Default No more YuGiOh on WB!

***I didnt right this, a person from toywiz posted it and then I posted it here***

    November 15th, 2004.

" Represenitives from WB Kids Entertainment, have hearby annouced that the Yugioh Telivision show will be taken off the air, due to many complaints from parents. Many parents are concerned that the show promotes witch craft and is not an appropriate show for children under the age of 12.

Woody Monroe, Chairman and Cheif Executive Officer or WB TV, made has concluded that it will be taken off the air following the current season.

Sandra Fleak, Chairman and CEO, of 4-Kids entertainment, says that the TV show is edited thousands of times to rid offensive comments and coarse language.

Mary Littleton, resident of Palm Springs, Florida. Told the press that her son was fond of the show for quite some time. She had no idea that it was promoting witch craft until she viewed it on her own.

"The show is just not right for kids, after my son's fourth nightmare I decided to confiscate all his cards and block the TV show on my parental control. Its just not a childrens show, and I was even more astonished when I looked at the names of his cards, horrible. The should not be feeding this to our youth. I want the cards removed from the shelves."

Jerry Benington, Vice President of Upper Deck Entertainment (the manufacturer of the cards) says that just like the TV show the cards are edited time after time. He says that Yugioh is no where near offensive to him. "

XD That gave me a chuckle. I posted it here for (A) Humor and (B) For any of this animes fanboys. I think that the WB is stopping it because of one soccor mom but hay, its there lose. There just pissing away money.

For witchcraft...I guess she was a Republican.

The names?! Oh dear, Dark Ruler Ha Des?! Dark Necrofear?! Ectoplasmer?! Or maybe it was the Dark Magician Girl who really spooked them out?!

Well, the uncut version is now on DVD. In it, a lot of lewder stuff happens and there's nothing cut out this time. Lot more swearing, some adult-ish jokes are made (I think in one of the early episodes Tea takes a leak off the side of the boat) along with more heated stuff between Mai and Joey as well as Yugi and Tea. Apparently in the true version Tea is a real livewire. She's got a real foulmouth and is willing to beat the crap out of anyone, but is still sweet. Sounds like a really nice person. Seriously, I'd wanna know her.

For freaks sake, this wouldn't happen in Australia. Over hear the kids complain the anime looks too soft and their parents say they don't like it because it's too diluted! Exact damn oppposite of parents in the US! I think that's why Madman started to do their own versions for some so US censors couldn't alter it!

I'm posting this story on animenfo! They are gonna laugh themselves stupid over this!

    EDIT: Interesting story on www.animenewsnetwork.com

4Kids said that they will continue to the end of the current Yu-Gi-Oh series and then show Yu-Gi-Oh GX in 2005, which has new characters and is a military version compared to the original.

    Info: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...me.php?id=4481

4Kids also said they'd show the new series of Pokemon Chronicles as well (see, Animelee? I even give info relevant to your taste.)

Okay, basically the deal is KidsWB is running away from Yu-Gi-Oh! but 4Kids is doing them all. So don't panic just yet.

I never said I found the show good.

I simply found the excuse of witchcraft to be laughable.

    Today:

"OH MY GOD! THIS CARTOON IS PROMOTING WITCHCRAFT!!! THEY SHOULD BAN IT FROM TV!!!"

    Yesterday:

"Honey, do you think we should buy our son a Harry Potter book? I was just wondering, since he seemed to have had a really fun time in that magician's costume for Halloween. Or maybe we should buy him a magic set, you know, let him have a little fun playing Merlin."

If that person was half-serious, he should've used real names then those fakes.

Just because they use "witch craft" doesn't mean it should be canceled. I personally am a fan of YGO. If they cancel it, I think that pokemon should also be cancled. Because they just keep going on and on, like digimon. I don't really hate pokemon, I love the games but like the show.

