353: Formidable Enemy! Mother PokeCoordinator Appearance! Info and speculation

Alright, well, TV Tokyo seems to have updated early!

Anyway, some of you probably watched the preview. Looks like we'll be seeing two more not-yet-featured Pokemon: Masquerain and Lairon. Masquerain happens to be Drew's!

Anyway, some of you remember when I said the "mom" in this title MAY be Drew's mom. It's not, I was mistaken. I did say I might be mistaken though...

Anyway, now translating the text wasn't too hard.

Ash and the others are traveling, and take a stop at Ruibosu Town. Then they hear that there is a Contest in this town, and May gets excited. She also has another encounter with her rival Drew. Suddenly, in the city, a crowd of a bunch of parents and girls starts cheering. They find out that this is the "Best Pokemon mother" contest. It's pretty much a tournament of who gives the best TLC, and it's unofficial, and is hosted by some people in this town to get the Coordinators to practice for the actual official Pokemon Contest at the Ruibosu Contest Hall, the next day. As everyone enters, this girl Tsukiko seems to be really passionate about this thing, and winning it. May then gets a strong desire to participate in this tournament, and give her a challenge, since she's just as passionate.
Meanwhile, J&J hear about this practice tournament and they also want to enter really badly. Unfortunately for them, only people with Contest Ribbons may enter this. With that, they organize a plan to swipe the Ribbons from May and everyone else there...


So yeah... discussination.

Drew's Masquerain is adorable. He seemed very friendly towards May in the preview clip. I'm looking forward to a fight between Bulbasaur and Masquerain, even if it isn't for a ribbon.

I agree Masquerin (sp?) is a brilliant choice for Drew, although I hope Roselia does still make appearences.

Somebody at SPP mentioned how Drew had Roselia, a Poison/Grass, and May had Beautifly, a Bug/Flying. Now it has swapped around and May has Bulbasaur, Poison/grass, and Drew has Masquerin, a Bug/Flying. Interesting.

I think May will lose here, making her train for the contest at Lilycove. I LOVE Masquerin now :-s *goes to train one on RS*

Hehe, that is pretty clever.

So, I wonder, will we be seeing Haruka and Shuu duking it out in the episode after this, or at the end of this episode? I guess time will tell. ^^

Somebody at SPP mentioned how Drew had Roselia, a Poison/Grass, and May had Beautifly, a Bug/Flying. Now it has swapped around and May has Bulbasaur, Poison/grass, and Drew has Masquerin, a Bug/Flying. Interesting.

Things I'm expecting to see in this Episode:

-Character Introductions (Bulbasaur and Masquerain; Mother)
-Another TR Plot, probably to go after the Contest Pokemon

Things I'm hoping to see:

-A friendly battle between Drew and May
-Eagerness by Jessie to participate.

The actual contest sounds like it'll take place next episode.

From what I gather, the contest is for Co-ordinators who have already earned at least one ribbon. Jesse and James plan on stealing ribbons so they can enter. Makes sense.... :-s

Don't you just love it when the anime takes a Pokemon you've never really thought much about before, and makes it adorable and interesting? I love the pictures of Drew's Masquerain; it'll make a nice complement to the other two Bug contest Pokemon, Beautifly and Dustox.

What was Meowth and James' objection when the group confronted them after crashing their balloon? It seemed like they didn't think it was fair of Jessie to steal the ribbons, as evidenced by their halfhearted participation in the motto.

Either that, or they halfheartedly did the motto because they were really tired for some reason. I couldn't tell.

It seems they tried making and selling fake Ribbons, but they didn't sell very many. I think Jesse's naieve idea of taking May's ribbons seemed to tire J and M out!
