Close Calls and Thrilling Victories...

as you may have guessed, this topic is for all the close calls you may have had during your matches in your GSC life. they can be in game or against real people, too.

My thrilling victory came when i first beat red (Ash). he ran right through me the first time i battled him, but the second time i had a secret weapon that would crush his lvl 80 pikachu... my lvl 28 graveler. now, some of you might laugh, but i really had no pokémon even close to lvl 80, so this was my best shot. as i turns out, that particular battle lasted over a half hour, with me healing my graveler and Red healing pikachu. eventually, he ran out of heals and his pikachu ran out of it's moves it could use, so i slowly but surely whittled it's HP down to 0. my graveler, when all was said and done, was lvl 32. after that thrilling victory, the rest of Red's team was a lot easier, especially since he used all his potions on pikachu. snorlax was a bit of a problem, as was charizard, but everything else went quite smoothly afterwards. when all was said and done i couldn't believe my graveler had taken down his pikachu. it definately was the most thrilling victory i've ever experienced.

I don't get whats so thrilling about typing "! 2, # 6, ! 4, # 2, ! 3, # 6, ..." every 2 minutes for 6 hours.

kkm this happened in game.

but a graveler (hell even geodude) above like level 20 could take it down as long as it has a ground move.

I can't remember any close calls in gsc, since it's been awhile since I have played a lot competitively and I don't play my game much anymore :-\

my closest call was probably when my shuckle almost lost to this one machamp, but i owned its ass.

My closest call...finally getting Ivysaur/Wartortle/Charizard/Mewtwo/Three birds/Flaffy/and Mew (!) in my Crystal game without Gameshark.

Eyup. There were many trials and tribulations in my Pokémon games, but trading for Pokémon (since there no one with either link cables or Pokémon games in my area) has to be the worst. =(
