Initiation

The “start transcribing” signal is a nucleotide sequence called a promoter, which is located in the DNA at the beginning of the gene

The promotor is a specific place where RNA polymerase attaches. The first phase of transcription, aka initiation, is the attachment of RNA polymerase to the promoter and the start of RNA synthesis. For any gene, the promoter dictates which of the two DNA strands is to be transcribed (the particular strand varies from gene to gene)

RNA Elongation

During the second phase of transcription, elongation, the RNA grows longer. As RNA synthesis continues, the RNA strand peels away from its DNA template, allowing the two separated DNA strands to come back together in the region already transcribed.

Termination) In the third phase, termination, the RNA polymerase reaches a special sequence of bases in the DNA template called a terminator. This sequence signals the end of the gene. At this point, the polymerase molecule detaches from the RNA molecule and the gene, and the DNA strands rejoin.

In addition to producing RNA that encodes amino acid sequences, transcription makes two other kinds of RNA that are involved in building polypeptides.

1920’s great depression scion of Loa god.

Never knowing her real parents, and only finding love from the workers, she adapted to their lifestyle and learnt their stories. Many were immigrants from America, children and grandchildren of ex slaves. The brought with them stories of Voodoo gods, and the premise of freedom and equality.

Lillian was visited one night by the (Parent god/dess) and informed that their real parent was (god/goddess) of (original pantheon), who had traded her to the Loa gods as an offering of truce and alliance. Lillian was from that day forth, a Scion of (Loa god), and would be adopted in to the Loa culture as a white woman.

Lillian, or Lilly has tanned skin, green eyes, dark brown hair, with natural auburn highlights. She was raised as a farm hand, but has since moved on, travelling and helping both her ‘brothers and sisters’, and the community as a whole. She finds the oppressive nature of societies view on both blacks and women as a flaw, but realizes that she has no way to fix this alone. She is not interested in the fickle relationships of ‘gentlemen callers’, and finds the prospect of being tied down to a man for the rest of her life as pointless.
