The original versions' names came second in FireRed and LeafGreen so DuskGold and DawnSilver make sense, not sure where everyone was getting GoldSun and SilverMoon from. I personally would love the idea of Gold/Silver remakes, not just for the nostalgia, but given the capacity of a DS card, they could probably fit a fully fleshed out Johto and Kanto in the game (some beta areas of Johto had to be removed because Kanto wouldn't have fit on the GBC cartridge otherwise).
Although I don't think this is likely, my original vision of the GSC remakes was that one version would be practically identical to the originals (except for updated graphics, fleshed out regions, etc.), while the other would have some storyline differences and different layouts for caves to make it a fresh experience. I'm thinking along the lines of in DawnSilver, it was the Tin Tower that burned down instead of the Brass Tower, and Ho-oh that flew away. This version of the story could even be linked with the legendary birds, instead of the beasts, (since the game is based around Lugia). The birds could appear in the ruins of the Tin Tower and appear randomly in Johto after you find them. That way the people looking for nostalgia have one option and the people looking for a new experience have another.
