History: Sorcerers are rare beings - like mages, they can control magical energy, but unlike mages, they don't learn it. Sorcerers are born with their powers, and such powers manifest at a young age. Some say that dragon blood runs in their veins - who can tell. Riyoku never asked for his powers, and they proved as much a curse as they were a gift.
He was once just a farm boy, living outside of Kalain. When he was sixteen (some months ago, his parents started to get into arguements with a wealthy Baron from Duraine named Malaris. Riyoku didn't know what the whole fight was about, and when he asked his father, he was told never to mind. Riyoku didn't press...
Then one day, the world came crashing down. Riyoku came home from a trip into town to find his parents murdered - and the killers still in the house. Malaris was there, as was his son, a brute named Kurtis. Malaris likely never intended to kill Riyoku, but once he saw him, he decided to leave no witnesses. He told Kurtis to kill the boy...
Maybe it was grief, maybe it was fear for his saftey, maybe a combination of the two, but at that moment, Riyoku's powers of sorcery manifested for the first time. Hardly knowing what he was doing, he cast a destructive spell that struck the murderer dead. Malaris fled in fear...
But he'd be back. Malaris thought of revenge soon after leaving. He used his influence in the city to concoct an evil lie, stating that Riyoku was in league with demons, and had murdered Kurtis, AND his own parents. With his powers not fully functioning, Riyoku was arrested. His ensuing trial was a joke - to this day, he is certain that the judge and jury was bribed.
Fortunately, the night before he was to be hanged, his powers fully manifested. He used them to escape and overpower the guards of the prison. He stopped at his farmhouse and got two items - his parent's wedding rings. He would keep them to remind himself of how he would someday avenge them.
Now a fugitive, living under an assumed name, Riyoku wanders, seeking to do good. He knows his enemy is likely too well connected to face - but maybe after becoming stronger, he can clear his name and make certain the one truley responsible hangs...
