Just as long as it doesn't affect the sunny shores of Australia, I'm fine. Completely oblivious to that info, in fact the Japanese delay of one week is more annoying to me because it means another week until all info is leaked.
I still haven't quite calculated when to expect the Aussie date, anyhow. I'm fairly confident it won't be as bad as the UK, hopefully it won't be too far off the North American date. (Perhaps it's been delayed in NA to push the Aus date forward?)

Anyway, the new Pikmin stage looks absolutely magnificent, and I can picture it really giving off a wonderful feeling when coupled with the music we've heard so far. Even provoked me to go play Pikmin 2, where I quickly wiped out a squadron 100-strong in the Cave of Heroes. Damn that place!!

First of all, I'd like to say that the new delay = MAJOR BUMMER (and strange, to boot...the Japanese version got delayed ONE WEEK but the American version got delayed ONE MONTH!!).

Yay for Sheik coming back, though...simply because she's a Veteran!

Oh, and the Challenges mode,Distant Planet ("Pikmin") stage, and Pikmin & Olimar's Final Smash are good stuff, too.

BTW, did you know that the Dojo now lists each character's Special Moves and Final Smash in a table below the first four screenshots on their respective pages? (I saw this with Sheik last night, but I didn't know about the others having that until I read Brawl Central's front page.)

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but it confused the high hell out of me. In this video, Sonic is fighting DK. About three seconds in, Sonic uses his B Up move, creating a spring. The thing is, midway through using this move, he uses an entirely different attack, kicking DK in the face.
So what does this mean? Is it simply a matter of Sonic's B Up having a second part where you can launch downwards at a button press (since there is also footage of him springing without this attack), or is he actually breaking an old Smash Bros law and actually using a completely different move after using his B Up?

Oh, and as for the delays...according to ShortFuse at the Smash World Forums, the Japanese delay was caused by game disk shortages; they couldn't make enough!

I think we know why the game was delayed. Yes, Sakurai took too long finishing the game. Because of this, they don't have enough time to press and ship the game for the 24th. In fact, there won't be as many copies as Nintendo wants available on the 31st. Yes, that's right. LIMITED QUANTITIES in the first shipment to stores. Also, 31st is LAUNCH DATE, not ship date. Nintendo has confirmed that the game will be shipped a few days prior to the 31st. The total number of copies at launched will be less than that of Mario Galaxy. I hope you guys listened to my advice last week and pre-ordered.

As for America's delay, my Dad thinks - and he's not alone here - that the shortage of Wiis here is the cause of that. Why release a red-hot title for a console that's in short supply?

That's not a very likely reason to delay a game at all. The Wii is probably gonna stay in short supply all year, just like last year. If that's the case smash bros would never come out. Disk shortages also seems like an extremely weird reason to delay a game. Lots of games don't go gold until about 2 weeks before they come out and that doesn't stop them from having a million game disks on the shelves, bigger games might take 3 or 4 weeks instead of two, but it's not that long of time.

Here's the real reason the game was delayed. It's Nintendo, all their big first party games are always delayed till they are perfect. It's been going on for more than a decade now.

Ness I'm entirely indifferent to as a character, and I thought they pretty much made him redundant with Lucas, I'm happy he got in, simply for all the Ness fans out there. I know how much it sucks to have your boy removed, but now, voila! Ness!
Jigglypuff was fairly automatic, for me, Lucario is the big news here. And he makes sense, too... 4th gen rep, important in one of the movies, insane level of popularity, plus it just plain looks badass. I've said a couple times in the past that I thought he'd make a good Smash rep, though I didn't actually think it was likely he would really get in. All the same, I'm excited! But also...
Those screens show all the playable Pokemon characters, and that list lacks Mewtwo and Pichu. In the case of the latter, we all knew it was coming (Pika with the goggles pretty much confirmed it), and it's a pretty stiff blow to Mewtwo fans. I imagine it had something to do with his hitbox.

So yes. Discuss! And, if this is proven yet more grievous lies, feel free to take swipes at me for it. lol

Ness: I really liked him in Melee, but movewise Lucas is the new Ness, so Ness seems kind of unnecessary. But given the general lack of clones so far, I'm wondering if he will have a new moveset to better reflect his character.
Jigglypuff: Given, and likely unlockable by simply beating classic to stick to the tradition.
Lucario: Yay! Looks like Mewtwo has a replacement, hopefully one that doesn't slide around everywhere and moves a bit faster.

Amazon UK have pushed back their unconfirmed release date to the 29th Feb from the 1st. Not like it was going to come out then, but still...grasping at straws and all that jazz, I hope to God we get it before America I still need a Wii though, so it not coming out until the summer could be a good thing. On the bright side, the 29th is the same day Guilty Gear comes out here, so I'm going to be all FIGHTAN GAEM'D out by the time April comes around.

I've heard the rumours of the character (Spoiler:) R.O.B. floating around in a couple places, and might I say, it never ceases to piss me off. It was an idiotic inclusion in MKDS and is no more valid here.
Seriously, I friggin' hate R.O.B. The only revival it needed was to have its name used for a cast member of Star Fox. Leave it at that.

The thing that makes this claim less valid however, is how R.O.B. has been shown as an enemy in Subspace. Sure, it could double roles up, but that gives me a gleam of hope that its playability is a lie.

This is a bit late, but the aerial combat system has been pretty much redone. You can attack and I think jump after an Up-B no matter who you are. You can just only use the Up-B once, and you still only have two jumps total (bar the flying/floating characters). Also, air dodges no longer propel you in a certain direction; they just give you a few frames of invincibility as you continue going in the same direction as you were beforehand.

At least, this is how it is to my understanding. I could be a bit off on some of the details.

Zelda: Final Smash: Yes, we know it's Light Arrows and that both Zelda and Sheik have it...but did you know the arrow's impact changes depending on the character? I didn't 'till now.

Manaphy: I'm not surprised he's in, but I was expecting him to be like Mew/Celebi! That Heart Swap thing sounds crazy!

I'm also excited for Olimar... But after the absolute win-factor of the Pokemon Trainer (PLAYABLE F'IN IVYSAUR, THANK YOU) not much else gets my interest. 'cept Sonic, Wi-Fi and stage builder. Those were the four big updates for me.

Super Mario Bros.: Ground Theme - Music that goes with the following stage...

Mushroomy Kingdom - It's the first level of "Super Mario Bros."...in a desert! Not only does the stage scroll sideways as you fight (effectively making it a horizontal version of "Melee's" Icicle Mountain and "Brawl's" Rumble Falls), but sometimes you'll end up fighting in the second level instead!

Test Battle: Tokyo vs. Kyoto - This is supposed to be a video of a test of online gameplay...some great footage here!

Oh, and did you know the Japanese "Brawl" site has a totally different video than the others? Here they are at Gametrailers:

Masterpieces - Basically, you'll be able to play many of the games that "Brawl's" characters came from in the game! At least some of them will be demos, though.

Yeah, it does. Me and my Dad believe that this is pretty much a confirmation of Marth's veteran status, simply because the main heroes and heroines of all the other games they featured in yesterday's update are playable.

Unless they're using Google images to find the character portraits nowadays.
