The first six rounds took all of 15 minutes. I should know, I slept through that. Accursed night shifts!!

Im officially renaming my team the Mongrel Mob since its made up mostly of random guys noone else wanted (read: stole from me before i could pick em) *glares*
And i already needed to trade out an Injury....*sigh*

Eli Manning is on the block because I have Aaron Rodgers.. willing to listen to all offers
Marshawn Lynch in round 2 and a WR corps. starring Randy Moss and Andre Johnson? Pfft, forget about it - you kids are in for some pain. Autodraft made the dangerous picks for me as I slept in, then I picked up some sleepers to close things out.
DRAFT GRADE: A
Hopefully my first 3 picks this year of Adrian Peterson, Braylon Edwards, and Ryan Grant won't be as disastrous as my first 3 picks of last year, Larry Johnson, Reggie Bush, Cedric Benson >.<. All in all, I think I got some solid picks in, other than the whole Cutler/Gostowski mixup, which is really frustrating. But eh, fantasy football's a whole different game than fantasy basketball, draft picks are entirely unpredictable. Last year I drafted Brady in round 4 and Romo in round 9, and they ended up being the best QBs last season. Bottom line is that in football, judging your draft picks before the season has even starts is ineffective.
I've got an elite back, three top WRs, and the top TE in the league. I'm more unstoppable than Eli Manning.
So, like, one problem. The WRs I autodrafted, while awesome, ALL SHARE THE SAME BYE WEEK! This is a big problem for WR since it's much tougher to fill in three from the bench than two RBs or one of other positions. :/ Worse still is it's the Week 4 bye, the earliest one. I'm interested in most any 1-for-1 offer with similar elite WRs, if I can help you fix any "same bye week" issues as well. (After all, no reason to scratch my back if I can't scratch yours...) Also interested in downgrading at WR if you can offer me an upgrade at QB or can fix my starting RBs ALSO sharing the same bye. (Real dandy work there autodraft, Jesus Christ. ~_~ It's less of an issue with RBs, though.)
See my post on the League message board on Yahoo! for more details. (Actually, it's the same details worded differently.) I already sent out potential offers to about half the league and there's only a couple of people I have no real interest in trading with. I'm willing to trade basically anyone, but I'll need to talk serious with you for anything involving Westbrook or Wayne. I'm not as willing to give them up...

Pfft, that doesn't stop hundreds of 'experts' from doing it every year, and hating on my Titans picking Chris Johnson... I practically guaran-damn-tee that I've got one of the most stable set of picks this year; no foreseeable drop-off, and practically a defiance to avoid the injury bug. ...I'm feeling just that arrogant this year.![]()
By the end of this season, the above post should be the most oft-quoted in the history of the TPM Fantasy Football League.![]()
No doubt in a Kitna way, not a Namath way. ...But hey, someone's gotta do it.![]()
XD for sure.
But seriously DragoKnight, that is quite bullshit. In fantasy basketball, it's really rare to see a guy you pick in the first 3 rounds flop for the entire season. Early season ending injuries are relatively rare, and it's even more rare that the player just sucks (the only example that comes to mind is Andrei Kirilenko after that season where he started out averaging 5 blocks a game and then got injured, everybody was picking him early the next year and he just died). In football on the other hand, look at my top 3 picks last year. All were top ranked running backs, all ranked top 50 overall picks by every major source, and they all flopped catastrophically, and not even due to early season ending injury. Not that I'm complaining, my 4th round pick was Brady and that took me to the championship.
BTW, just so you know, I'm winning the championship this year, so don't even try![]()
totally worked all weekend. will be quite interesting season with my lovely misfits.
Looks who's completely taking the league by storm. Again.

...I hate it when second place is pitted against the one person who does better. Meh. On the plus side, at least my guys have shown they can possibly be reliable. Not stellar, but reliable. Too many times last year I had really sub-par performances from too many guys. This year... now only some of my goons are mediocre!
And im leaving all my points on the bench as usual.
Also i really need a clean out at WR and probably RB too. I really screwed up my draft this year by trying to do it myself lol.

Well I'm still looking to not auto-lose Week 4, if anyone can upgrade me at QB in return... THE BURNER might also be up for offers.

*cries* i lost by 1 point. Damn you McGahee! "Yeah im available and on the bench but you know what, i wont bother playing today!"
I dont care if hes a guaranteed start or not, hes Benched this week. I think i have too many WR/RB options (although i dont think a couple of them even count as an option)
Im also gonna struggle with Byes as my TE and K are both on the same bye week, may have more but i havent checked yet.
Also, on further inspection week 10 is gonna hurt like a bitch with 2 of my WR's and RB's out.

