It's the return of the Ref/Trainer you love to hate. Mew Master comes to the stadium, silently hoping, for a grand welcome back applause, but is instead welcomed by the sound of Kriketune chirping as he takes his spot on the ref platform.

“Fine.... missed you too ASB...”

Despite the ref's luke-warm welcoming, the competitors make their way to the stadium. Falcon's Eye, who just got approved within the last week, a new comer to the League, opposite of Darth CookieMonster, who was still a rookie when MM took his leave of absence.

Flacon sends out a small, round Pokémon with leaves for hair, a little Oddish named after it's own sun gathering substance. Darth releases the toxic frog Crogunk, who's namesake has been the nightmare of gamers and drivers for years. Let's get things started! Everyone ready? GO!

Frogger jumps in, his fist aglow with an arctic energy before he punches the little Plant Pokémon hard, sending him flying back (-6 E @ Frogger/-11 H @ Chlorophyll). That had to hurt, but the little guy isn't giving up as he summons a hexogonal sphere around himself (-3 E @ Chlorophyll, Safeguarded: 3 Rounds) that should keep him from getting knocked around too much.

Chloro isn't done yet, with his new found security in his defenses, he charges up energy before blasting it out of his mouth at the Poison-Type (-4 E @ Chlorophyll/-3 H @ Frogger) that didn't look like it did much. The toxic toad shakes of the attack like a mere annoyance before summoning a breeze to wash over the arena and chilling the Oddish to the bone (-4 E @ Frogger/-9 H @ Chlorophyll, SPD -1). Frost forms along the edges of the onion's leaves.

Frogger keeps it up, before Chloro has a chance to retaliate by slamming another arctic fist into the plant's body (-6 E @ Frogger/-11 H @ Chlorophyll). While it hurt like hell, Chlorophyll is still mobile as he starts to dance around the Croagunk (-7 E @ Chlorophyll/CNF – 50% Attack Fail).

So, the round is over and looks like Chlorophyll's in for a wild ride...

A couple things Mew Master: My Oddish doesn't have a nickname, Chlorophyll is his ability (and i thought abilities were on?). Also, why did the CFN % already decrease? It was used last and not even part of a turn went by....

I thought Chlorophyll WAS the name of your PKMN, and Abilities are not in use unless otherwise requested. Since no one said anything, there are no Abilities for this match.

The way I ref Confusion is it starts at 50% chance of Attack Fail (Because that's how the game states). The chance has not dropped, that was my fault and I'll fix that momentarily, my bad. Hope that makes sense.

Another round, another time, and some 'slight' corrections on the Ref's part. So, grab your gear. Get ready! GO!

Oddish looks a bit peeved. It's not winter yet! He lunges at Frogger to hit the Croagunk with leaves and feet in a barrage of spaz attacks (-6 E @ Oddish/-6 H @ Frogger). While Oddish flails around, Frogger is partly blinded by moving leaves in his face before he grabs and slams the Grass-type into the ground, hard (-8 E @ Frogger, CFN – 40% Attack Failure/-12 H @ Oddish).

Frogger still seems to be flailing around, throwing himself away from the Oddish he just threw into the ground (-6 E @ Frogger, -6 H @ Frogger, CFN – 30% Attack Failure.). Oddish picks himself back up, looks at the dizzy Croagunk before giggling. Soon the giggling is in stereo as he splits into several copies (-4 E @ Oddish, 4 Clones, 80% Chance Attack Dodge).

The Oddish chorus starts to shake, rattle, and roll as waves of spores fill the arena settling down on the arena (-2 E @ Oddish/PAR –> SPD -2, 25% Attack Failure), and things are looking bad for the battle-toad. With the poison Fighting frog covered in spores, his muscles lock up on him, incapable to move (CFN – 20% Attack Failure). Curses! Foiled again!

Oddish are multiplying like rabbits while the Croagunk's head's a spinnin'. Next round! Ready? Go!

The Plant-Type is still going for the gold... or rather... Poison-Type as the clones seem to shift and move before another set of Oddish Clones appear, being made out of shed leaves and mud (-20 E @ Oddish/-20 H @ Oddish, Substitute Clones replace Double Team Clones, 80% Attack Dodge/SUB = 20 Health), looking like something you find from a Spring-made snow-man. The Croagunk isn't going to let it deter him, but his muscles lock up preventing him from moving (PAR, CFN → 10% Chance Attack Failure).

Content in his reprieve from the Toxic Toad's assault, Oddish starts to dance around the confused Frogger as he stares at five mud and leaf constructs (-5 E @ Oddish, ATK +2). Frogger isn't having any of this, as he channels the cold winds of the north, sweeping it at two of the constructs (-5 E @ Frogger, No longer CNF/2 Clones → 66% Chance Attack Dodge).

