So, Punch Out on the Wii has been out for a good week now in Europe (probably a bit longer in other parts of the world). What is your first impression of the game, does it meet your expectations.
It sure does meet mine though I would have loved to see more boxers than "just" 13. The graphics are nicely done, the fact that the boxers all talk in their own native languages is fun to listen to. It's still the classic Punch Out formula though I think those who have played the previous games have an easier time with some of the competitors. "Doc" Lewis is awesome though, they turned him into a really humorous character I'd love to see again soon.
What I also like is the fact that your opponents actually "remember" their victories over you. That always bothered me in the previous Punch Out games that if you had lost twice to e.g. Super Machoman he would still have the same win-defeat stats as if he had never boxed you in the past. Now you can go on a losing spree against Glass Joe and give him 100 victories.
The title defense bouts were a great idea too.
Since many here are well versed in other languages, could some of you give a few translations of what other boxers are saying. I'm really curious about Piston Hondo, Great Tiger, Don Flamenco and Bald Bull in particular.
