:;Peers in, lets fireworks fly::
Ok umm lets see. Three parts. Reffing, then people
After reading VP's explanation for how he calculates energy cost and damage ratio, I honestly can't see a fault with that Grey. Yeah, Focus Punch seems a bit high-but at the same time, its a high risk move. You get hit and oh snap, you lost it.
So with Stab its up to 17HP dmg. That's not so bad for energy used though. Maybe the Energy cost should drop actually. 18E for Focus Punch seems high to me even(and I double a bunch of stuff for crap sakes). That can go down to 14, to be honest-trying to align myself with the way you ref here VP.
I got no fault with the doubling of something like Revenge-again the Move list states that it gets "powered up". If the ref chooses to double it, then that's what they choose to do-thought I think that doubling could be seen as the upper tier of "powered up".
VP-K, I dunno if yer having a bad week, but you seem a lil stressed over having another Reffing under your belt-and the whole reward=not real reward thing has you mad. But don't go making all sorts of threats just because Grey voiced an opinion.
Sure, you stated in your rules that you won't change the reffing-and Grey voiced an opinion on it. If he didn't want you as the ref, he would have asked to receive another one. But, as Mike pointed out partially, not everyone gonna look to your sig for your rules. That's something people are going to learn with time. Just like they'll have to learn your parameters with time.
Grey- Although you were simply asking and pointing out what you felt were inconsistencies, you gotta be mindful of the ref style as a whole. You stated that VP was inconsistent because AA didn't deal double damage but Revenge did. Revenge hitting a Pokemon that is not resistant to it-and AA hitting a Pokemon that is weak to it are two different scenarios.
More than one ref here does not double SE damage, but double something like Brine or Reversal because its a situation which much be achieved-rather than being weak to a type. You can't single him-or anyone-out on that. VP just happens to be one who "doubles" moves based on parameters, and not SE effects. Possibly to achieve balance when one of those doubling moves are used on a Pokemon that is weak against it.
Now, I think I addressed the problems here. I'm not knocking either of ya for feeling how you feel about the reffing, but I just hope that each of you can see where I'm coming from as a impartial party. If I missed the point completely, let me know.
MM: Suck it!