His mind cleared, Frogger becomes the subject of another flailing Oddish (-3 E @ Oddish/-5 H @ Frogger) but the effects aren't that great as Oddish seems to be relieving some stress. But the copy didn't move at all... did it? The Croagunk doesn't wait to see, he throws himself at one of the mud-Oddish's and makes a solid hit (-8 E @ Frogger/-8 H @ Oddish Sub/No Clones.)!

A twisted turn of events, but the game's not over yet.

I'm a little confused...where did all of my clones go? I understand two were destroyed with icy wind, but that same turn a sub was made. So that's a sub and 2 clones left right? If so, and the Sub got attacked the last turn, where did my other two subs go?

There are some things that I'll go in and edit, but as to where your clones went, here's the lowdown.

Double Team works as an illusionary effect that makes copies of the Pokemon that then copy the main one's attacks. In making a substitute, the clones also made substitutes. However these substitutes replace the Double Team Clones, as the Substitute is imbued with energy to fool the Opponent into thinking that the Substitute is the main Pokemon. This switch of energy replaces the Double Team Clones with Clones of the Substitute (that still act like Double Team Clones for % Attack Dodge). When those Substitute Clones are gone, they're gone. They're not replaced with the Double Team Clones that made them.

As with Double Team (since the Substitutes were the replacements for the Illusions), once the main body is hit, the rest disappear. Frogger hit the Main Substitute, and thus the remaining clones were destroyed as a result.

This was done in the idea of fairness, since having Double Team Clones make Substitutes would easily double the amount of fakes the Opponent would have had to go through, making an 20% chance to hit, into a 10% chance to hit.

Here we are again folks! Ready? GO!

Both Pokémon are ready to go at it. While Oddish is a bit slow, Frogger's paralysis has him even slower as the mud doll seems to teeter around him, disorienting him once more (-6 E @ Oddish/CFN → 50% Chance Attack Fail). Frogger's eyes are playing tricks on it, he thinks, maybe, perchance, perhaps. He manages to move, to trick the Oddish into a fuming set of anger, but ends up smacking himself in the face (-5 E @ Frogger, -5 H @ Frogger, CFN → 40% Chance Attack Fail).

Well Oddish looks pleased as punch. Just as he calls forth the sun to shine on the field (-5 E @ Oddish, SPD → +2/Sunny Day → 3 Rounds). Squinting through the sun, Frogger tried to prepare himself for the attack that never came, but ended up staring up at the sun too long until he fell backwards (-6 E @ Frogger, -10 H @ Frogger (CRIT), CFN → 30% Chance Attack Fail). It just doesn't look like Frogger's day, does it.

Frogger starts to gain a golden aura around himself as Oddish started to spit out a barrage of seeds. The Toxic Toad grabbed them before throwing them right back at the Oddish, slamming into his leafy duplicate (-6 E @ Oddish/-10 H @ Oddish Substitute/-8 E @ Frogger, -5 H @ Frogger, CFN → 20% Chance Attack Fail).

It's a turn around, that's for sure as Oddish's protective veil disappears.

The match continues as the toxic toad traveler tries to grenade the green grass.

Oddish is on the move again as orbs of questionable origin surround him before they fly off in every direction (-7 E @ Oddish, Hidden Power Type = PSYCHIC/-17 H @ Frogger). Frogger, taken aback by the burst of mental energy fights with his own mental delima and then wailing on Oddish hard and fast (-7 E @ Frogger, CFN → 10% Chance Attack Fail/-2 H @ Oddish Substitute). He's still in this fight and... HEY! What was Oddish doing over there?! Frogger had knocked out the clone finally.

Oddish glows again and smacks Frogger with more orbs (-7 E @ Oddish, Hidden Power Type = PSYCHIC/-17 H @ Frogger), that energy HAS to hurt. While Frogger ends up slapping himself silly (-6 E @ Frogger, -6 H @ Frogger, CFN gone).

With those two bursts doing a heafty amount of damage to the Croagunk, Oddish takes a little break (+5 E @ Oddish). But Frogger isn't going to give him the satisfaction of a break just yet... if his muscles would stop locking up on him.

Frogger tries to focus, bringing forth a replica of himself (-11 E @ Frogger, -3 H @ Frogger (Energy Substitute), TKO'D!) and he knocks himself out trying to make the substitute! Guess the strain was too much for him to handle.

As the round ends, the sunlight starts to reduce in intensity.
