This is the place to be! In this thread people can ask for a nickname, provide some cool nicknames for others to pick from, or just discuss names and everything related!

The first post here is also gonna function as a database to keep everything stored for future generations

Then I suggest Kairos. This is more or less the process i use for getting all my nicknames. I looked up 'Time' on wikipedia, and at the very bottom there's a link to 'Kairos'. Wikipedia has this to say:

While the former refers to chronological or sequential time, the latter signifies a time in between, a moment of indeterminate time in which something special happens. What the special something is depends on who is using the word. While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative nature

Chronos is everything everytime. Kairos is "Shit, I am going to remember this moment forever!"

Well it would only be weird if you knew the person, or something. It would be similar to naming a pet something human, which I don't like to do.

For Dialga, Tardis is a good one. Also, since I'm used to the ten character limit in the games, RAWRofTIEM is another option. You could also have something reference Primal Dialga from PMD2.

Alright, this namerater has already proven it's worth! Thanks for all the suggestion guys! Since I tend to give my pokemon a first and last name Dialga is gonna be called Kairos Brown!

Um, I don't know about real people, but I do have a vague flashback of some literature examples, well I find it hard to pinpoint them, but anyways, take it someone gets a dog and gives it the name of his funny neighbor since 'he just looks like him' or something. Turning this instance into the Pokemon world, Ash would name his Pikachu 'Gary Oak', which sounds, just, lol.

I am aware that this may overwhelm, but. What about Pokemon's Japanese names, what does everyone think of them? I think many of us have taken the advantage of using them or parts of them as nicknames.

Samgyeopsal. A Korean cuisine (Korean is close enough to Japanese, right?) made from pork bellies. Which are traditionally frozen. Like Ice Pokemon.

...I'm trying way too hard, aren't I?

EDIT: Pancetta and Rullepolse are also made from pork bellies, if either of those names are more aesthetically pleasing to you than my first one.

alright trying to catch manaphy, any name suggestions? I'd like a name that has something to do with one of its moves or pokedex entries.

How about Prince Nexus? Nexus (as far as I know) is a synonym for bonding, and manaphy has the ability to bond pokemon (according to its pokedex entry). The prince part is because (according to the movie) manaphy is also known as the prince of the sea. Plus, I like the word "Nexus"

Or you could just go with "Nexus"
