Default [ST] Mikachu v. Greyfox (Ref: Oslo Poslo)

Alright, Mika -- let's get this thing started. I will be using my silver metagross, Brigadier (@Clear Body). Attacks will come as soon as you do.

A ghost type against my strapping psychic. Brig, we've got an uphill battle ahead of us, but we can't start until we start, so let's do that.

Let's begin by summoning a Sandstorm. Follow that up with an Iron Defense. Finally, strike with Thunderpunch!

    For starters, Taunt.
    Next, Water Spout.
Finish with getting closer and using Wring Out.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 1 ‡

It’s time! A spicy tournament battle between E4 extraordinaire Greyfox and the-little-Finn-who-could Mikachu is about to get underway and this place, a moonlit graveyard on the grounds of a old haunted house, is one creepy-ass place for such a match to occur. Nonetheless, Grey tosses his Pokeball into the field, summoning an ironclad beast that begins slamming its mighty metal legs against the earth. Mikachu, meanwhile, counters with an emotionless, tentacled ghostie that hovers there eerily. Uh... would it kill you to smile? Ohwait, lawl, he's already dead.

Okay, no more preamble! Let the violence commence!

Brigadier bellows and calls upon a storm of sand to descend upon our battle. Visquex shields his face against his blustery surroundings and, over the roar of the whipping wind, utters a rude comment about Metagross being the fifth heaviest Pokemon. Hey, Shamu, lay off the biscuits! Brigadier, despite its nonchalant exterior, is actually rather hurt by the Taunt. D’aww. Rage overwhelms the Steely beast.

    Brigadier: <-4 EP; Tnt>
    Visqeux: <-4 EP>

Overcome by anger, Brigadier ignores Grey’s orders and takes a swing at its opponent. The attack, however, just goes right through the spectral jellyfish. Face devoid of emotion, Visqeux unleashes a colossal torrent of water that blasts Brigadier through several tombstones.

    Brigadier: <-17 HP; Can’t move!>
    Visqeux: <-9 EP>

Brigadier straightens, gives its head a shake and roars over the noise of the Sandstorm. Hurling its whole body at Visqeux, Brigadier throws a punch that crackles with electricity. The hit connects and Visqeux is promptly jolted with heavy voltage; however, in the aftermath of the strike, Brigadier looks on in confusion as the electricity surrounding his appendage begins to fizzle out. Buh? Confused, Brigadier tries to figure out why that happened while Visqeux attacks. Latching his tentacles to the Metagross’s body, Visqeux begins to squeeze, but the typing keeps the damage to a minimum.

    Brigadier: <-5 HP; -6 EP; ThunderPunch forgotten>
    Visqeux: <-12 HP; -9 EP>

The sand irritates Visqeux's slick, spectral skin <-3 HP>.

    > At 0 EP, Pokemon will begin to lose 1 HP for every 2 EP they consume
    > Unless overcome, Sandstorm will remain in effect for two more rounds
    > Brigadier will remain under the effects of Taunt for three more actions
    > Because of Cursed Body, Brigadier won't be able to use ThunderPunch until the ability activates again

I think Sandstorm ends now, use Rain Dance!
Now time to take its advantage, Surf!
    Finish this round with Scald.

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 2 ‡

This thumping battle continues as Brigadier coughs out a massive blob of poisonous gunk that bursts as it connects with Visqeux. The Frillish maintains composure even as the noxious substance settles into his system, Poisoning him. Visqeux merely claps his tentacles and brings on the rain. What an excellent way to make our dreary surroundings even drearier. (*checks to make sure that’s a word*) Okay, clear!

    Brigadier: <-7 EP>
    Visqeux: <-9 HP; -4 EP; Psn>

With rain coming down in sheets, Brigadier begins crackling with otherworldly energy and charges up a humming sphere of purple matter. He shoots the ball off and catches Visqeux right in the gut, grounding the jellyfish. Visqeux hums and summons all the rain that has saturated into the soil to rise up into the air and form a large blob. The blob crashed down upon Brigadier in the form of a wave. What with the rain and everything, it’s more than a little unpleasant.

