Basically, we're at the bottom of a Tetris game. Blocks will be falling from the top, and will deal lots of damage to those trapped under one. Of course, when they form lines, they'll disappear.

The trainers, Asu and Dan, stand outside a giant Tetris board, agreeing to the terms of battle. They release their respective pokémon -- Dan with his icy torchic, Winter, and Asu with a terrifying druddigon, Cassie -- into the board.

At the end of every round, a block will fall from the sky and land on the ground directly below it. Any pokémon caught underneath the block will be instantly teleported to the top of said block, at the cost of 5HP. Your pokémon, however, can use one action to evade from the block to avoid being crushed by it as well.

Whenever a line is created by the Tetris blocks, the floor beneath your pokémon will instantly vanish -- whoever is battling on that platform will instantly be rewarded with 5HP.

Cassie, being ever-so-slightly quicker than her fiery foe, gives him quite a fright with a menacing leer [ -10% Def Winter / -2PP Cassie ]. Winter, however, continues to concentrate on his own task, creating a small focus using his own health as a payment [ -5HP, -5PP Winter / +5HP Substitute ].

Cassie continues to give off frightening looks [ -2PP Cassie ], but this one goes unnoticed by Winter's doll. The icy-looking fire pokémon, with her foe distracted, spits out a tiny ember that crashes into Cassie's scaley hide, giving her a nasty burn [ +3% Brn Cassie / -5PP Winter ].

Cassie, in discontent, lifts up her right foreclaw and charges at the doll with zero remorse and shreds it to pieces [ -5HP Substitute / -5PP, -1HP Cassie ]. Winter takes note of the attack, and attempts to improvise it. Lacking claws, however, the procedure is difficult. She instead uses her talons to slash the dragon pokémon with archaic energy [ -11HP Cassie / -7PP Winter ].

The first round ends, and the first Tetris block, the L-block, stamps the ground right behind Winter.

Cassie strengthens her resolve by sharpening her claws [ +10% Atk, +10% Spd, -5PP, -1HP Cassie ] while Winter unleashes a peculiarly alarming dance that washes that resolve away mighty quickly [ -20% Atk Cassie / -5PP Winter ].

With her speed increased, Cassie charges at her foe with an electric tooth, snapping down mightily [ -6HP Winter / -4PP, -1HP Cassie ]. The wintery firebird retalliates by smacking the dragon with her talons -- Cassie's thick scales, however, cause Winter some harm as well [ -7HP, -10% Def Cassie / -5PP, -3HP Winter ].

The dragon pokémon angrily retalliates with a powerful earthquake that sends tremors around the video game board [ -15HP Winter / -8PP, -1HP Cassie ]. The firebird's feathers justly ruffled, he snaps himself back to reality before firing off a blast of energy [ -7HP, +25% Par Cassie / -5PP Winter ].

As the second round completes, another Tetris block falls from the sky -- landing directly about Winter.

Winter swiftly throws her body forward, trying to get away from the Tetris blocks, and tackles Cass weakly [ -5HP Cassie / -2PP Winter ] as the dragon pokémon strengthens her resolve even moreso [ +10% Atk, +10% Acc, -5PP, -1HP Cassie ].

Winter then hits Cassie with an acidic collection of poisons [ +3% Tox Cassie / -5PP Winter ]. She can't do anything this time, due to paralysis [ -1HP, -1HP Cassie ].

Winter, despite the speed advantage, lies in wait as Cassie summons all of her strength into her claws. STRIKE!, she swats at the tiny bird with all of her might, dealing great damage [ -10HP Winter / -5PP, -1HP, -1HP Cassie ]. However, before she can follow through, Winter snaps at Winter's arm and counterattacks swiftly [ -16HP Cassie / -7PP Winter ].

The third block falls from the sky, landing above both pokémon now.

Winter bounds up high, managing to get to the highest block on the Tetris Board [ -5PP Winter ] as Cass follows suit by climbing up the blocks [ -3PP, -1HP, -1HP Cassie ].

At the high point, Winter fires off a pair of flamethrowers that deal weakened damage against Cassie's rough exterior [ -7HP + -7HP Cassie / -12PP Winter ]. Cassie responds by slamming her claw into the block Winter's on, which ruffles her feathers a bit [ -4HP Winter / -2PP, -2HP, -1HP Cassie ], but not enough for long-term effects. The dragon pokémon tries to summon a rain storm, but no one would ever notice it while inside a videogame [ -7PP, -2HP, -1HP Cassie ].

Cass attempts to climb up to Winter's block, but the icy torchic ain't too keen on sharing, and intercepts her climb by leaping down and smacking the dragon down to the floor [ -5HP, -3PP, -2HP, -1HP Cassie / -5PP Winter ]. Winter swiftly gets back to her own block [ +20% Atk, -5PP Winter ] as Cassie is too paralyzed to move [ -3HP, -1HP Cassie ].

Winter chirps cheerfully before summoning a volley of swift bullets to rain down upon the dragon pokémon [ -6HP Cassie / -4PP Winter ] as Cassie angrily slams her foot on the floor, creating an earthquake. The damage is muffled by Winter's height, but he still is shaken up from the attack fro below quitely [ -6HP Winter / -8PP, -3HP, -1HP Cassie ].
