Hoothoot can cure sleeping problems by using hypnosis but it can't cure itself of sleeping problems due to it's insominia ability. Once it puts an enemy to sleep with hypnosis, hoothoot can follow it up with confusion, to win the battle.

Hoothoot can learn feather dance, which lowers a pokemon attack, thus costing your opponent the offensive edge that it may have. However if Hoothoot uses swagger, it regains that offensive edge.


As you can see I based this riddle mostly off of hoothoot's attack list, since I thought that would make it more challenging.

Castform can change its' form, and thus its' 'power', depending on the weather. However, its physical stats, as I recall, are terrible.

These Pokemon can slip through solid walls, including floors. This is one of their ways of scaring people. The Yellow Pokedex specifically says that "A Gengar is close by if you feel a sudden chill."

Fighting and Normal moves are useless against Ghost Pokemon, as you basically can't hit them with most physical moves. Rather than try to fight these three in a hopeless battle, it's better to run and avoid their curses.

They can be caught in the wild. It is a decent rock and fire pokemon since it can learn some of the strongest rock, fire, and normal type attacks.

Being a rock/fire type makes it extremely weak against water. In ruby and saphire a lot of new water pokemon were introduced, which is a bad thing. All of those powerful attacks that it can learn won't do any good since there is a good chance that your opponent will be a water type.

If you hit Slugma/Magcargo there is a chance og getting burned by it's flame body ability. This can decrease your chances of winning.

Spore puts an opponent to sleep without fail, while False Swipe whittles down HP without inducing a KO. This is the best way to ensure a capture, besides using a better ball.

With the addition of RSE came Breloom, a faster Pokemon with the same moves.

Parasect is not only slower than Breloom, but its Effect Spore ability could poison the opponent and spell catastrophe.
