Oh, so it's okay for one President to roll right over civil liberties as long as he slaps the word Patriot on it, but when another guy does something incredibly vanilla in comparison, suddenly he's a bad man? I agree with the problems faced by the vulnerable groups, and hopefully there would be provisions for those who shouldn't be questioned without a lawyer present, such as children. Also, a man does have the right to remain silent, so if he doesn't want to talk, the cops can't force him. If the cops do try to force him, they ought to be suspended/fined/fired for mistreatment.
Also, I'd thought you'd be happy there would be a concrete law about this, considering how much you hate the Supreme Court legislating from the bench.
