The poverty line differs from country to country. There are millions in the US that live in relative poverty. Relatively, there are more in relative poverty in Mexico than in the US, but I'd imagine there is little absolute poverty in Mexico. The fact is, it is unjustifiable to call Mexico a third-world country. I'd wager you to go to Mexico, then go to any African nation like Sudan, which isn't even the bottom ten, and then you'd see a real third world country. Mexico is far more developed and I'd guarantee any Mexican would be offended if you called their homeland an impoverished third-world nation.
