My fiancé (yes, I enjoy saying that) and I are just going to dinner and a movie for Valentine's Day. Our 5 year anniversary is exactly a month after, so we decided to do something bigger then (we're driving a couple of hours to see The Pirates of Penzance by the official New York Gilbert & Sullivan crew) and something smaller now.

I'm celebrating today, not tomorrow, and I'm going to be trying my hand at cooking dinner for my girlfriend.

This will be particularly interesting, as it will be my first time cooking something not out of a can.

Last year I had a physics test bright and early on Feb 15th, and since I was already doing horribly in that abortion of a class, I couldn't do much when I actually had a boyfriend.

This year, my prof has decided that our geology field trip has to be this Saturday. So I will be celebrating valentines day with my true love - rocks. Why do profs hate Vday?

Since I'm being frugal, I'm just going to show my boyfriend my love through WoW. Last year I wrote out "I <3 U" with flares and this year through the V-Day event, I'm shooting off 10 rockets within 20 seconds and naming off 10 reasons why I love him (along with collecting an achievement)

Meh, to me, Valentine's Day will be like any other day, it was good while I was a kid in elementary school, but not so good when you've never been in a relationship, like me. But maybe next year, things will change.

On a side note, I usually get treats from my mother on the day, but that's just about it. At least it (sort of) makes up for not having a relationship.

I miss Valentine's Days from elementary school. We never had to do work, just pass out nickelodeon/disney themed valentines to everyone, drop them in each other's decorated shoeboxes, and eat candy all day. Maybe make homemade ones for mom and dad. Kickass.

Seconded. When no girl has ever like you, (believe me! I asked every friend of mine: "Name a girl the has fallen for me?". All 7 of them -Best Friends, and not just friends, 5 guys and 2 girls- didn't said a word), nothing extarordinary is awaited on Valentine's.

Anyway, is pretty much another day, but a little more interesting, since I like to see the shine in the couple's eyes when they see their gifts (either a big plush doll, an expensive perfume, or just a box of chocolates)

Maybe I'm just an odd fellow in feeling that Valentine's Day just discourages love from being spread around the other 364 (sometimes 365) days on the calendar. But Happy Valentine's Day and Happy "Basement dwellers have feelings, too!" Day to those who acknowledge it.

I'll probably just find a way to chill and unwind, probably by sleeping in or cracking out the textbooks, DS, or even my N64. But groceries need to be bought soon, too; there goes my dream of hermitage.

As for me, im gonna see how far i can set this record. 25 years in and not 1 Valentines card has ever come my way. Voting complete. And I've been spending my day playing video games while transferring a ton of computer files for grading purposes. Kind of a pain, actually... it's fun to play video games until you're forced into hours of gaming as your only available activity.

On valentines day, soong went to work and I went to the mechanics and put my car in to be fixed, then I went to a friends house and cleaned his kitchen, then drove home.
When I got home, my car started smoking and there was radiator fluid all over the driveway. So the mechanic will fix it soon.

Then after that, we all went to a friends house and had a toga party (Except we all wore clothes underneath cos its actually cold now in Sydney). That was fun. And then at like 9:30pm our mate Jason drove the four girls to the bottle-o to buy some alcohol, and the guy at the bottle-o was like "haha you're having a great valentines day!" and we were like "roflmao awkward...."

It wasn't really anything special for me, as usual. I went to a tournament in Glasgow and one of the guys gave me chocolates and flowers, on Friday I got a card from my male friend and one through the post without a name on, but I'm pretty sure it's from a lesbian girl I know ;o

Hmm, yeah. One could, of course, take the jaded point of view and say that these days, people need to be reminded... kind of a sad thought, really. Alternatively, if we don't need a special day for it, then Valentine's Day truly is just to torment us singles. If you want to take it a step further to Darwinism, maybe this is our own way of trying to pressure everyone into finding a partner. For the greater good. And stuff.

I did homework, as expected. Still have some left to do so I should really get on it. Other than that, I spent a very non-romantic evening at home with my brothers, we planned on picking up pizza, but my car didn't start, so we ordered. After my parents came home, my dad worked some kind of witchcraft on my car and it started. Thank God he knows alot more about cars than I do. So yeah, that was my very lame day.