    Brigadier: <-16 HP; -6 EP>
    Visqeux: <-12 HP; -8 EP>

Brigadier kicks out another Shadow Ball which blasts Visqeux into a nearby mud puddle. Hissing, the big blob o’ blue gets airborne once more and shoots out a Scalding blast of steaming water. Brigadier bellows and vows revenge. Something tells me this is the sort of guy you don’t want to peeve off.

In his bout of rage, Brigadier appears to have forgotten all about that pesky Taunt.

    Brigadier: <-14 HP; -6 EP>
    Visqeux: <-12 HP; -6 EP>

    Visqeux’s inside begin to sting <-3 HP>.

Keep your eyes closed and perform another Sandstorm to avoid this girl's taunts. Follow up then with Bulldoze and Zen Headbutt. If at anytime your Thunderpunch becomes enabled, use it instead!

No! The rain must continue! Don't let the weather change and use another Rain Dance!
    Also, Brine twice!

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 3 ‡

Rain is dumb. These are the thoughts that motivate Brigadier to slam a massive metal leg-thing against the ground and bring a howling Sandstorm back to the cemetery. Unfortunately for the iron titan, Visqeux is a fan of the rain and, with a spin, brings the downpour back to the battlefield. Brigadier kicks over a tombstone in frustration.

    Brigadier: <-4 EP>
    Visqeux: <-4 EP>

Pining for the tender caress of sand in his joints, Brigadier lets out an angry cry and slams the muddy earth hard. A shock wave whips out, leveling tombstone over tombstone, before tossing Visqeux into a statue of a deceased Growlithe. The thing breaks. Um. We’ll total, uh, pay for that and stuff. The Frillish releases a salty lick of rain-boosted water that cascades over Brigadier. The salt settles into his wounds, aggravating them.

    Brigadier: <-19 HP; -4 EP; -1 Spd>
    Visqeux: <-6 HP; -8 EP>

A pink corona consumes Brigadier’s body as the launches its weighty body forth in a massive physical strike. Sustaining a hit, Visqeux once again counters with a dense Brine. How much more of this can poor Brigadier withstand?

    Brigadier: <-19 HP; -6 EP>
    Visqeux: <-10 HP; -8 EP>

    Visqeux’s stomach churns <-3 HP>.

If he, by any change, does attempt to change the weather at any point, counter with Rain Dance!

If not, the plan is clear. Start off with Ominous Wind!
Keep up the water type moves by using Brine once again!
    Hydro Pump finishes this round.

Time for an all-out offensive, Brig -- combine Teleport with a pair of Shadow Balls to get behind her and bring her down while her back is turned!

    I call it *Vanishing Shadows!

    ‡ Pre-Round ‡

    ‡ Round 4 ‡

The rain begins to ripple and drift in horizontal sheets as a wind stirs within the cemetery. Visqeux raises his tentacles forebodingly as a purple gust tumbles toward Brigadier who scrunches up his eyes and concentrates on Teleporting… only to take the full force of the attack head on. He blinks. Uh, that was weird. Regardless, the metallic beast manages to pump out a pair of Shadow Balls that hit Visqeux for some serious damage.

    Brigadier: <-8 HP; -12 EP>
    Visqeux: <-24 HP; -4 EP>

The end is nigh. Still smarting over those powerful Ghost-type attacks, Visqeux unleashes a foamy burst of salty water. The attack throws Brigadier into the wall of a crypt. He doesn’t get up. RIP, big guy.

And with that, we have our winner! Good work, creepy jellyfish thing!

    Brigadier: <-2 HP>
    Visqeux: <-8 EP>

    ‡ Post-Round ‡

And that's that! Since Metagross can't learn Teleport, the move failed. Good match, guys! Mikachu moves onto the next round of the tournament and earns two points. Grey gets one and I get four.

    Later!
