Arena: Indigo Stadium w/pool. Normally I'd be more interesting than that but cba right now so.

I'll lead with my male Hypno, Hypnotik (ugh needs less fail nickname), so go ahead and attack with whatever you pick.

Hm, okay... snatch that swords dance away. When Perseus comes in for the night slash, hit him with a point-blank hypnosis. Then use nasty plot if he's asleep and zen headbutt if he's awake.

===Round 1===

Another ladder match! This time its between Phoenixsong and Greyfox! These two veteran trainers square off with two Psychic types to start. Persues extends his blades in reaction to Hypnotik rotating his pendulum in a teasing manner.

Perseus jumps back and begins to dance about, but as Perseus felt his body grow in ability, it was ripped away by a dark eerie wind. Hypnotik smiled eerily, and gained that boost for itself.

Testing its new found muscles, Hypnotik flexed a bit. Perseus was pretty peeved about that and dashes in, jumping over a small rocky ledge and extended its blades to their fullest. Hypnotik raised hits arms to block and was slashed alongside his arms. That pain was excruciating, and Hypno fell to his knees.

On that position, Hypnotik's hands wavered back and forth, allowing a certain trance to occur between him and Perseus. Perseus fell backwards, and fell into a trance, akin to sleep.

Dazed in his state, Perseus was a complete open target to Hypno's next strike. Hypno stretched and sat down next to his immobilized quarry, and began to plot his next move. Perseus could only sleep as those nasty thoughts whirled through Hypnotik's head.

Sitting next to Perseus as if they were hanging out on a stoop, chewing bubble gum wand watching girls double dutch, Hypnotix creates a veil of awesome that showers over him, protecting him from harm. Strangely enough, he should have did something else, because Persues came at Hypno with a severe bladed slash that matched a Gallade's natural coloration.

Hypnotik fell back, pained, but still pleased.

That damn Pokemon was still strong. Hypno now stood up, glad to be not in striking distance anymore...well no that's no good. Perseus was standing up. So in quick fashion, Hypno tried to eat his idea away by snacking on his dreams. Smart move.

But well, it just seemed that Perseus wanted to dance! Another Swords Dance completed.

Hrm, that attack never yielded enough yumminess. Not quite satisfied, Hypno went to floor his opponent with a ghastly Shadowball. The sphere went toward the oncoming Perseus, whom crossed his arms and extended his blades. Diving at the orb, Perseus took the hit and kept on coming-awake!

Hypno freaked, but it was too late. That hefty slash took a major toll on his body, and he fell to his knees, itching like crazy.

With Perseus up and active, Hypno backs away cautiously. That last strike was the last thing he needed to have happen, so light was forcefully bent around him in a reflective manner. Perseus jumped back and tried to defend himself as well. The shimmering veil came down on his side, and both Pokemon now felt kinda funny about their light show spectacle.

Hypno's foresight was much better though, because Perseus ran in first and performed a back handed slash to Hypno's back. Hypnotik stumbled forward and smiled, glad that the hit was lessened by that barrier. In retaliation though, a ghastly sphere was fired at the bladed 'mon, knocking him on his back.

Hypnotik jumped back to a offensive stance and watched as Perseus regained his footing. Perseus winced a bit from that first blow, but that didn't stop him from running in and slashing Hypno acorss the chest twice wqith all the fervor of a rabid hungry beast.

Yet that shield held up enough for Hypno to fire that Shadowball it was saving, and Perseus met the floor once more.

With a cleared head, Perseus warily watches Hyp. That damn kindred type was ripping him apart, and it was all because of that stupid bent light thing going on. Fueled with a desire to at least topple this Pokemon, Perseus flung all his weight into that punch. Hyp didn't flinch as the hit came-and it felt a little beefy-but then everything went white.

The shield shattered into energy shards-before it disappeared in a flash. Hyp was a bit taken back, that shield was what gave him the edge...and now its gone. So he shoved Perseus back with a beefed up Psychic. Now was not the time for it to be close.