Sorry if it's a little late, but I snicker at the poor fool who drafted Tom Brady this year.
Also, 1-0, Huzzah. On the downside, major receiver clusterfuck, my 3 receivers combined for 3.55 pointsWasn't Braylon Edwards supposed to be good? Anyway, this week's matchup should be interesting. Mr E's going down.
anyone wanna trade a lowly bench WR that doesn't leave me with a double bye(eagles and arizona week 7)...if u want desean jackson(eagles) for...preferably anyone that isnt a free agent or on waivers(injured etc)....![]()
Meh, it's not worthwhile for me to trade anyone for Jackson. I could resolve your bye problem via other means, though. Galloway for Boldin would leave you with a week 10 rather than two 7s. Sound doable?
nah...ill take a bye.
todays games went decent, i lost, but parker held up strong with over 100 yards. glad my raiders won but mcfadden was on my bench, didnt know he was going to be the big boy now. oh well.
lets see how the cowboys/eagles game is tomorrow, will definitely be a good game.
Damn them teasing me with Stat-tracker for week 1 and then denying me my scores till all the games are played....
...i havent a clue how im doing lol. Isnt looking too bad though, gotta love that Giants D!

u currently have...63.27 with TO left monday night. all my games are finished with 56.69.
gogo stattracker lol
My Bears defense officially rocks. I thought I'd be going virtually head-to-head, Romo vs. Barber on Monday for this week's game... until I realized that the blocked punt TD return gave me a seven-point advantage going into Monday's game. Second week in a row with a TD. Booyah!
Phooo... that was a big mistake, forgetting to bench Andre Johnson - especially since I had been talking so much about the rescheduled game and everything, earlier today I was even pondering if I had any Ravens players, breathed a sigh of relief that I didn't...
Anyhow, who'd have thought that Randy Moss would be such a dud this week (sign of the Cassel era?) while mai boiiii Chris Chambers (8th round pick, #77 overall) would snag two TDs to help boost my score, and the man who may prove to be steal of the draft Kurt Warner (round 13, #124) pulls me through in a style akin to LT back in '06... Looks like Carson's time may be running out; I don't really feel any urge to pull Kurt any time soon!
Oh, hell yeah! Romo just absolutely launched one to Owens for a 72-yard TD! Death to the girlfriend-in-the-stands curse, baby!
Damn it, Jay Cutler benched = short an extra 25 points that would've given me the win. I'm benching Drew Brees and Ryan Grant for Jay Cutler and Selvin Young, they've been absolutely useless so far, and the Broncos offense is probably going to tear the Saints defense to pieces next week. 80 points in 2 games? Crazy shit.
In the meantime, my 3 highest scoring players last week? Ryan Longwell, Tony Scheffler, and the Seahawks defense, drafted them in the 15th, 11th, and 13th round respectively. Why do my top draft picks always suck?
Yah i think ill be benching Favre in favour of McNabb this week. Mcnabb has been scoring pretty well since it seems he likes throwing huge passes this year. After two games hes thrown 642 yards opposed to Favre's 375. Providing his receivers dont throw the ball away before they get the TD (Dumbass) then he should continue to score high.
BTW, was it just me or was someone talking about dropping Eli Manning at the first available opportunity?![]()

I really feel outclassed this week... Need to choose which of my futile options is least futile, and hope that they can surprise. Tempted to plug in Ronnie Brown, but that may be just one step too far.
*looks at LT*
*looks at Jones and Jones-Drew*
*benches LT*
He'll inevitably score 30 points this week. But at least then he'll be back to his usual high-scoring self. If I keep him in the lineup, he'll put up 2s and 3s for half the season. That's just the way it works.
week 3 is going to be probably deciding factor on me making playoffs. mr e here i come, even with my mediocre team, ill overcome you![]()
Ben Roethlisberger throws -7 yard pass to himself
I'm sure that's just all kinds of help, isn't it, Roy? Suddenly I feel like I'm playing fantasy peewee flag football.
Don't think LOLOFFENSIVELINE Jones-Drew is going to do any better than the whiner...
Man I'm too good.

3 of the top 4 teams in total points are 1-1, that's an interesting little statistical anomaly.
And yeah, right, at least I didn't draft Brady. My plan this year was to avoid drafting him like the plague, because everybody's jumping on his bandwagon after I got to the best record in the league last year with nothing but Brady and waiver wire, so he was bound to be a disappointment this year. I just didn't think he'd be this much of a disappointment XD.
Hey, I pride myself on drafting to have just enough points to beat every team I play. It's a strategy, damn it! No luck involved!
(If you want a real statistical anomaly, one of the 2-0 teams is less than ten points better than the last-place team.)
...Oh, and as I said before, I'm going to get Brady really, really cheaply in my retention league next year. >_<
Alrighty folks, as a change of pace - I thought I might dig through the TPM Football archives to take a squiz at the various records that have been achieved over the previous two seasons. Obviously it would be infuriating to incorporate this season's stats on the fly, so I'll only detail records up to the 07/08 season. Some surprises contained within! Hopefully there's no mistakes in here, but if there is be sure to let me know.
Obviously, most of the negative records were held by 2006's unmanned BYE team, but they're not really interesting facts in any way so I've just included them as a sub-record. The only BYE-related stat that I've kept intact is with relation to wins.

FYI, the largest true margin of victory was likely the New York Thunder's 106-20 win over the Michigan Dragons in week 7 of 2006.
And keeping track of stats as they develop is difficult, is it? Have you checked the first post of this thread lately? Those aren't all just copied and pasted from the league page, you know. Some (like the points of opponents) require a lot of calculation. Including score corrections, ugh.
