Darth releases his Cyndaquil, a little cutie onto the field to face off against the Oddish that just pwnd her team mate in a from behind victory.

Pyrette goes on the offensive, getting pumped as she unleashes a blast wave of flaming energy at Oddish (-10 E @ Pyrette, SPATK → -2/-17 H @ Oddish). It's a hard hit, and Oddish tries to shake his leaves to send spores flying into the sky (-4 E @ Oddish) but the spores fly too high on the thermals from the risen heat.

Continuing the offensive, Pyrette uses the move again (-10 E @ Pyrette, SPATK → -2/-15 H @ Oddish). Oddish was getting hit pretty hard, but he wasn't giving up as he unleashed another wave of spores (-2 H @ Oddish, (Energy Substitute)/SLP → 90% Chance Wake up).

Pyrette seemed to be off in dream land, before she snorted and shook herself awake and unleashed a powerful burst of flame at the Grass-Type (-7 E @ Pyrette/-3 H @ Oddish). And Oddish is DOWN! Finally the little bugger got knocked out, and it only took two Pokémon to do it.

As we wait for Falcon to release his next Pokémon, it seems as if Pyrette's flames aren't as bright as they were when she came out.

With the Oddish finally down, Falcon releases a chameleon with a name just as noticeable as his element. Battle all set? Ready?! GO!

Pyrette jump kicks it off by surrounding herself in flames before Variable twists and turns, his fists glowing purple (-5 E @ Pyrette, -6 H @ Pyrette/-8 E @ Variable, - 5 H @ Variable, Type → Fire), both Pokémon bouncing off of each other as their attacks hit.

Variable uses the spanging to charge up his next attack, breaking up parts of the arena and lifting them with his mind before hurling them at Pyrette (-9 E @ Variable, All Stats → +1/-19 H @ Pyrette (CRIT)). Flying backwards from the blow, the Cyndaquil starts to dig down into the ground (-5 E @ Pyrette).

Happy with the change of events, and on a mad power-rush, Variable starts to dance around calling the storms (-5 E @ Variable/Rain Dance → 3 Rounds). Up from the depths, less than two feet tall, back on fire, his head in the dirt comes Pyrette as she slams into Variable (-3 E @ Pyrette/-12 H @ Variable, Type → Ground).

This match-up's gonna give the Ref a Headache, he can just tell...

A chameleon with an identity crisis and a mammal with a goal, we're back on track! Everyone all set?! Ready? GO!

With his new-found speed, Variable is ready to take the fight to another level as his tail glows. He runs and slams into Pyrette with his tail (-7 E @ Variable/-16 H @ Pyrette), and that DID hurt. Pyrette glares at her opponent as her closed eyes start to see and expand, before slamming into Variable by assaulting his senses (-7 E @ Pyrette/-2 H @ Variable, Type → Psychic).

Variable seems to wait as Pyrette's forearms glow with energy and she comes in swipping at him (-8 E @ Pyrette), but finds herself stopped by a pair of glowing chameleon eyes and a new aura lining around her body (-10 E @ Variable/Crush Claw Disabled → 6 Attacks).

With water still falling on the field, Variable uses that and unleashes a burst of water concentrated energy at Pyrette (-7 E @ Variable/-18 H @ Pyrette) which splashes into her face. Growling, her flames nearly gone, she jumps at Variable for a Bruce Lee-themed kick (-6 E @ Pyrette//-2 H @ Variable, Type → Fighting) striking the Type-malliable Pokémon faintly.

The rain still falls as Pyrette looks like she's not going to make it through this one alive. Can the Cyndaquil burn through the competition, or has Variable snuffed out her flame for good?

The camo chameleon has a plan, but will that plan be able to hold off the flaming hedgehog, or will the Cyndaquil run out of fuel before serving up some Keckleon Tar-tar? Pokémon Battle all set?! Ready? GO!

