I'm new here, and I usally go on Serebii everyday, and I haven't had a prob at all. I never heard there was a prob. (But that may be because I don't go to the forms).

Just out of curiosity, what do some of you have against Serebii.net?

Yeah some other people have covered it. Serebii tends to steal from other sites. They've even flat out admitted it before. In fact I can't remember if it was them or another Pokémon site but I do remember that an extremely long time ago one site went so far as to steal our LAYOUT as well as the news. They went so far as to copy one of the old TPM's layouts right down to the colors and the fonts.

Now granted TPM has used layouts in the past that many websites use. When it comes to the internet many sites do use the same basic layout because it's simple and it works. You can't really call that stealing. However you just can't hide fonts and colors when it's our news as well. There's copying, there's stealing and then there is being downright blatant :-/

Rumors will always persist, especially when there was truth to them at one point in time...

Anyway, just ignore any such accusations because the last thing we need is a big, long, unproductive debate over stupid shit.

Well as Red said rumors shall always remain when said rumors were true at one point. I admit that I haven't laid eyes upon your site for a long time. As a result perhaps maybe I was a bit quick to say it in a way suggesting it still happens all the time. However the bottom line remains: it shouldn't have happened in the first place. At the very least if you gonna take it word for word from someone else then at least give credit to the place. Also note how I said that I wasn't 100% sure about the layout thing. All I remembered was that someone did it and used TPM's layout, fonts and the news word for word. As I said before a basic layout is nothing. The same fonts and news however are blatant. In any case it wasn't you guys who did it and I even said I wasn't sure it was you so chill.

With all that aside I will give you credit however. You did become the biggest site. Just try not to be a fool and jump around pointing fingers if someone does happen to badmouth Serebii. You do need to remember that due to how you got your info in the early days that there will be people all over the net that will say things about you. If you got a problem talk it over with mods or admins first. Getting overly defensive in a rival public forum only leads to the idiots on that rival forum going to your board and potentially starting a flame war. In return that possibly leads to people from your board doing the same. When that happens both forums lose and look childish.

On another note sorry to hear about what happened with Serebii and that virus. I know first hand how damaging they can be. Hopefully you got it all sorted out and it doesn't happen again ^_~

Guys, how about we let sleeping dogs lie? I think everyone's said their peace about the past, we all know what we believe, so let's just drop it... no sense in dwelling too long on the events of several years ago. In particular, I certainly don't think anyone's here to start an inter-forum flame war (as Rudy mentioned). Many of us just want to revive TPM right now, not go into battle with Serebii.
