I am going to do a little of a cheap thing here, Solid reflect all those attacks back at Grimer with Mirror Coat.

Ok just a few points Cynder, not to be picky or anything but just some observations.
1: Mirror Coat doesn't completely block the attack, the pokemon is hit by the attack and then the mirror coat is the full force of the previous attack which is then reflected back at the pokemon that used it except with greater strength, also it is classified as a Psychic type attack.
Mirror Coat -PSY- The user shimmers and glows, and the power of incoming special attacks are bounced back toward their source. The user of Mirror Coat still suffers some damage and fatigue from the strain of reversing the power of incoming attacks, although typically less than it would have had it not performed Mirror Coat. The attack is of the Psychic element and the power of the hit is increased. It always has good accuracy and does not take any time to charge.
Fatigue: Moderate
Accuracy: Excellent
Other: Special
2: Try and flesh out the battle a little more, set the scene, show the moves, give the battlers reasons why attacks acted as they did. Get the battlers engaged with the pokemon fight.

Oh yeah! I always thought that mirror coat completely blocked the attack, but it obviously doesn't. My mistake! And as for fleshing out the battle, I normally do it's just it wouldn't exactly make a brilliant read because each round the same moves are being used. I'll fix the reffings later though, and at least attempt to make each of the rounds a bit more interesting. If you need to see how much I flesh out a normal round, just look at this reffing.
EDIT: 50th post, woot! xD
EDIT 2: Fixed reffings below, reasoning for high damage is included in there.

Sludge Bomb x2 ~ Flamethrower
Greenhorn CutsiePie stands opposite old hand CEB on a hugely experienced old field, AKA Indigo Plateau. From each side of the field is a red flash, followed by 2 pokemon emerging. One in the form of a pile of putrid sludge with the basic name Grimer, and the other a baby grass snake with arms and legs named Solid Snake.
***
First to move is Grimer, who summons a ball of sludge to throw at the young Snivy. However, Solid Snake had a plan. Waiting until the goo was just about to hit, he coated himself in a translucent armour that deflected the goo right back towards Grimer. It wasn't completely deflected however, some of the goo hit Solid Snake in the gut. Hard. (-7 HP SS, -6 NRG SS, -9 NRG Grimer) The amount of goo that was reflected was now neutralised and had a slight psychic aura to it, so the returned bomb was much more powerful and now had a type advantage against Grimer. The poor gal took the hit, and groaned before slumping downward to take the pain. (-21 HP Grimer)
***
The stinging Grimer started to hack and cough, summoning yet another ball of sludge and slime. She figured that the grass snake wouldn't use the same tactic again, after all, lightning doesn't strike twice. But this move was psychic type, not electric. Solid Snake started to glow once again, the translucent barrier covering the surface of his skin once more. The small amount of slime that got through the barrier must have had some intense toxins inside, because it left the Snivy poisoned. (-8 HP SS, -7 NRG SS, SS is now PSNed, -11 NRG Grimer) Once again the deflected goo was imbued with the energy of the mind, thus it had a type advantage over the Grimer and even went as far as to neutralise some of the goo that made up her body. (-23 HP Grimer) The toxins began to take effect on Snivy, and he coughed a little before standing tall again, proud of the damage he had done on his larger opponent with a type advantage. (-2 HP SS)
***
As you'd expect, Grimer wasn't in a great mood at this point. He'd been hit by two of his own moves, which had been powered up and given a psychic edge to make them sting a heck'uv a lot more. He let the anger well up inside him, and gave the snake all he had with one hell of a burst of flame. As the Grimer had suspected, Solid Snake once again used the move mirror coat. Man, that was getting old. The slightly cooled flames were still hot enough to hurt though, evidently. (-10 NRG Grimer, -10 HP SS, -5 NRG SS) Once again a portion of the flames were sent back towards it's user, the flames now showing a faint pink tint. Grimer knew what was coming now, and braced itself for the flames that were now imminent. (-24 HP Grimer) Solid Snake obviously knew that this round had gone in his favour, as he crossed his arms and looked haughtily across to the dishevelled Grimer in the other corner of the arena. The Grimer grinned when Solid Snake's smug expression faded and he burst into yet another fit of coughs. (-2 HP SS)

This round was reffed with a 40 HP damage cap, and mirror coat did so much damage because the power of the original attack, (which was already high) was increased and then given a psychic typing which Grimer is obviously weak against.

That is a lot better thanks Cynder. Ok Solid looks like we are still on the back foot due to the typing. Ok start off with a Glare to paralyse it in its tracks, Then hit it with a Leech Seed to get some of your energy back. Finish off with a devastating Leaf Storm. Ok lets see how this works out, we are going to use those subs to our advantage. Start off with a Wrap to get Magic Coat to sub out for the Pain Split. Then since you should be fast hit with another 2 Leaf Storms. Can you also state when Snivy is/is not taunted.

