Wynth De Luun

It's not that she minded one chatting when they were in her class, gods know she rather hated teaching. But there was one defined thing that a novice may not do, ever, without express permission. And that was channeling, such was that the one noted for apparently being sneaky was now glowing as she attempted to whisper silently to her friend.

Oh. An idiot. Yay.

Her eyes narrowing a tad, Elya suddenly found her mouth clamped firmly shut. Wynth smirked, watching as the girl tried to talk or exclaim something, but it failed.

“Apparently Elya has forgotten the first lesson,” Wynth spoke with such a rigid, instructing tone that everyone went tense. “Can someone please tell me, what can a novice never do, without express permission?”

“Channel.” Talia spoke.

“Right.” Wynth's tone turned darker, but her instructor-like impersonation faded away. “So, let me point out two flaws in your scheme Elya. One: turnin' ya head away when everyone else is lookin' at me, bad idea. Two: you glow when your channelin'. Ever seen a spark-drake in the middle of a dark field? Can't miss it. Kinda like your not so subtle attempt at magic.”

Still her mouth hadn't been freed from the binding, which the teacher found all to amusing. The others were beginning snicker as Wynth smiled at the trapped novice.

“I don't care if you think you're too good for the class, if that's the case, keep quiet and fail. I don't much mind tellin' the mistress you flunked. I imagine you'd get a good beating for that, it's an amusing image really. What I do mind, is that you used magic. I let you pull that skirt up only cuz this tower's dress code is horrible.” Wynth clicked her tongue in annoyance, instinctively her toes shuffled inside her slippers. “So, now you owe me. Bad thing that is. Mistress asked me to have a couple of ya wash the floors of all the non-restricted sections of the tower. You can all thank Elya, she'll volunteered to do it all by herself.”

A couple of mouths dropped open in surprise, still Elya's couldn't.

“Oh, and just for me. Wash all the windows while you're at it? Non-restricted, just like the floors. I want it done by tomorrow.”

Oh, the look the sneak gave the wilder was priceless. Wynth found herself grinning. The binding spell let go of the girl's voice and she coughed, her face turning red with embarrassment and anger.

Hate me all you want, I don't got no sympathy for ya.

“You do anything like that again, and you'll weed all the gardens too.” There was a pause, an afterthought came to the accepted then. “Oh, you should have plenty of time to think of how you're too bleedin' good for the class while doin' that, don'cha think?”

Esyllt looked like she between amusement and worry, Wynth's punishment was harsh. But it was needed, she wasn't one to stick to rules, but she didn't like it when novices dared to insult her either. Respect was something she had earned through her trials here, and she'd be damned if some cocky-too-good novice was going to treat her like dirt. Esyllt gave Wynth a concerned look.

“You don't think thats too harsh?”

“Honestly I should punish you too. Steppin' into my class and inspirin' channeling without permission. What sort of example are you setting?”

She laughed, and Wynth just rolled her eyes and went back to teaching.

“Right then, let's try a new weave. Somethin' that's a little more fun then orbs.” The woman frowned, thinking to herself before beginning a weave.

In her mind she could see a small fire burning at the root of a tree. She knew exactly what it was, it was her power. In a flash her mental image changed so the entire tree was engulfed. A smirk tugged at her lips, fire always excited her.

For a split second, spots of air around her wavered before a small spark ignited. Fluttering around her now were golden and red butterflies, as their wings beat white smoke would escape them.

“Right then, weaves as simple as the orb really. Don't get intimidated by the movements of them.” A few of them were fluttering around the novices, making them smile as the butterflies would fade away when they tried to swipe at them and reappear afterwards. “More spirit though, you're giving life to something. Get a hold of your power now.”

Though some struggled at first, they succeeded. Wynth noted how Ren played her flute playfully and softly.

“Now I chose fire, but any element will do. No choosing spirit through, ghost butterflies don't have the same effect.”

The look of concentration on their faces amused De Luun, but she knew better then to laugh. It could throw them all off, wondering who found it so funny. The first to get the spell, which was even a surprise to the accepted, was Ren. There were water bubble bursts around her before two butterflies emerged. Their wings were icy and their bodies fluid like water, and when they moved, mist followed them.

Her eyes opened excitedly, and the smile on her face seemed to banish whatever was bothering her before. One of little insects landed on the tip of her nose, flapping it's wings every so often to keep balance. She kept playing, even as there were a series of other butterflies joining the sort of dance she inspired.

Definite potential, poor girl shouldn't be ashamed of her block.

“I'm impressed you all can summon something that's living.” Wynth noted, watching as her five fiery butterflies stayed by her, some landing on her shoulders while one perched on the tip of her finger.

The novices had all summoned one or two creatures, though they all seemed to discover that it took a lot of effort to keep the insects in line. Ren's were dancing, only because she was enjoying her music. But past that there was no control from any of them, the butterflies could go wherever they wanted.

“Alright, that's enough for today. I'm sick of all of ya.” The accepted smirked, watching as a few were caught off guard by the remark. With their concentration broke, half of the insects vanished. “Next time, we practice control. Now bugger off and follow Esyllt or something that doesn't involve your presence near me... OH. If I catch any of ya helpin' Elya, you'll get a worse punishment then her.”

~ * ~

My class is over, you can summon a butterfly but not control it very well. Ren doesn't have much control either, so everyone is on even footing.

Note: Don't try to hide your channeling from an accepted who is also your teacher. It never works out well.

Tag anyone who wants to stick around to bug my char. *shrug*

Very, very sorry for any outstanding mistakes, I'm not using my computer and this one doesn't have word... D:
