Well, the original Post/Reply buttons weren't rounded, so this brings back the nostalgia factor for most of us. As for the new buttons I made, I simply modeled them after the Post/Reply buttons, hence the lack of round. Plus the lack of round makes it a LOT easier to keep it useable on dark backgrounds without adding "fringe" to them.

I've been here since nearly the beginning. I know how it was. The sharp corners have annoyed me since then. Also, some programs allow you to simply customize the level of transparency that pixels have, allowing for round corners that look the same on light and dark backgrounds.

True, but I've had problems with people complaining about my "not transparent" PNGs with alpha transparency before (which is what you're talking about). On top of that, not to sound rude, but it really is up to the board as a whole to decide whether to change the images, and all I've been hearing from the people I ask is that everyone loves the new "old" images.

That is, and many people agree. I am not putting this forward as a "here are the new ones" but rather as a "what do people think of these/what should be changed?" Every other image has met with general approval, hence why they were updated on the site almost immediately; I knew these would need some review first since they're the first set if images that are actually replacing an old set rather than revamping old or creating new.

Okay, working on that right now. In-depth pixel art is challenging, but I might be able to salvage it.

EDIT: Phoo, I think the best I can do without making it look crappy is to just feed it the new background color.

Also has anyone considered letting some of the different forums have their own personal banners at the top again? I always thought it was a nice touch. However while some of the old banners would work for that I personally think that they should also be redone (Mewtwo and birds aside). The reason for this being that TPM has changed quite a bit over the years. While the boards may be going back to their roots so to speak, bear in mind the fact that we've got at least a few boards that didn't exist back in the day. The prime example of this would be Mt. Moon.

As far as individual banners go here's my suggestion. For some perhaps hand drawn or computer generated art. For others maybe a real picture that can be submitted and then have our font edited in later. I was thinking of trying to get a pic for the video game board. Perhaps something along the lines of having different controllers and maybe a PSP or DS in the shot as well. That would be an absolutely perfect shot for that board I think.

I'd love to take you up on that :3 So long as Mt Moon's name doesn't change every month like someone suggested...

How big would they have to be? I dunno, but the one we have now seems a little small to me... Height wise it seems fine, but maybe longer width wise?

I've got a scanner and tablet, so can do pretty much anything you want really...

User ranks have supposedly finished updating (which means, the forum says it's done). If you don't have your pokeballs yet, let me know and I'll manually give them to you. I'm one of the members who for some unknown reason haven't been reached by the update, but I don't mind.

It seems to be linked to whether or not the default user title is displayed. Some people have both, but others don't. Those of us who only have a custom title displayed don't have balls.

Can you choose whether or not to display your default user title along with your custom title? If you can, then everyone can choose to show or hide their pokeballs.

Ah, I see what's going on. The balls are part of the user titles, so that's why they're only displayed for people who have their default title displayed.

I wish we could figure out why some people are able to have both while others can't.

OK, it was tricky, but I've managed it. I've had to resort to vB conditionals in the header template using the forum ID as a part of the image name. Not very flexible, but it does the trick.

I agree with kainashi. The logo would definitely look better if there were some scared Zubats flying away on the left

OK, we can now discuss logos for the individual forums. Just a couple of considerations.

1. I will appreciate it if the files are in PNG format. I can handle others, but if they're all in the same format it will save me some extra coding and keep the template neater.

2. IMPORTANT: please make sure you have come to an agreement before giving me the go to upload an image. I can't delete or replace files on the server, so every file I upload stays there and I'll have to rewrite the code for each new version.

I wish I could use the old Misc logo, but it has disappeared. Should we bring back the old PCG logo? I like it, but if most people want a new one, I won't object.

There's also this other logo, which we made but never got to use.

I didn't realise they were buttons... I don't think I was on the site when there were seperate buttons for everything, or I can't rememeber them, so I don't know what they were like. I'd be happy to make them button size or banner size, but I guess it depends how much you want on them.

Solved part: Website Contributors were missing their pokeballs, but I've already fixed that problem. (If I've missed anyone, please let me know.)

Unsolved part: pokeballs don't show for mods/admins/supermods who have edited our custom titles. I haven't found a way to fix that, sorry. But if you're a mod or supermod and want your pokeballs to show on your profile, let me know and I'll paste the HTML into your user title. It's the closest thing I can do.

I think I know why it's not working properly; it's because the Pokéballs appear as part of the level rank, which Moderators and Admins don't have because their status overrides their level rank. What I don't understand is why the Moderator/Admin status replaces the Custom User Title slot instead of the level rank slot, because that's what's happening.

You're right, that is what's happening, but that's how vBulletin works (at least this version). I'm afraid I can't change that. Although I could try making a rank just for mods.
