Two different source materials for that.

A: It has been stated as pretty much a fact in the Remake topic on Serebii forums. Since it is down I cant give you a direct link.

B: Bulbapedia also mentions it.

Well, Bulbapedia has it the way Roy described. Maybe that source has it backwards, though; the reverse seems to make more sense as you said, Pory. Hard to say for sure.
