I'd say Latios for the simple fact that it won't add a 2x grass weakness to your 3 pokemon team.
The tournament is next Sunday and I think I have finalized my team. Now all I have to do is train the Pokemon. ^_^; The only trouble I am having is choosing between two of some of my favorite Pokemon, Starmie or Latios. Which should I put on my three-team?
Ludicolo with Leftovers / Bold Nature / Rain Dish
Rain Dance
Leech Seed
Giga Drain
Surf
EVs: 252 in HP, 60 in Defense, 196 in Special Attack
Swampert with Chesto Berry / Modest Nature
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Surf
Rest
EVs: 252 in HP, 104 in Attack, 154 in Special Attack
Latios with Soul Dew / Timid Nature
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Dragon Claw
Recover
EVs: 252 in Defense, 252 in Special Attack, 6 in Special Defense
Starmie with Lum Berry / Calm Nature / Natural Cure
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Surf
Recover
EVs: 252 in HP, 252 in Special Attack, 6 in Defense
I'd say Latios for the simple fact that it won't add a 2x grass weakness to your 3 pokemon team.
Hmm...actually, on the subject of 2x weaknesses, Latios and Starmie will each give you a 2x weakness to Bug if you pair them with Ludicolo. Are you willing to risk Megahorn?

I have never once in a tournament come across anyone who has used Megahorn, so I am not worried about it.
The Standard Heracross would have it and could sweep your Team but that might not be a problem if you've never met it before. The only other Bug Pokemon you might see if Ninjask with Silver Wind but since that's a breed on move some people will never bother with it.Originally Posted by Water Pokemon Master
Yeah, most people have no idea about EVs and breeding moves on to Pokemon. I didn't even understand EVs last August when I played in this tournament, and I came in 1st place.![]()
Ludicolo with Leftovers / Bold Nature / Rain Dish
Rain Dance
Leech Seed
Giga Drain
Surf
EVs: 252 in HP, 60 in Defense, 196 in Special Attack
I'd like to see Ice Beam on this, but whatever. You're missing 4 EVs, which should probably go into Defense or Special Attack.
Swampert with Chesto Berry / Modest Nature
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Surf
Rest
EVs: 252 in HP, 104 in Attack, 154 in Special Attack
Works.
Latios with Soul Dew / Timid Nature
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Dragon Claw
Recover
EVs: 252 in Defense, 252 in Special Attack, 6 in Special Defense
Pick Latios, for the sake of Soul Dew, and also, that set works fine. You could consider Calm Mind, but I wouldn't.
Starmie with Lum Berry / Calm Nature / Natural Cure
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Surf
Recover
EVs: 252 in HP, 252 in Special Attack, 6 in Defense
This is your underdog, per se. Looks fine, though.

I moved this to the team rating hope you don't mind, it just seemed to fit here moreso than in the discussion area.
That being said, perhaps the reason you are going to win is because you have soul dew lati. But hey if that is allowed good for you, use whatever you want to win.
That being said I'd used something physical on this team, just in case.
There are a variety of options. Heracross, Dugtrio, Metagross all make fine sweepers, and would be soemthing to consider.
However if this is last minute and don't haev any of tyhose 3 pokemon at decent levels or sets ro raise then I guess
Also latios outshines Starmie in every way, to put iit bluntly.
I would put calm mind on Latios personally to make it a very overpowered sweeper. I don't think you need recover on it, but maybe you do. Is dragon claw THAT worth it? Dragon isn't exactly the best type to have on a pokemon. Metagross puts a hurting on you either way.
As someone mentioned ice beam on Ludi would be a good idea.
On swampert I usually like roar but you might not need it in this kind of tournament setting.
I don't know why you are so heavy on waters, but whatever.
Look at my name, Chris. I only like to play with my favorite Pokemon and my favorite type of Pokemon [I count Dragon and Ice Pokemon as Water types, even though they aren'tOriginally Posted by Sir Chris

In tournaments, there are really never any physical Pokemon. It's usually just Special Attack Pokemon that you see. The metagame here is weird, but easy at least. Everyone here likes to use the Regis.
I am going to change Dragon Claw to Ice Beam or Earthquake. I am not sure yet.
Ice Beam. You could put Surf instead. Your pick.

Replace Surf with Dive. I know Surf does more damage but before you use Dive use Leech Seed so when you use Dive you skip a turn and the opponents HP will go down while you are still underwater. I use Dive on my Ludicolo on my 2 on 2 team.
From how it sounds, I think Dive and Toxic over Giga Drain and Surf would be a safe idea. It adds for more annoyance, and I doubt you'll have to worry about them switching to a wall.
Modest on Swampert? :/ I'd drop speed instead of attack, or just change him to a physical sweeper; Curse, Earthquake, Return/Brick Break, Chesto-Rest.
I'd pick Starmie just cuz Latios is so overpowered (especially with Soul Dew). It just feels better to use something un-Uber.
Overall, you've got your weaknesses pretty well, but you still have 3 2x weaknesses (grass, electric, bug). But from the sounds of it all, you should be safe enough. Just make sure they have decent defenses.
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY DIVE BLOWS?!?
DIVE BLOWS ASS
Dive gives the opponent the switch. Need I say more? You go under, they swap to something like, let's say, Lapras. They have Water Absorb. Whoops! You just gave them about 90 HP back. You can't do shit, because that's all you have to attack. You give them more and more chances to own your ass.
Buddha damnit. I have to keep repeating this.
-> Note, I helped WPM set this up. I know what the **** I'm talking about. He set certain guidelines, and I followed them.
DIVE BLOWS ASS
Toxic is a good idea.