With his new speed, Variable stitches together a physical doppleganger with some shed skin, dirt, and random arena parts (-18 E @ Variable, -11 H @ Variable/Variable Sub: 11 HP). Despite losing the real chameleon, Pyrette snorts out a line of insults that would make a Tyranitar cry (-5 E @ Pyrette/Taunted → 6 Attacks).

Variable is fuming as he unelashes a sphere of water that slams into Pyrette from the side (-6 E @ Variable/-15 H @ Pyrette) leaving the Cyndaquil wondering where on earth that attack came from as she digs down into the ground (-5 E @ Pyrette).

Not wanting to let Pyrette get away without taking another beating, Variable launches another burst of water that hits the newly dug hole (-8 E @ Variable). Even though he looks for smoke, the Cyndaquil pops up under the Substitute, slamming into it (-3 E @ Pyrette/-8 H @ Variable Sub). It's still holding together... Barely.

The round finishes up and the rain stops. Can Pyrette see the Keckleon through the trees, or can the green menace strike from the shadows and take her down?

We're ready once again. Can the blazing porcupine snatch victory from the tongue of defeat, or will the camouflage Pokémon roll right on through the rest of Darth's team?

Variable, despite what his trainer ordered, is still spitting mad at Pyrette, and runs in for a generic attack (-5 E @ Variable/-6 H @ Pyrette). Just where did that attack come from? Pyrette looks confused as she transforms into a small army (-3 E @ Pyrette, 3 Clones → 75% Chance Attack Dodge) circling and trying to confuse the substitute.

Hoppin mad and fuming, Variable leaps at one of the clones (-7 E @ Variable/2 Clones → 66% Chance Attack Dodge), but ends up diving right through it. Meanwhile, Pyrette seems to be preparing a massive attack, the ground in front of the Cyndaquil starts to boil and melt, erupting into a lava plume. Pyrette leaps into the lava before rolling, creating a rolling, moving mass of lava barreling down on the wee Keckleon substitute (-21 E @ Pyrette, 0 Clones/-3 H @ Substitute, Destroyed), destroying it and her clones in the resulting explosion of flame, lava and smoke (-6 H @ Variable, Type → Fire, BRN → -2 HP, ATK → -2).

Some of the attack seemed to get Variable and burned him up as he came rushing in from the side and slammed into Pyrette as she tried to make sense of the disintegrating sub (-6 E @ Variable/-5 H @ Pyrette), and knocking her for a loop.

The fight continues, and seems that Variable wasn't able to knock out his opponent this turn, has Pyrette finally got her second wind, or will the cackling Keckleon show her what's what?

For moves that say "has a Chance of (stat)" I use the Game Attack Index percentage and roll percentiles to see if the status is applicable. I use this for things like Burns, Poison, Paralysis Attack Failures, Attract, and Confusion to see if the status hits or not. This includes Dizzy Punch.

It also says "Has a High Chance" which also means that it doesn't induce confusion on every hit.

Variable is still moving faster than Pyrette can keep up as he pulls up the earth and flings them at the Cyndaquil (-4 E @ Variable, -2 H @ Variable (Energy Substitute)/-14). She's hit hard, but keeps trying as she unleashes a massive explosion of fiery fury (-6 E @ Pyrette, -1 H @ Pyrette (Energy Substitute), SPATK → -2/-3 H @ Variable) The attack didn't do much, considering that Variable was of the Fire Type at the moment.

That tickled, so Variable decided to do a little dance to bring the rain (-4 H @ Variable (Energy Substitute)/Rain → 3 Rounds). Pyrette decided to take the time and push herself some more by digging through the ground (-2 H @ Pyrette (Energy Substitute)).

Pyrette is gone, and the rain is falling, so Variable tries to flush her out by sending a blast of water down the tunnel (-4 H @ Variable (Energy Substitute)) which can't reach Pyrette. The Cyndaquil tries to dig her way out to attack (-1 H @ Pyrette (Energy Substitute), TKO'D!), but she's reached her limit, passes out, and has to be dug out by the Ref's Garchomp.

With Pyrette down and Variable still standing, it seems like Falcon's got the upper hand. Unless Darth and turn the match around with is next battler.
