Well, as foretold by The Limbless Prophets of Anthrax, Rossymore and I will have a battle that will more than likely involve some Wobbuffett and Paras action.

As stated by the most amorphous prophets, this battle shall be 3 vs 3 and have abilities in use. If either party strays from the battle for more than one week and seventeen hours, it shall cause a paradox of Celestial Battle Mechs, as warned by the homeless descendant of the Tribe of Amnesiacs.

The battle will take place in the middle of a beach boardwalk, as indicated by the presence of Gibson the Enlightened. People shall watch the fight in awe as they pass by and enjoy their one week vacations from work. There are palm trees which, in theory, shouldn't be climbed on, but nobody actually cares. The shore is fairly close to the boardwalk. The move Earthquake would probably not work on the sand. Also, try to steer away form the nearby parking lot for obvious reasons...

Isn't that a bit much ice cream?!

A beach boardwalk, the perfect place to relax after constant hard work. I look around; this place has been here for a long time, but I've never bothered to visit before. There are palm trees and I can't wait- oh. There's no rest for a referee, is there? Kabomber and Rossymore are out on the boardwalk, both calling out Pokémon. I guess it's my job to ref this thing now, huh?

Polari, ever so familiar from our recent run-in, moves first, the speedy little Staryu. Its gem shines, almost blindingly, and creates a light shield in front of it. Kazebouzu (shall I call him Kaze?) doesn't look too bothered, lowering its head and creating a ball of shadows and shooting it through Polari's screen. The screen amazingly filters out a lot of the Shadow Ball, leaving only about half of it to hit the Staryu. I'd say it looks cheerful, but who can say?

Polari is back in the limelight for its comeback. Its gem glows again and it summons a huge wave, riding on it as it crashes down on Kaze. I skip aside but still get hit by stray jets. Dammit. This is my only tank top! Kaze scowls and oh man that is one hell of a scowl, electric energy surrounding its small body before he releases it in a crackling thunderbolt that Polari's Light Screen could only have dreamed of filtering - thunderbolts come from the sky, and its Light Screen is immobile and conjured in front of it. Polari doesn't seem so chirpy. Maybe this calls for more ice cream?

So, what will our ice cream-loving Staryu pull out of its imaginary hat this time? Apparently releasing a stream of boiling hot water at everyone's favourite trickily named Shuppet! Kaze hops around, trying to get rid of the hot water, and obviously forgets that the damned Light Screen is there, shooting another Shadow Ball right through its filters. Oh, Kaze, I can relate. I've spilled coffee and hot chocolate over myself enough times to understand your pain.

Can I get ice cream too?

What's this? Polari's not moving first? Oh! Kaze moves first, summoning up a screen that looks similar to Polari's Light Screen but it seems a little different... a little more yellowy, kinda brownish. Polari's gem shines and releases a light purple orb, but it bounces back off Kaze's screen, which disintegrates after contact, and filters itself through Polari's screen and hits the Staryu in the gem. Polari looks somewhat confused now, but I'm sure that Light Screen seems to have affected it somehow...

Though Polari probably wants more ice cream, I think the mouthful upon mouthful have paid off. The confusion hasn't set in too much yet, but as Polari rides the wave down onto Kaze and I run off, avoiding all the water and watching the scattering audience, I'm sure that wave wasn't as focused. Kaze looks pleased about that, and flies over to Polari, but the Staryu is stumbling around and even though Kaze is summoning electric sparks to try and paralyse the confused and drunken-like Staryu, but it's already trying to escape the paralysis and it's in an odd state. Kaze scowls. How on Earth could his precious move miss?!

Polari? Polari? It's staggering around and looking stupid, but it manages to get its move in. Taking a deep breath and trying to focus, it fires a beam of scalding hot water, but the confusion makes it difficult to focus and the beam merely brushes Kaze, though it still makes him bounce around. He summons up his hissing ball of shadows and soars behind Polari, whose Light Screen is in front of him and immobile. He throws the ball of shadows right at Polari, slamming the Staryu in the back. I feel terribly sorry for Polari...

