Ahh, on top of the department store in the biggest city in Kanto. What a throw back. As I go get me a lemonade from the vending machine, here comes my partner in crime, on his Altaria.

No man. I'm not back. I can't seem to shake you all >p Sides, I'm gonna be gone for another week at least, so enjoy this day with all you have.

And here comes Oslo, ready to rock with his newly hatched Baltoy. We know the rules, and we know the stakes. Let's get it on!

Dreidel starts by spinning rapidly, and bending light around its body to Screen out any potential effects of a special variety. Well, except singing of course. Dreidel stops to listen to Isane sing. And for that, it falls asleep. Right there.

Ah. There goes the trickery. Isane flies down and fired a Solarbeam from point blank range, at Dreidel. That Light Screen held up but it still forced the spinning top back a ways.

As Dreidel sleeps peacefully Isane flaps around the rooftop slowly. Knowing that thing could be a threat, Isane flops on the roof and develops a Substitute that can withstand anything that Dreidel can throw at it...maybe.

Dreidel wobbles in place and suddenly, shadows fall over Isane. She steps back and these Rocks come sliding out of the sky, shattering her sub quite a bit.

Still asleep, Dreidel rocks back and forth again. Isane takes careful note of the rocking and makes sure to get a swift strike in first. The collection of Solar Energy is fired, and that Light Screen filters it enough for Dreidel to survive long enough to retaliate with a Psychic battalion.

Dreidel wakes up, and with good reason. Isane was ready to fire off a second Solarbeam, but now that energy was held onto. Dreidel didn't hold back though, and fired off a crystalline energy. Isane saw the incoming and fired her Solarbeam in retaliation.

Both beams struck and both Pokemon fell to the rooftop aching. Isane felt the chill through her body, and Dreidel wondered if it was worth having awesome dreams...

Fear was no longer an option in Drediel's case. Isane was on the run, spinning around herself to create Mist. The fog began to block Dreidel's vciew, but Dreidel began to spin itself. Dust and sediment built up and flew out in all directions, ripping the Mist apart and replacing it with blinding sand. Isane cawed in disagreement.

This rooftop was now getting CAKED in sand. Drediel loved it but Isane had other ideas. She flew up and began to sing above the roar of the winds. The song had a definite sad note to it. Hearing the song, Dreidel looked up and focused his energies...but the ability to create an Avalanche took a bit longer than it thought.

Still it was successful and Isane was crushed under the weight of the falling boulders and chilling ice.

Yeah...Isane wasn't getting up from that.

Atop this department store, MLG now switches out Isane for Lucian. The small floating disc wafts in the air, that is still undergoing the Sandstorm effect. Dreidel notes the newcomer, and decides to ravage it a bit. Lucian doesn't fret though, and erects a shield in time to diffuse the power of that Shadowball.

Unsure of what the little floating steel plate was capable of, Dreidel continued the ravaging assault. The Sandstorm didn't stop it from whirling over until it was under Lucian, and glowing from its arms in two colors. Lucian looked down calmly,and watched as the two beams surged upward. They struck, but he stayed calm through it.

Kinda ticked Lucain off, it was a better inanimate-turned-animate object than Dreidel!

Undaunted, she flings that orb. And it zips through a clone.

Damnit! She floated up using her own power and now made a red and purple orb in her grasp. Lucian and the clones all flew around all weird like though..

Buddhete kipped up and scrapped the defensive ploy. Her fist flamed and she flew toward one of the two remaining Lucains. A fiery fist punched that mirrormom, but the explosion of false energy just threw her off hugely.

She landed behind what she thought was Lucain, and got a Shadowball to the back. Lucian got it right for once...

Lucian felt safe at this moment. No amount of trickery would be able to help that stinking monkey. So, as Lucian closed its eyes and calmly reassessed it position. Buddhete jumped around. Watching them. Soon, the storm clouds clapped, making their presence known. Lucian opened its eyes, knowing what that meant. Damnit!

Lucian knew that now the battle took a turn for the strange. Having being boosted beyond normal levels made it a prime target for tricky shenanigans. and it was not about to have that happen. So a Shadowball was created in quick fashion, and flung at the Meditite. Buddhete crossed her arms to focuses, a green tether of energy flying out and stabbing Lucian ethereally.

The robbery was fast enough for Buddhete to use it immediately, since Lucain was confused no more. That Sahadowball was relentless, and even with the new boosts, that still sent a chill through her spine.

Glad that worked, Buddhete sat back up and focused again. Knowing what was gong to happen next Lucain tried to devise a strategy, but the rain, o crap the rain. Its clones faded away before they had a chance to live. Lucian grumbled as its other boosts were robbed away. It felt...naked.

Being robbed like that was uncalled for. Lucain took a moment to figure out its next step, all the while spinning like a top. Buddhete cared not for its strategy and went in for a quick Fire punch. The power behind Buddhetes hit knocked Lucian through the rain, and a rogue thunderbolt came down-reflecting its Flash off of Lucian. Ow to Buddhete's eyes.

Buddhete and Lucian lost their protective barrier now, so the rain felt much more chilling. Lucian watched as Buddhete swung wildly, thankful for that lapse in accuracy. Now it could synu up with the brethren type and relate all thise nice boosts back to itself. Cheating monkey..

Not sure what exactly happened, Buddhete switched back to the flaming fists of fury-but god, the rain was making it fizzle down quite well. Lucian didn't worry about it, especially now since the game was essentially even.

Two questions... first, shouldn't Psych Up have copied the Accuracy reduction since Psych Up copies all stat changes, not just the beneficial ones? Also, why did Shadow Ball do 22 when, in Round 7, it only did 10? In both cases, Lucian had +3 SpA and and Buddhette had +3 SpD, and since there didn't seem to be any difference in how the attack was executed (ie. the range was the same, no arena hazards, etc.) shouldn't the damage calc be the same, too?

After realizing I can't do math in the morning, I have come to this consensus. With Light Screen gone and you both at equal boost levels, Shadowball should have done standard damage, that being 16. It has been fixed. Carry on :O

Buddhete knew that preventative measures needed to be taken agaisnt that mirror powerhouse. So she backflipped away and erected a Screen to block anymore rogue spheres flying her way. Lucian didn't care, as he began to spin so much, a Sandstorm was unleashed within the arena.

That didn't help Buddhete's eyes, no.

Still, Buddhete felt a bit safer knowing that anything rattled off at her would be weakened. She really was glad about this when a Shadowball DID strike.