To keep distance between them both, Hypno fired off a dual beam of color. This beam would have signalled a turning point in favor of Hypno, had it been stronger. Perseus ran right for the beam, and stood through it, even though it was beefed up. He visibly winced, but he knew it was better than what may follow.

Seeing no real reaction from the Gallade, Hypno charged up his hands with that familiar energy. Perseus waited, waited for that orb to be cast like a set of dice. When the orb was thrown, and bore on him like a homing pigeon- he flickered through it right as it came within striking range. Hypno gasped, realizing he did not know where the Pokemon was going to strike from.

Glances left and right yielded nothing. He glanced at the sky, and then a terrible flash of green struck him in the chest. It seared and itched and induced a true shiver through him as he fell on his back.

Perseus stood above him, glad that trick worked to its fullest potential. Sucker!!

This match is heated! Perseus is evidently tired of getting cut down at every time. So he tries once more to dance around the point, and duplicate his odds, But when the dance was done, Hypno stood there. In 4 differnet places. Perseus screamed! That damn Psychic Snatched his Double Team!

Bloody mad, Perseus runs for the Hypno to his immediate left. He extends his blades and literally impales it in the gut, forcing it to double over. Perseus ripped his blades out, a dark streak emanating and eating the clone out of existence. Hypnotik and the group all forced another Shadowball into existence, and fired it at Perseus. Perseus knelt to block but was knocked down and out by the ball.

As Hypno waits, his new competition forms together out of spare parts! When I get a Porygon, I'm calling it junkbot. Just realized this. Anyway, Duckbot wastes no time in being a nuisane, flying around, bobbing its head all cool like. Doesn't even give Hypnotik any respect for surviving his battle. Doesn't help that its bragging about how much more superior it is.

Hypno kinda gets ticked off, and halts the Safeguard! That was completely unnessecary, and he means to show that fool what for.

Duckbot charges up a massive amount of energy right then, and Hypno instantly charges the bird, confused into thinking that if he hit the robot, things would be ok. Well, running into Hyper Beams were never smart. Don't care who told you that. There were three Hypno's running toward Duckbot, and the robot waited until all three were within striking distance before firing. It hit two o them, and one was the real Hypno!

Hypnotik goes RACING toward the east, as Duckbot now settles down for a relaxation period.

Lying there, Duckbot just recharges as Hypno gets up. Naa, attacking this thing was not smart at all. He resumes his original plan, and erects a reflective shield to help absorb any damage. Still was kinda confused as to why it would say those things..

One last Hyper Beam should do it. If he uses Double Team, combine your beam with Swift, and if he Protects, just relax instead. Do this until he's down.

You've done well, Hypnotik, and you can take a nice break after this, but you'd better believe we're not going down without putting a big ol' hole in Mr. Duckbot. Endure the hyper beam, and then use that juicy boosted +4 attack to deliver an unhindered focus punch while Duckbot is recharging. Presumably it will use its last turn to waste a whole mess of energy using hyper beam to knock off that little 1% health, which is fine in and of itself, but if you can try to get a safeguard in there before you faint then that would be awesome.

Also, this is not relevant in the slightest, but I have a Porygon-Z elsewhere named Ghost in the Machine. Ring a bell, Darkly?

The confusion has trickled away enough for Hypno to hunker down and brace itself. Duckbot reared its head and rotated it 360 degrees, all the while glowing hot white. A flash of light exploded and a shocking powerful beam came out, taking Hypno by surprise at its immensity.

The beam washed over Hypno, and left him crying. Sure he had to endure it, but it didn't mean it would be easy!

Charging that would now incur a large time of reflect, and Porygon-Z felt it was safe enough to that with Hypno down. In truth, Hypno was mentally readying himself for this attack. Once Duckbot got up, Hypno sprang up and charged! Duckbot was uppercutted skyward..HARD.

Duckbot would need a minute to fuel that kind of attack again, so Hypnotik finally get that Safeguard up for whomever may come next. It veiled his area, right before the bright light welcomed him into the new world.