Yu-Gi-Oh in Japan is way worse then it is here. America edited it so it could be viewed by the youth. But parents these days are being stupid, yeah I know I am dissing my own father. But he could care less what I watch. This is just my thoughts. If you read the manga like some of us do, then you would know. And if you search for images like I do, then you would know. In the japanese anime YGO, the harpy sister only has her boobs covered up so much, in the america they edited it so that her whole top half would be covered up.

And also on cartoon network, they should a lot of the animes on how they are, most of the time. Like in adult swim, Witch hunter Robyn, thats witch craft. And Fullmetal Alchemst(sp?) That too is witch craft. And then there is Tech TV. THey show a bunch as well. But hey this is just my say in the matter. h:

Is this even real? I have yet to see it on any other sites.

I don't even believe this is a real at all. If they ARE going to do so then it would have been canced the begging of the week, not now. And if they do they will lose a lot of watchers. They should just wait til the whole anime is finished with, they only have like 2 more seasons left, and they should just wait until it is completely done with.

It would piss off a lot more then just me and a couple of my friends. It would piss off A LOT of YGO fans. The only reason why I even watch KidsWB is for YGO and then change it to cartoonnetwork to watch some of the pokemon then YGO again. The only season of pokemon I like very much is the first season.

To me they have gotten out of hand with making all of pokemon sersons. That's why Digimon got cancled on a few channels, cause they kept going on and on about it.

*is counting spelling errors in that*

Nope, not buying it. Cheif? Represenitives? Telivision? "Made has concluded"? Childrens? "The should not"? It doesn't even sound right, nor does it have a professional look to it... it looks like a badly done newspaper article, where they've tried to structure it like it had interviews and things.

Good point, they might just want to get rid of YGO cause it is one of the most popular animes next to Pokemon.

That's not all true. The only thing my mom forbids me and my younger brother from watching is pornography, but she knows we're smarter than that. Unless she's not a true Republican afterall. I'm for sure it's liberals who want stuff like that off-air.

I don't see how the names of the cards are "witch craft". Being forced to live in probably the most religious part of Florida, there was an incident weeks ago where teens were arrested claiming to be performing "acts of Wicca" to raise the dead after stealing the ashes of four people. They even spoke to a witch of the true pagan sense (meaning "wise one") and she was furious.

Ah well, exactly when was the last effort I made to watch WB? Two years ago. I don't know why I could never really get into Yuugiou/Yu-Gi-Oh too much. What's worse I didn't even bother to touch the card game.

I wonder what show they plan on throwing off-air next...Hmmm....

I wouldn't limit to this to any group of people, I'd limit this to the idiotic mothers who think that anything with "dark" or "reaper" in it is a horrible, unacceptable thing. That mom is an idiot.
And I even started to think, for a while, that Yugioh was getting childish. >_>
This is fake anyway. WB wouldn't DARE cancel Yugioh until their very last customer gets fed up with it. Yugioh is a gold mine for them. If they eliminate Yugioh, they eliminate money.
The left side of my brain is screaming "possible" while the right side of my brain immediately said "fake". In other words, I have no idea whether this is real or not and if it is, that mom deserves to be slapped across the face hard.

Oh, 4Kids is the studio and WB the channel. I see. *shows how much I know about cable TV*

Well, clearly 4Kids will find someone else. Whoever it is be the question.

Um...yeah. Warner Brothers is the network, and 4Kids is the dubbing and distribution company.

I also want to see where you gave a link to anything that confirmed this.

I just admitted I got my facts wrong. The link I gave referred to 4Kids taking on Yu-Gi-Oh! GX for 2005 screening. So one would assume 4Kids would finish the rest of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! before they do GX.

If 4Kids are going to show something in 2005, then one would assume they will have a network to support them WB isn't the only one. If every kid's cartoon network in America banned Yu-Gi-Oh!, that will be the saddest thing I've ever heard of.

There is the posibility of the show continuing its life on Cartoon Network, considering they already show older episodes...

