2014 Pokemon World Championships Details Announced

The Pokémon Company International has launched its official 2014 Pokémon World Championships website (Pokemon.com/Worlds) for fans to keep up with all the action from the event. Taking place August 16-17 in Washington, DC, the event will be streamed live on the official site via the Twitch.tv/Pokémon Live Player, featuring a full day of select Pokémon TCG and video game matches on Saturday, August 16 and all three divisions, six matches total, of the final Pokémon TCG and video game matches on Sunday, August 17. A full event schedule is below. Pokémon TCG and video game players from more than 30 countries will be battling for scholarships, prizes, and the title of Pokémon World Champion.
Saturday, August 16

9:30am EST – 5:00pm EST – Pokémon Video Game Streaming
5:00pm EST – 8:00pm EST – Pokémon TCG Streaming

Phantom Gate Japanese TCG Expansion Announced

Looks like the 4th expansion to the Pokemon XY TCG series in Japan has been announced. “Phantom Gate” will feature Psychic-type Pokemon and have M-Gengar EX as the expansion’s mascot. It will be released in Japan on September 13, 2014 and have at least 88 cards. Check out the sample Japanese advertisements below.
XY Furious Fists TCG Expansion Coming August 13th

Furious Fists is the name of the next English Pokemon TCG expansion to be released August 13th, 2014. The set will feature over 110 cards, 5 new Pokémon-EX and 2 new Mega Evolution Pokémon. The Japanese equivalent set is called Rising Fist and will be released on June 14th in Japan.
