Tell that to the folks of Sumatra, Japan, Haiti and everywhere else that has had an earthquake just shit on their lives in the last 20 years :/ Spontaneity can and does happen in relation to geologic events. Sure-you can argue that you can see pressures building under certain areas, but when random quakes hit where there's no underlying pressure epicenters, then logic is tossed to the wayside.