4Kids owns the Fox Box, so I'm sure it'll be heading there, probably replacing Kirby.

Oh dear god. Most of the anime that get dubbed for american TV never was pristine in the first place. Yuugiou needed a hell lot of editing, just like Inuyasha and Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew are being raped with airbrushes and censors and silly things like that. I don't think many anime will EVER live to be uncut and uncensored on north american TV. If you want it like it should be, you have to spend good money for it.

They have a rule. At least, if they don't, it sure seems like they do.

    EVERYTHING must be edited.

Even .hack//SIGN, which has barely anything wrong with it. They went through the whole show, couldn't find a single thing to cut/splice/airbrush. So what did they do? Took out two frames. Mimiru slapping Tsukasa. Two frames.

    It's a rule. I'm sure of it.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious that even if WB dropped YGO (which I honestly couldn't see them doing, it's gotta be their second-best ratings venture within the past one or two years), it would find a home elsewhere. KidsWB is for little peoples like 5+, right? CN is for little peoples like 10/12+. There. Five to seven years. Long enough for them to get over [insert random anime accusation #312]. Even if not, there's no way YGO is just disappearing. Unless the uncut sales did thousands of times better than they thought they would, which in that case I could see 4Kids shifting to that. But highly unlikely.

Well, I say who cares they already showed the Atemu vs Rapheal duel, and next week they will show part 3 of Atemu vs Weevle. Those really are the main highlights of Doma. Hopefully they would finish off Doma if this is true, after that the series kindof just slows down, and with the horrible animation that the Egyption Arc had, I really would hate to see what 4 Kids would do with it, bad dubbing + bad animation most likely would really ruin the arc.

The rematches of Mai vs. Joey and Raphael vs. the Pharaoh (me ^^; ) are of interest. And more importantly, the 8-parter finale of Yugi and Seto vs. Dartz.

On a side note and on an unrelated matter, at this current juncture in this dub, Yami is more frustrated that he is stuck in transformation (j/k ^^; )

    Psst - Pokemon(after Indigo, anyhow).

And speaking of Pokemon - wasn't this issue also thrown at Pokemon a long time ago? A bunch of crazy mothers and religious nuts claiming Pokemon was witchcraft got into a snit until the Pope finally called it off.

Hysterical. I could kinda understand soccer moms whining if they kept the rough translations like "Demon Summon", "Pentagram Curse", or "Death Demon Dragon", but what is so offensive about "Summoned Skull", "Spellbinding Circle", and "Black Skull Dragon"? Absolutely incomprehensible. It's already censored to the point of being boring, cheesey, and inconsistent and it's still not enough. Damn those soccer moms and conservatives, don't know what's good for them. If they have nothing worse to worry about than kids getting nightmares from TV, they could start with taking commercials for horror movies off the air, I'm sure White Noise is a bit scarier than a 4Kids censored/butchered anime.

    Aiya! Aiya times 10! (shudder)

    What next?

    Ban Dragon Ball/Z/GT because:

    1. I can be like Ranfan and strut around in just my socks, tennis shoes, and my bra and underpants so I can 'score'?
    2. Kids are trying to do the Kamehameha Wave for real?
    3. Of the scene where Mercenary Tao can kill a man just by licking his forehead?
    4. Two words: Dodon Wave
    5. ESPN covering the Tenkaichi Budokais live. They may wanna slap a TV-14 logo on the screen at the start.
    6. Which would you prefer? Friday Night Fights or Dragon Ball Live on ESPN 2?
    7. If Ranfan got her own TV show? (Even if she lost to a Hindu, she could still cash in, in other fun ways).
    8. The fact that they can sell Hyperbolic Time Chambers at Circuit City (as long as the counter girl looks like Bulma Briefs). Imagine, a whole year of school in a day! Or whatever activity you plan on doing.
    9. Imagine a new ad where Lebron James has to fight Korin for the Mystic Pepsi.
    10. May I go on?
