The final Pokemon for my Gym today is Lapras - or Ozpras. She's also a girl.

For myself, I'm getting a Stantler. Male. I want a trusty Pokemon for OzWhore and OzMime to ride on. I'm quite satisfied with my team at this point. I wouldn't mind building up my gym.

Ha, ha, ha A lot of the people that hated me (and the reason that I gave up my position and ran away from this place) are gone now, so I must look rather silly for even posting those disclaimers.

I've been reading some of the referee stuff and energy costs seem to be steep these days >_> Making pokémon more likely to be KOed by energy loss than by health loss. Energy costs should generally be like half of the returns (damage, protection, whatever), although sometimes they cost a lot (like Protect, Reflect, Hyper Beam) or cost next-to-nothing (like standing still). I'm feeling a little doubtful that I'll be able to do anything that I try to do in battles =/ Although I guess I could just order a do-nothing and somehow recover energy even though the pokémon didn't eat anything to be able to do that XD It makes sense that energy doesn't go down when the pokémon is standing still, but just because it catches its breath doesn't mean that it has any food stores left in its body to burn There's also another reason energy cost should be toned down instead of allowing spontaneous energy recovery, for balance issues. I could tell an Alakazam that's low on health: Teleport to a hard to reach spot, Recover, do nothing until energy fully recovers. If the other guy does the same thing battles won't end. If the opponent doesn't have a health-recovery move like Alakazam then he might just get frustrated. Either problem will make battles less fun Though I'd rather just forfeit than play a never-ending fight.

But yeah, stuff is a bit different now. Might take me some time to get used to it. Looks fun though. But I'm definitely gonna try not to be so involved anymore... Reffing and such took too much of my time. And I don't have the right to try to influence something that I've abandoned before. So I'll just stick to battling to be safe. Readjust to how people ref now even if I believe differently.

[WORTHLESS RANT]Naw, seriously, though, I *think* if you perform a search you might still find remnants of posts from "Charizard04621" that are a few years old. They might be gone, I think TPM had its down times and deleted some stuff, but maybe you can find some things. I apologize for boring you with my history, but since you did ask... I was a mod of RBY back when that forum still existed, I followed the guy that had given me his mod spot (SilverSuicune/Prodigy) to ASB, and became a mod here as well, though that was years ago - I think maybe I was like, a third- or fourth- generation mod, I vaguely remember the people who used to mod with tygerofdanyte and such and I'm not sure if Impereon was second or third generation because I don't know if tygerofdanyte was first or second gen. This place took up way too much of my time, I did a lot of reffing (posted detailed reffings within a day of issued commands), handled the entire ref tower (paid referees even though I wasn't the head ref, made tricky Mock Battles, did all the ref promotions/approvals, did this in a timely fashion - every week or something I think), pretty much did the team approval tower myself even though I wasn't either of the two head approvers (back when there were signature moves and people hated on me for being "strict" on moves I thought were overpowered, and even though there were SO many approvals to do I did them daily), then I got a lot of hate for modding, standing up for mods that people didn't like (like Impereon), etc. Then some people accused me of abusing power or cheating in battles or being a biased referee or being a biased approver just because they didn't like me and they knew I didn't like them. There was also hate because I was strict about promoting people that I didn't feel were good enough. I know I was fair so I felt no guilt but it killed me just to be accused because I really care about that kind of thing and I take pride in being honest. It didn't help that I was pretty much dealing with everything alone towards the end. There were other mods, but they became inactive and also we weren't allowed to mod people that we wanted to. Hell it took SO much effort to even get to mod T_M_L and she was a great candidate but L_P was so hard to convince because the people who complained about us were her friends so she didn't trust anything we said. Too much stress. I took it. I took it for a while but I caved in. It was wrong to kind of just run away and leave T_M_L to clean up the disgusting mess, but *shrug* I stopped caring I guess, I got a lot of hate for doing my job for a long time and decided it was no longer worth it to do everything for people who didn't like me anyway. Long story short it doesn't really matter who I am, nobody remembers and nobody cares I apologize for the boring history. But thank you for the welcome ^_^ It'll be a nice place to hang out without worrying about responsibilities anymore.

You used to be one of my favourite referees back in the old ASB, but here in the new ASB, that referee favourism clearly belongs to DarkestLight, it's hard to beat a guy who has reffed a lot of battles here, including several at once (at least 7 or so, maybe more?).

But back on the referee thing, I probably won't be into it either, but you never know.

Well, things are different now, and they are going pretty smooth. Strictness is pretty cool I think, there should be room for creativity, but rules are very much important. As is common politeness.

On the energy reffing: Energy KO's are not 'in' anymore. Pokemon swap in 1EN for 1HP if their energy has reached zero (like in CEB's reffings) or they have to wait/relax/lay dead for an entire round to get some health back (like in my reffings). Yeah, it's complicated, but it makes sense. Sometimes.

I just hate energy KO's. Sorry.

I remember reading some of your battles Lune. I'm sure you don't know me, but I'm one of the Mods here these days, and much of what you described is kinda how I'm going now-except the too much time here part. Never too much time.... KOT's right, I've been known to hold down 14 reffings at a time (never again though) if only for the sake of helping to continue the flow of the place-and I'm stretched here and there with every other tower and other assorted duties..

So anyway, you know the score, yer approved and I mean, if ya got any questions, feel free to shout at me. I'm trying to fix and shine up a few things here and there-and I'm always open to hearing suggestions. But I hope this time around you find ASB a little less stressful. Since when was the Internet serious??!?!

Yeah, DarkestLight, I can relate to you - I used to ref an incredible amount of battles at the time and post at least one update (usually more) per day depending on how fast the battlers chose their attacks. They were quality reffings too, they weren't hurt just because I turned them out quickly. There was one point where there was a shortage of refs, I would see so many battles go without one and so I'd take them on, on top of the battles that people requested me for... (And they yelled at me for not promoting them; yeesh, how can I promote refs who don't perform their duties? The only things they freaking reffed were the single round mock battles to try to get promotions...) And tower stuff on top of that, plus I pretty much took all the hate because I was the only active mod. A lot of the hate was directed at other mods but I kind of absorbed it while defending them. >_>

But really, I'm glad to see that someone with a great work ethic is running the place. Thank you for the approvals I'm planning to tone down my involvement because I wouldn't want to intrude on what you've set up, I'd rather just try it and go along with it; everything I touch seems to break even though I only did it because the work needed to be done, and the people who were supposed to do the work, weren't doing it. That said, ASB is looking great, I think I'll be able to relax here I certainly won't ever be as stressed as last time no matter what, anyway; my tolerance level has grown. I've just learned how to not let things bother me anymore.