Hmm, you have an interesting way of reffing Confusion. Is its accuracy lowered, or is its evasion increased? And if only being grazed by a Scald deals 7HP, then I'd hate to think how high the damage would have been had it actually hit.
And if the Confuse Ray had been filtered by the Light Screen (?), then four actions is still quite a lot, as actions = turns in a way and two actions have already passed. And Light Screen can't move, so attacking from behind is the way to go? Even so, a STAB 80BP move doesn't do all that much.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the last part, though. Oh, and uh, about Confusion, it's meant to be a bit of a strange ailment. Sometimes when I get kind of confused, I get quite dizzy? Yeah. kinda. asdfghjkl

Since you said the Light Screen is static and can't move, I can just avoid it by attacking from behind? And the damage from the Shadow Ball would be normal for a move that had been affected by Light Screen, but you said it wasn't so I must have really bad Sp. Atk.

And you can base confusion off of your experiences, but what the users are used to is it being based off of the anime or indeed the games. Maybe I just find it different as I had more game based reffings, but if that's how you ref confusion, then that's fine, it's just different to how I would.

"Alright," Kabomber declares, shaking his head and sighing. "This is getting ridiculous! Polari, take five! Let's go, Thursday!" Rossy just about dies of frustration as he flails and screeches, yelling obsceneties and 'YOU CAN'T DO THAAAAAT!'. Please tell me I brought my whistle... nope. I wave him down as Kabomber recalls Polari and releases his Magnemite, though I have no idea why he called it 'Thursday'. Rossy's sudden burst of fury seems to calm (seriously, what the hell was that? He's worse than me!) and he smirks as Kaze splits into two other copies. Three Shuppets to try and watch?! Why can't I just enjoy my damn vacation?

Thursday shoots forward, electric sparks generated from its magnets. Sadly, the electric sparks only manage to hit one of Kaze's clones, Kaze and its remaining clone darting off to safety. Kaze generated some electricity of his own and released a fantastical yellow-ish beam of volts and sparks, which... uh... Thursday just danced out the way of. If I was a commentator, I would definitely say "a wonderful start for the most adorable Magnemite in the ASB, and an infuriating twist in the tale for Rossymore!". Definitely.

Kaze starts this time, hoo-ray. And suddenly, I feel cold. Upset. Everything wrong I've ever done weighs down on me. It's the most horrible feeling, then a cold breeze begins to blow slowly. It seems to be focused on Thursday, who gets a horrible ghastly blast of evil wind before the feeling lifts. That's it! Once Thursday's performed his action, I'm going to go and sneak off and buy myself an ice cream. Ice creams are anti-depressants in disguise! Thursday generates some wonderful electricity, and zaps Kaze with it. Kaboom! Kabaaaaashhhh! I can't believe it actually just hit the real Kaze! Now I want ice cream, goddammit!

I am definitely going to kill this thing. For sure.

I manage to return with my vanilla ice cream (don't forget the 99 Flake!) just in time for both teams to have relayed their commands. Rossy pulls out a Pokéball and calls back Kaze - wait, what?! - and releases Hakuryu, his beautiful female Dragonair. Thursday, despite the horrible type matchup, continues on with his owner's commands, releasing a sudden flash of sparks that hit Hakuryu, but she simply gracefully dances back.

Hakuryu smiles softly as she calls up a light pink screen. Thursday calls upon the electricity again, releasing an amazing beam of dancing sparks that push quite thoroughly through Hakuryu's screen. Thursday looks happy with its strong release of power, and looks a little more prepared to fight, too.

This turn is passing swiftly, I note. Hakuryu seems to be bringing quite a pace with her. She releases a stream of burning fire from her mouth, but Thursday's small form flees from the stream. Hakuryu pouts cutely, but Thursday doesn't want her to take all the attention and fires her with a Thunderbolt, catching her somewhat off-guard. A dirty look passes across her features, but not for very long.

Sorry I haven't reffed this, I've either had an upset stomach or been feeling ill lately once I get back from school. I have a holiday soon, and though I have homework (3 major pieces of homework, actually) I can ALWAYS fit in time for screwing around or reffing. My holiday starts next week, so I'll get my rounds up then. Make sure I actually get it done and don't procrastinate again, though... I am the Queen of Procrastination.
