick Attack. Cinnamon takes the hit, but soon sends out a ball of rock energy that slams into Eevee. The pain for Eevee is soon elevated some more by her burn getting to her once more. Looks like she won't last too much longer in this battle before she's out of it.

The battle is momentarily paused as Ayeun walks over to her fallen Eevee. Recalling her back to her Pokeball, she takes out another Pokeball, and opens it up to reveal a male Gastly, and with that, the battle resumes. Cinnamon sees his new opponent, but he has other plans besides battling at the moment, as he lumbers down and takes a short break to regain some energy. Gastly finds this the perfect moment to use a Hypnosis, and he forces Cinnamon into making eye contact before sending forth the hypnotic waves, which lull Cinnamon into slumber.

Cinnamon is already asleep, so Gastly meanwhile causes Cinnamon to have a terrible Nightmare, which makes Cinnamon feel uncomfortable in his sleep, having a nightmare about his tail flame possibly going out someday...not a fun nightmare, that's for sure.

With Cinnamon whimpering in his sleep, Gastly tries his Nightmare technique once more. But for some strange reason, it doesn't work this time. But at least he has a smile on his ghostly face, as Cinnamon continues to feel the pain of the Nightmare sapping his strength. Meanwhile, the sun slowly fades back into the clouds, leaving the battlefield...for now.

The round begins with Gastly conjuring up a ball of ghost energy. Firing the Shadow Ball at the sleeping Cinnamon, he cackles as it hits the Charmander, causing a bit of ethereal pain in the process. Cinnamon though begins to mumble something in his sleep, and he momentarily stands up, conjuring up a couple of clones to help him. This however doesn't keep him from whimpering once he goes back to sleep.

Cinnamon: -13 Health (3 from the Nightmare, 10 from the Shadow Ball), -4 Energy, Asleep, +2 clones

With Cinnamon still in his deep slumber but having two clones unexpectedly, Gastly chooses a Charmander to use Dark Pulse on, and he carefully aims the rings of dark energy at a Charmander, only to get a look of disappointment on his face as the Charmander he hit turns out to be just a clone, and not the real Cinnamon. Meanwhile, Cinnamon mumbles something in his sleep again. Getting up again, Charmander readies his sharp claws and scratches at Gastly...who just cackles at Cinnamon's pointless attempt. Unfortunately for Cinnamon, it's a tough break as his Nightmare makes him whimper in his sleep once more.

Gastly: -7 Energy
Cinnamon: -3 Health (from the Nightmare) -3 Energy, Asleep, -1 Clone

Going back to the first tactic he had used earlier this round, Gastly goes for another Shadow Ball, aiming for one of the two Charmander that is left. Once again though, the Charmander vanishes into thin air, making Gastly realize once again that he hit a clone. Cloneless now, Cinnamon mumbles something in his sleep once more. Standing up for a moment, he breathes out a blast of hot air and tiny flames at Gastly, catching him off-guard from the Heat Wave. Cinnamon begins to whimper about his Nightmare once more...but this time however, he jumps up to his feet once again, slowly opening his eyes as he manages to shake the Nightmare off. This round unfortunately took a bit out of him...

Randomizing Sleep Talk isn't hard for me, but sometimes it can backfire if the move (or one of the moves) turns out to be one the opponent is immune to.

-Having that Nightmare somehow caused Cinnamon to wake up at the end of the round. I guess we'll see what happens next, won't we?

The round begins with Cinnamon opening his mouth and letting dark energy crackle through it for a few moments. Fueling his drive to give one final surprise to Gastly before he's out of it, he grabs Gastly and Crunches down hard on Gastly's ethereal "flesh", as if he was trying to "rip" it, which causes Gastly to cry out in pain as he feels himself fall apart a little. Gastly soon shakes off the pain from that Crunch, and stares deeply into Cinnamon's eyes before using another Hypnosis, bringing the Charmander back into slumber.

With Cinnamon having fallen asleep again, Gastly floats over to the sleeping Charmander, and pulls out an ethereal feeding tube, as he uses a Dream Eater on Cinnamon, draining some health from the Charmander while recovering some of his own health.

Cinnamon: -10 Health

Seeing Cinnamon is still asleep and unable to do anything again, Gastly conjures up another Shadow Ball, and fires it at Cinnamon, knowing it will score a hit. Cinnamon feels the painful ball of ethereal energy sap the last of his strength, and he stays there, unmoving.
