In regards to Mr. Chen... First of all, the Chinese government is now reluctantly acknowledging that his house arrest was illegal. Second, his supporters are now claiming that, despite efforts to grant him asylum by numerous members of the United States government, he does not even want to leave the country at this point.

Whether the claims of his family being threatened are true or not, possibly... If whoever broke the law by ordering him detained is trying to scare him, they have succeeded.

It seems that we are offering him help, but he is refusing it.

"However, yesterday evening I saw that my phone was being controlled and I heard what had happened to my family and I now feel unsafe. I want to leave China, which is also what the White House had originally advised me to do."

Well, maybe you didn't come right out and say that in so many words, but you implied it.

Apparently he believes, and maybe it is true that the White House told him that he would be welcomed with open arms. When push came to shove the underestimated the Chinese resistance and decided to drop him. Dealing with a totalitarian government like China, things do not always work out as planned.

I've made some claims about who I don't think Romney's running mate will be...

Here's who I think I would choose as a running mate if I were Romney: Virginia governor Bob McDonnell.

Quite frankly, if Romney loses Virginia, he loses this election, and he's already trailing in the polls there.

But this is a double-edged sword, because McDonnell's notorious views could also hurt Romney greatly.

It's just my $0.02.