I'm currently going to ref it is struggle instead of Magic Coat, because I noticed last round that Magic Coat couldn't be used by Grimer and CEB's attacks specifically mentioned activating the sub so that Pain Split wouldn't be used. If CEB has any issues with this he's free to change his moves accordingly.
According to bulbapedia Wrap isn't affected by magic coat anyway.
According to the ASB movelist as well as Veekun, Magic Coat will reflect Trap inducing moves and since Wrap is a trap move Magic coat will reflect it.
~*~*~* Unown Awards *~*~*~"Y"earning | "B"anner Guy | "K"urosakura's
Umm... CEB shouldn't be allowed to change his moves either. The only circumstance where a battler should be allowed to change his/her moves is when the ref screws something up and it's pointed out after the battler has posted attacks.
According to veekun, Magic Coat's effect is as follows:
Since wrap is a damaging move, it will not be reflected by magic coat, according to veekun. If a move trapped the opponent but did not deal any initial damage, it would be reflected.Originally Posted by veekun
From the movelist:
From that, one could argue that Water Pulse should be reflected, since it induces confusion. Same for Zap Cannon (induces paralysis). No sane ref would do that, so this is a flawed definition. The same flaw applies to the definition of prankster, where "non-damaging" was originally omitted. So, if we assume that damaging moves are the problem, then we are back to where we were.Originally Posted by movelist
As a result, the substituted move never comes up, and the fact that cutsiepie posted an invalid move is irrelevant anyway.
In any case, sorry for interfering, but I got a call from CutsiePie telling me to come and look, so I've come and looked.
[14:48:30] .:- Steampunk Angel -:. {{I love Ben}} says:
oh chaos your awesome lol
Yeh I think I see where it all went wrong here, mainly due to me only getting my information from 1 damn site. What it means by trapping inducing moves is that it stops the pokemon from fleeing the battle, such as Spider Web and Block. However Veekun doesn't actually state these as "Trap Inducing" moves, instead classifying moves such as Wrap and Whirlpool as the trap inducers.
I think that this was further compounded by the ASB Movelist description of the move which omits the non damaging part, something must have clicked in my head that Wrap could have been used.
Also I am amazed that the fact that Grimer couldn't learn Magic Coat hasn't come up soon due to the attacks from the previous round. Because in the situation mentioned below since my attack was Glare and it is Magic Coatable, Grimer should have switched out the Taunt for the Magic Coat, but since it couldn't learn it, it wouldn't have been able to. But instead Taunt was used.

Solid Snake ran towards Grimer, as though to give her a big hug. When he did however, he really wasn't gonna let go. Grimer had other ideas though, and concerntrated on the pain that he was inducing her with. A small conduit opened between the two pokemon to transfer a huge amount of energy between the two pokemon to really even out the game and average out the HP. (-14 HP SS, -5 NRG SS, +15 HP Grimer, -6 HP Grimer, -15 NRG Grimer) Snivy's grip loosened slightly when he shuddered from the effects of his poisoning, but he really wasn't going to let go. (-3 HP SS)
***
Whilst still in close range, Solid Snake charged himself up for his next attack. Grimer however had other ideas. She simply grabbed the Snivy and let the toxins embedded in her skin seep into him, worsoning because of his poisoning and giving him a real shock, which really put him off the eventual Leaf Storm which despite the huge power boost didn't seem to do that much damage. (-12 HP SS, -9 NRG SS, +20% SpA SS, -13 HP Grimer, -7 NRG Grimer) Solid Snake lost grip this time when he spluttered and coughed. (-3 HP SS)

Now Solid Snake really used that huge special attack boost to his advantage and sent the next huge flurry of leaves with as much power as he could flying towards Grimer. (-16 HP Grimer, -10 NRG SS) His special attack couldn't go any higher than what it was though, so the extra energy just went to waste. Grimer grabbed hold of Solid Snake and let her toxins seep into Solid Snake once again giving him a nasty shock. Type advantages aren't fun. Ok Solid use a Leaf Tornado around you to prevent anything from sneaking up around you and then use Wrap to grab Grimer and pull her into the Tornado to damage it.

Ok, so i have one question, what happens when a move would cost more energy than the Pokemon using it has Hp + Energy? does the move still happen, ie. the damage, even though the Pokemon would obviously faint in the process?
Yeah, it'd still happen in the case of energy but with a much lower attack power, and they may even lose control of the attack and hurt themselves in the process. And 0 HP = Fainted.
ok, coolies
