The Pokemon Company released a video on their Japanese Youtube channel today going over some summer events they will be having at Pokemon Centers all over Japan. Starting May 10 through June 22 they will be holding Battle Tournaments and as a gift they will be giving away Pokemon with their Mega Stones attached. Pokemon XY: Strongest Mega Evolution Act 1 Anime Special
The Pokemon Company has released a brief trailer of the upcoming anime special, Strongest Mega Evolution Act 1.
It features a new trainer named Alan and his Charizard. The special will follow their adventures through the Kalos region where his goal is to defeat every Mega Evolved Pokemon, including the Elite Four Siebold’s Mega Blastoise.
The special will air in Japan on April 3, 2014.

October CoroCoro Reveals New Mega Evolutions and Starter Evolutions + MORE
Check out the leaked scans below from the latest CoroCoro magazine found on a Japanese forum and then posted on PokeJungle.net and Serebii.net.
What we’ve learned so far:
- The Mega Mewtwo we’ve seen before is actually Mega Mewtwo Y, a Pokemon Y exclusive. It is a Psychic type that learns Hypnosis.
- Mega Mewtwo X is featured in this CoroCoro edition is exclusive to Pokemon X. It is a Psychic/Fighting type that has the Steadfast ability.
- MewtwoniteX and MewtwoniteY are the two Mega Stones used to Mega Evolve Mewtwo.
- Hariboogu is Chespin’s 2nd evolution, a Grass Type that learns Mudshot.
- Teerunaa is Fennekin’s 2nd evolution, a Fire Type that learns Psychock.
- Gekogashira is Froakie’s 2nd evolution, a Water Type that learns Bounce.
- Garchomp receives a Mega Evolution and has the ability Sand Force.
- Torimian, the white dog we saw from Pokemon Direct, is a Normal type with Fur Coat ability and learns the new fairy-type move, Puppy Dog Eyes. Apparently you can also customize the appearance of this Pokemon.
- Chigorasu is a Rock/Dragon type Pokemon with ability Hard Chin.
- Amarusu is a Rock/Ice type Pokemon.
- Nyaonikusu is a Psychic type cat Pokemon. It has male (right) and female (left) forms. The female has more attack type stats and moveset while the male has more supporting type stats and moveset. The female uses Extra Sensory while the male uses Miracle Eye.
- Flabébé changes the color of the flower it holds according to where you are.
- A Type Chart was released revealing the Fairy type strengths and weaknesses:
- Offensive:
Super Effective against Dragon, Fighting and Dark
Not Very effective against Fire, Poison and Steel - Defensively:
Poison and Steel are Super Effective
Bug, Fighting and Dark are not very effective.
Dragon is resisted.

- The type chart also reveals that Steel no longer resists Dark and Ghost type attacks.

Mega Evolutions in Pokemon X and Y
Remember that new Mewtwo form that was revealed months ago? Well apparently according to the latest CoroCoro magazine and video released by Nintendo, that is a new type of Pokemon evolution called a “Mega Evolution”.
Mega Evolution can only happen during a Pokemon battle when the Pokemon is holding a “Mega Stone”. Mega Stones are not available during normal gameplay according to the video. There will be distribution events that you can get ahold of Pokemon holding Mega Stones. You will be able to get Torchic holding a Mega Stone when Pokemon X and Y is released on October 12th.
