I love that movie! It blew my mind to find out that it was pitched the same time as the Little Mermaid! There's such a gap between the two. Instead of an awesome sci-fi take on a beloved classic, we got a lame movie that was basically a generic copy of the princess movie before it.

But maybe it wouldn't have been so awesome if it came out earlier- I swear, Treasure Planet is a tearjerker. But I always water up at that scene.

OMG, the fox scene and Mufasa's death, I was a little kid and those made me cry.

Mufasa was fucking win back in the day. And I also thought Aladdin was good, no body beats Robin Williams as Genie.

Up. I cried in the first ten minutes of Up, and in various other places as well. Then again, my grandma had just recently passed away and my grandpa (having the same name--Carl--as the protagonist, no less) is in hospice, both due to Alzheimer's.

Even though the trope isn't called 'Disney death' for nothing, there's a lot of touching moments, you know.
The latest movies, Meet the Robinsons, Up and Wall-E, for instance. The first ten minutes of Up really grabbed me, having the whole life of the couple passing by. I was surprised though, I couldn't remember the last time a main protagonist died in a Disney movie. Was that really since Mufasa, or have there been others?

Oh yeah, Treasure Planet. Just saw it a couple of weeks ago for the first time. It's really that old already? I feel wrinkled...

God I must be a coldhearted prick. I've not willingly seen an animated Disney movie in a good 10 years or so but of all the ones I did see up until I stopped watching them I have not once cried during any of them. Didn't shead a tear during Bambi, laughed during the Lion King due to Scar's incredblely drawn out "long live the king"........the list goes on and on.

Ok enough of that......you may now commence with burning me at the stake like the heathen I am
