XP user here too!

And the funny thing is, the laptop that I'm using used to come with Vista, but I changed it after a few people have suggested so (this was about 3 years ago)

And now they're prodding me to change to 7, saying it's better than Vista.

You're also using what IMO is one of the most stable versions of Windows besides 98.

Window ME was one of the most unstable, wasn't it? I used to be running my PC on it for a few years

Window ME was one of the most unstable, wasn't it? I used to be running my PC on it for a few years

ME was absolute garbage. And driver support was nightmarish at best, not as hellish as 95 but still pretty bad. Frequent freezes and errors, I think ME was the one OS where I ended up almost wanting to throw the computer out my window, I had to reformat A LOT.