Duckbot watched as the second competitor from Phoenix's team took the stage. Out came a shimmering white coat with claws and hooks and cresent moons.. Theo de Veren shook its coat a bit to release the tangels, and then began to prance about. While this dance occured, Duckbot sinisterly thought up evil things to do like pulling its tail and tying its coat into knots.

Feeling hyped up, well...both of them feeling hyped up-each went on the offensive. Porygon-Z tried first, throwing a hefty spiral of the trinity of elements at Theo, who ran at them, and faded out of existence.

A heavy strike to the back alerted Duckbot where Theo was, and that ticked him off. He needed a hit, now!

Not giving in, Duckbot turned around and charged up a purple beam It fired, and then split into two, spinning around each other in flight. Absol went for a direct slash while Duckbot was still not facing him, but the Beam curved and looped back, slamming Absol into the ground after he connected.

Okay--well, taunt technically can't stop bide anyway iirc, so I've got a better idea. Superpower for the whole round, but always wait to see what Duckbot does first--if it looks like it's about to launch the attack, protect instead. If you can't manage that, just attack him anyway--you're better protected by the damage cap than it is.

The mini transformer floated around for a moment, before watching Theo brood over there in the west. Theo was most certainly brooding, as a massive amber burst of energy came into view. Duckbot seemed a bit worried by this idea as this outrageously over sized energy blast burst forth. Theo bounced back from the recoil as it rocketed forward, engulfing Duckbot in a sea or energy.

Still holding that energy in-Duckbot watched as Theo followed through with another hefty blast of outlandish proportions. It was so much in fact that after Duckbot went flying, it released itself. Duckbot inverted its freefall into a kamikaze propulsion. Theo couldn't block in time, and was struck by the hectic blast-almost evening the stakes once again in this match.

Theo was superbly thankful about that reflective barrier still being active.

That natural blast had a severe kick to it, but Theo wasn't worried. He was sure he could pull off another one. Duckbot cringed at that prospect, and was slammed backwards by a third Superpower. Duckbot was pretty sure he was damaged internally.

Duckbot seemed to be out of his league. But the robot did not give in, no sir. It floated in place and began to form what seemed to be a swift attack. But Swift doesn't crackle with electrified energy. As it charged up, Theo vanished from sight for a moment.

Ambient energies began to swirl and align themselves with the stars, creating a strange pentagonal connection. They revolved swiftly, electricity bulding in the center. Theo returned to the fight, and swatted Duckbot, but Theo left himself in clear sight, for this Hyper Bolt to be released. It was no stranger to power, as it ripped the ground away through its flight. Theo freaked and tried to bail, but was unable to evade the erratically electrical beaming stars. The resulting explosion launched Theo out into the stands...smoldering and breaking quite a few bleachers.

After such a devastating attack, Duckbot most definitely needed a recharge. Theo needed a grand moment as well. That attack shattered his sense of reality. Theo lied there, knowing full well he was going to need a moment.

But he couldn't let Duckbot get away with that. So, he lunged from the bleachers and traversed the distance, to deliver a weakened Aerial Ace.

Feeling his toes with no difficulty, Theo stood up. He lightly bounded around the arena floor and slowly padded his way over to the bastard Duck. Duck made no attempt to attack; he was proud enough of what he'd done this far. A ferocious rake of the claws came to be Duck's *reward*.

Smashing Duck to the ground was only the start of Theo's rage.

I just realized that Duckbot didn't attack after Bide even though he released it on action two -- was there a reason for that?

I could be wrong, but I guess DL didn't interpret that as also including "or if bide releases on the second action"--it looks like it only accounts for Theo using taunt or not attacking, and neither of those conditions were met, so... *shrug*

Hm... that makes sense. I blame my inability to use words properly. Anyway, let's get this match finished! Leviathan, my male blastoise, is up third.

Levi, first and foremost, if that hound tries anything like what Duckbot just did (a super-combo), Protect against it. Mirror Coat any electric attacks. Otherwise, use Hydro Pump until he's down.
