You ask for your Pokemon back. You make it clear you're not too thrilled with the idea of another battle.



"We'll take you to see the Baron, then," Nuzleaf says, inclining her head.

Sneasel and Nuzleaf open the heavy doors and lead you into the mausoleum. It's rather damp and smells of decay, but you're not about to turn back now. (And at least there don't seem to be any crazy Ariados in here, so that's good.) After winding through several corridors, Sneasel and Nuzleaf lead you into a cavernous chamber with a high-backed throne in the very center. Seated there is a surly Kadabra.



"You have reached the chamber of Baron von Kadabra," the Baron declares as you approach the throne. "What is your business?"

"He's here to see you because he wants his Pokemon back," Sneasel whispers.

"I assumed so," the Baron says, "but it's proper decorum for me to ask him nonetheless."

"Yeah, but isn't that sort of redundant? I mean, he literally just told us, so what's the point in you asking?" Nuzleaf says.

"Silence!" the Baron bellows. "Pokemon trainer! State your business!"

Suddenly, Erandal'e jabs you in the side of the neck. He points upwards with his wing. You glance up above and see Aeolus and Carlos dangling from the ceiling by chains. Carlos smiles dopily and waves.

Urgh. I repeat my previous speech, but I act way more polite. After I finished, "May I ask one thing. Why did you order to capture my Pokémon in the first place? It doesn't seem like you are that of bad guy. If you'd give them back and I could depart soon, I'd be more than thankful."

I really don't care about a Kadabra, though it's a cool Pokémon. Just want to leave as soon as possible.

You ask for your Pokemon back and inquire as to why they were taken to begin with.



"Well, it's rather dull being the Baron of Grave's Yard, you see," the Baron says, sighing. "I mostly just spend my time inventing random new laws and making my underlings enforce them. For example, as of last month, it is now illegal to wear red shoes on Friday. Did you know? Wear them if you don't believe me! I'll have you chained you up so fast you won't see it coming! It's also illegal to put yogurt on crackers, not that anyone does. Oh, and as of yesterday afternoon, all Pokemon not native to Grave's Yard are considered trespassers and are to be detained upon sight. No real reason. It just kind of amuses me. We tolerate the presence of humans and your Murkrow is fine, of course, as plenty of Murkrow live in Grave's Yard, but no Togetic and no Slowpoke allowed."

"That's a really stupid law, you know," Aeolus pipes in, still hanging from the ceiling. "Not that you asked me, but still. It's a stupid, stupid law."



"Yes, well, perhaps," the Baron says, tenting his fingers. "How about this? Human, since I am ever so bored, how about you entertain me by trying to solve three riddles? Well, they aren't really riddles, exactly, but... well, you'll see. Solve them and I'll free your friends and strike down the law. Oh, and if you're searching for any particular Pokemon in Grave's Yard, I'll tell you exactly where to go to find them."

"And I want you to replace the wreath your lackies tore up while they were apprehending me," Aeolus adds crossly.

"Yes, fine, that too," the Baron says. "What do you say, human?"
